First Appearance: 1948 – Jungle Kingdom  Acetylene Lamp is widely known for the running-gag candle that appears in the dent in the back of his head. This came about from the image of one of Tezuka’s childhood friends who has similarities that the character shares. Acetylene Lamp is one of Tezuka’s more used villains. He generally plays more important roles such as Inspector Tomobiki, a role in Black Jack and the widely best role, Acetylene Lampe from Adolf and Drake Lamp from the 2003 Astro Boy. He also shares lesser important roles such as the conductor of the Marine Express in Undersea Super Train Marine Express.  In his earlier years, Lamp generally was pointed out by his long face and large round eyes, he was later fitted with thick round glasses, adding to his now signature appearance. Though considered a villain, Lamp has played nearly every kind of role, from minor assistant to big time propaganda activist.

Easily recognizable by his huge, bristly mustache, Shunsaku Ban, also affectionately known as “Higeoyaji” and/or “Mustachio”, is one of Tezuka’s longest-running characters.  Most often cast in the role of a spirited, if not particularly sophisticated, middle-aged man, he has appeared in many of Tezuka’s most important series, including (but not limited to): Lost World (1948), Metropolis (1949), Next World (1951), Astro Boy (1952-68), The Adventure of Rock (1952-54), Lion Books (1956-57), Black Jack (1973-83), The Three-Eyed One (1974-78), MW (1976-78), Rainbow Parakeet (1981-82), among many others. Short-tempered and rough, he is also warm-hearted with a burning sense of justice – perfect for his usual occupation as a plucky detective.

It is interesting to note that, even though Shunsaku Ban appears in so many of Tezuka’s series, he didn’t really create him.  As Tezuka confesses in his book I am a Manga Artist, Higeoyagi’s character design is in fact based on a doodle that a good friend of Tezuka’s drew of his own father, when both were in middle school.  Tezuka swiped it and used it in Old Man Detective, one of his early amateur works, and he soon became an indispensable part of Tezuka’s work.

Don’t miss a rare appearance by Shunsaku Ban as a young man, with jet-black hair and sans his famous mustache, in the Lion Books (1956-57) chapter entitled “The Green Cat” (1956).

Meat is of Planet Kinniku&#039;s Churrasco Tribe whom was entrusted by his father Mince to Mayumi Kinniku of the Kinniku tribe for the greater good of the planet. Meat then is sent to Earth to retrieve the long lost prince Suguru Kinniku (Kinnikuman, known as Suguru Muscle in Ultimate Muscle).  He wears glasses and has the hiragana characters Niku (にく Meat) on his forehead. Also, although a member of the Churrasco Tribe, he has the Kinniku Clan&#039;s KIN Mark (KINマーク Kin Māku) on his chest that is similar to the old JIS Mark 〄.  He serves as Kinnikuman&#039;s eyes and personal assistant. In the early days he and Kinnikuman frequently quarrel with one another, usually because of Kinnikuman cowardice and/or laziness. They would also often fight over Mari Nikaidou&#039;s affection.  Meat has two older sisters, the beautiful Medium Rare (ミディアム・レアー Midiamu Reā) and the fat and ugly Kalbi Liver (カルビ・レバー Karubi Ribā).  His glasses are his weakness, whenever they are broken he ceases to function. Also, when he presses his temple a bright light shines from the Niku characters on his forehead.  In Kinnikuman Nisei, he has cryogenically frozen himself, leaving him with an unchanged appearance, so as to serve Kinnikuman&#039;s son Mantaro Muscle (Mantaro Kinniku).  He refers to Kinnikuman as Ōji (王子, Prince) (Ōji-sama (王子様) in the earlier chapters) and refers to Mantaro as Nisei (II世 Second) (Junior in the English manga). Alex (Japanese: アズマ Azuma) is the character of the day in Taming of the Shroomish.    When Alex was a little boy, he used to play with many Shroomish that shared a mansion with his grandfather. But as time went on, the forest around the mansion was being cut down to make way for buildings. Eventually, all the Shroomish left the mansion.    The city was planning on tearing down the mansion that Alex&#039;s grandfather had lived in. But strange things have been happening. The workers complained of feeling sick from the mansion. Alex would occasionally check up things to see if anything strange would happen. One day, he happened to come across Ash and Max who were standing in the garden of the mansion. He asked what they were doing there and they said that a Shroomish jumped in the window. Alex didn&#039;t believe them but decided to check it out anyway.    Inside the mansion, they all soon found the Shroomish that Max was taking care of. Alex was surprised that a Shroomish had come back to the mansion. Not only was this Shroomish living in the mansion but a large group of them as well. It turned out what was making all the workers sick was the Stun Spore from the Shroomish.    Eventually, Alex stops the demolition of the mansion and decides to live in it with the Shroomish as he did when he was little.     Bulbapedia

Raoul Contesta (Japanese: コンテスタ Contesta) is a character in the Pok&eacute;mon anime. He is a Pok&eacute;mon Contest judge.    Contesta is the main contest judge, and also the Pok&eacute;mon Contest director. He is usually the first one to comment on the Pok&eacute;mon, and the one who offers advice to the Coordinators. When May kept forcing her Bulbasaur to continue battling in Cruisin&#039; for a Losin&#039;, Contesta yelled at her for not knowing when to stop the battle, and criticized her for not caring about her Pok&eacute;mon. Drayden is a dragon type gym leader in Opelucid City.  Drayden first appeared in BW036 in Iris's flashback where he was introduced as a Dragon master. He witnessed Iris and Excadrill in battle while visiting the Dragon Village  and congratulated her on her victory. Iris then quickly challenged Drayden to a battle which he graciously accepted. However, the Dragon master proved to be too powerful for the young Trainer and Iris and Excadrill lost. He appears to be acquainted with the village's elder. 

