In the anime and manga Saiyuki, Yaone is the youkai prince Kougaiji&#039;s alchemist.     ~~~ __Background__~~~    She was the daughter of an alchemist, but was selected by the woman-eater Hyakuganmaoh. She was saved from this fate by Kougaiji, and has since sworn her life to his service. She also takes the role of &#039;babysitter&#039; of Kougaiji&#039;s sister Lirin.     ~~~ __Weapons and Abilities__~~~    Her weapon of choice is a short spear, explosives and various poisons. In volume two of the manga, she attempts to eliminate the Sanzo Ikkou, first by poisoning their food, then gassing them. Her main fighting opponent is Hakkai, who is much similar to her in terms of personality, calm and collected. Curiously, she somewhat reminded Hakkai as his deceased lover Kanan. Also, both are sometimes seen fighting alongside each other, instead of against, also with the whole Sanzo Ikkou. Many years ago, humans and demons lived in harmony. But that unity ended when demons started attacking humans and plotted a mission to unleash Gyumao - an evil demon imprisoned for thousands of years. Now, Genjo Sanzo, a rogue priest, must team up with three demons - Sha Gojyo, Son Goku, and Cho Hakkai - and embark on a perilous journey to the west to stop these demons from resurrecting Gyumao and restore the balance between humans and demons on Earth.
