Robotnik is the villain of the Sonic universe in most games, a genius scientist with an IQ of 300. He is always attempting to destroy parts of the world to make it home to his super-city so he can then attain world domination, only to be stopped by [Sonic](https://anilist.co/character/2882) and his friends every time. On two occasions he has used a scientific experiment and an ancient monster to achieve his plans, both of which fail ([Shadow the Hedgehog](https://anilist.co/character/6379) and [Chaos](https://anilist.co/character/14758), respectively). He doesn't fight himself all that often and usually builds robots to carry out his dirty work, powered by small animals. Some of his more notable inventions include the Egg Carrier (a flying fortress), the Death Egg (a space station), the Egg Mobile (his aerial transportation vehicle), [Metal Sonic](https://anilist.co/character/17655) (a robotic clone of Sonic), among many other things. His grandfather was also a genius scientist, [Gerald Robotnik](https://anilist.co/character/14753), who originally created Shadow the Hedgehog via [Black Doom](https://anilist.co/character/355457)'s DNA.

When Dr. Eggman (Robotnik in the US version) holds the president and his daughter hostage, Sonic must comply to the evil scientist's demand of going to Eggmanland to stop Black Eggman and deactivate the city's generator before it reaches critical mass. Little does Sonic know that it's a trap to activate Hyper Metal Sonic, a robot counterpart built by Eggman to destroy our hero.

Chikao Ootsuka was a Japanese actor, voice actor and narrator, with a career spanning 67 years.
Ootsuka died from ischemic heart failure at the age of 85 on January 15, 2015.

Pollock is an American voice actor, best known as the current voice of Doctor Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, as well as many characters in various anime English-language dubs and video games. New Sonic the Hedehog manga, based on the upcoming game, Sonic World Adventure (aka Sonic Unleashed).

Manga about a hedgehog boy named Nicky Parlouzer who can turn into Sonic the Hedgehog. Along with Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic fights Dr. Eggman. 
Nicky has several friends in the "real world", including little John, his girlfriend Amy (a prototype/first incarnation of Amy Rose), and Charmy (a prototype/first incarnation of Charmy Bee). Nicky also encounters a lizard bully named Anton Beruuka with his little brother, Matt, and their pet, Mad. Nicky's family at home includes his mother, Brenda, his father, Paulie, and his little sister, Anita.

Sonic activates Chaos Control in his battle against Dark Oak, most formidable enemy he's faced thus far, to scatter the Chaos Emeralds across the galaxy. Meanwhile, Tails, Amy, and Cream encounter a spaceship that's crash-landed to their planet during a meteor shower. 

Note: The listed airing dates are from the original US broadcast. Due to poor ratings in Japan, the series cancelled airing after the first 52 episodes, and only received its first local airing in 2020.

Sonic the Hedgehog Story Comic is a three-volume promotional comic for Sonic the Hedgehog distributed alongside the Japanese magazine Mega Drive Fan. 
The comic tells the story of the first game, with Sonic traversing across South Island and rescuing his animal friends from Dr. Eggman. 
 
As the comic was created before the final release of the game, there is a number of references to old concepts and prototype material. Sonic is the lead singer of a band, travels through Sparkling Zone and Clockwork Zone, and the final issue details how Sonic became the mascot of a deceased pilot.