Charon appeared in Saving the World From Ruins!, albeit not in a speaking role. He is seen briefly in Team Galactic&#039;s base.    Charon made his first full appearance in Gateway to Ruin! along with Saturn where they were trying to find the Spear Pillar in Mt. Coronet.    Charon made another appearance in Team Galactic&#039;s finale from Unlocking the Red Chain of Events! to The Battle Finale of Legend!, where he assisted in the final stages of the Red Chain project. He is not arrested, unlike the other three Commanders at the end of the arc, and presumably escaped.    He is often seen with a laptop computer and does much of the technical work for Team Galactic&#039;s plans, such as monitoring energy levels and other statistics. Muramasa is a blacksmith and the maker of the famous Muramasa swords. He was a former Taishirou. Muramasa crafted Kyo's, Sasuke's and Benitora's legendary weapons. However, he carries a heavy burden of guilt for what the Mibu have done and, in Kyo, he saw the fall of the Mibu. He left the Mibu to teach Kyo, whom he loves as a son. (Kyo was then called the Demon Child due to the unknown manner of his birth and the fact that as soon as he was born, the Mibu stopped being able to have children.)  Muramasa married a woman named Mayumi and stayed with her and her younger sister, Mahiro, in the mountains. He finally finds happiness with Mayumi but it is short-lived, as she is assassinated. Mahiro at first believes it was Kyo and thus swears to kill him, but it is later revealed to be Chinmei.  Muramasa is several hundred years old, but appears young due to a technique called "Sei", used by Mibu elders to stay alive indefinitely. Unfortunately for Muramasa, even his Sei is being wasted away by a deadly illness. He has attained Satori, which allows him to read the thoughts of others. He is also a powerful swordsman, as strong as Kyo. The illness is later reveal to be called the Death Disease, a design flaw in all Mibu constructs. The disease disintegrates their bodies. After helping Kyo in his mission, he dies of the disease and crumbles away into the wind above his wife's grave.  Before catching the Death Disease, Muramasa was probably the most powerful Mibu. Even Kyo admits that Muramasa was above him.

Robotnik is the villain of the Sonic universe in most games, a genius scientist with an IQ of 300. He is always attempting to destroy parts of the world to make it home to his super-city so he can then attain world domination, only to be stopped by [Sonic](https://anilist.co/character/2882) and his friends every time. On two occasions he has used a scientific experiment and an ancient monster to achieve his plans, both of which fail ([Shadow the Hedgehog](https://anilist.co/character/6379) and [Chaos](https://anilist.co/character/14758), respectively). Arthur Hawkins, known as Arthur Hopkins in the Japanese anime, is the American best friend of Solomon Muto and the grandfather of Rebecca.

Jean Louis Bonaparte, known as Napoleon (ナポレオン) in the original Japanese language version, is a recurring character. His character is based on Napoleon I. In the English version, Bonaparte is voiced by Mike Pollock, while Naoki Tatsuta takes the role in the Japanese version.    Vice-Chancellor of Duel Academy beginning with the second season, Bonaparte is a stout man hailing from Paris, France who originally attempted to demolish the Slifer Red dormitory at every opportunity, but was repelled by Crowler. He later dueled alongside Crowler against Maximillion Pegasus for a job at Industrial Illusions, after they falsely believed themselves to be fired by Chancellor Sheppard. Following Duel Academy's arrival in an alternate dimension, he encourages the students to save his son Marcel from the Duel Spirit Yubel. Previously married, Bonaparte's son is in the custody of his ex-wife. After Marcel is rescued, Bonaparte apologizes for neglecting him and leaving his wife for his career, and the two return to France at the end of the season.    In both the English and Japanese versions, Bonaparte speaks French on occasion. In the latter, he also refers to himself with the archaic &quot;wagahai,&quot; and ends the majority of his sentences with &quot;de aru&quot;. In the English anime, he frequently uses the French terms &quot;feux pas&quot; and &quot;au revoir&quot;.    Bonaparte plays a Toy Army deck, which includes cards that detail Napoleon I's conquests and coronation, such as the monsters Toy Soldier and Toy Emperor. His Toy Soldier cards are physically weak, but he supplements them through Forced March and Fife and Drum Corps, as well as a variety of Trap Cards.    

He is the new percussion instructor for the Kitauji Concert Band, hired by Noboru Taki, his then college classmate, to help with the band on their path to the national band competition. He is an alumnus of Kitauji High School and a former student of Tohru Taki. He is fun-loving, athletic, and humorous, and is consequently highly popular with his percussion students. 

Koshian (越庵 Koshian) is the Buddhist priest and caretaker of the Tariki Hongan temple where Keiichi and the Goddesses reside. After witnessing Belldandy's "spiritual enlightenment", Koshian left on a pilgrimage to seek his own enlightenment, leaving his temple and house in the care of Keiichi and Belldandy. He returns in the anime at one point after traveling for eleven months, but soon gets caught up in a fight and leaves again. After returning a second time, he appears briefly, kicking Belldandy (who at that time has an evil mark on her head) and Keiichi out; but when Belldandy gets her goddess licences back, she and Keiichi return to the temple.
