Baki Hanma (範馬 刃牙, Hanma Baki) is the main character and protagonist of the Baki the Grappler franchise. He is the son of Yujiro Hanma and Emi Akezawa. ~!Baki is also the half-brother of Jack Hanma.!~

~!The main character, and son of Yujiro Hanma. He has been training in martial arts since the age of three, and has trained under various teachers and coaches throughout his life. At the age of thirteen, he decided to take his training into his own hands and left the coaches to perform more intense training in his father's footsteps. He later meets with his father and becomes disillusioned as to his father's true character, and afterwards, aims to defeat and kill him. His fighting style is called "Total Fighting" and includes techniques from many different martial arts. He fights Arudi Regan in round 1, Zool in round 2, Igari Kanji in round 3, and Retsu Kaioh in round 4 before facing his brother in round 5 which are the finals of the tournament. He eventually develops the ogre/demon face on his back when fighting his brother, but manages to suppress it. Unlike Yujiro, he chooses to control his killing intent and fight his battles fair and honorably no matter what the outcome.Many of Baki's unusual training methods often earn him the admiration of many of the fighters of the underground arena for example Shadowboxing, or visualizing fighting an opponent, is a big part of Baki's regimen sometimes his visions take an almost corporeal form and given he can easily remember and replicate any technique he sees this gives him a huge edge over his opponents as he can fight them and learn their weakness before actually fighting them. Baki has encounters with all the escaped convicts in the "Search of Our Strongest Hero" series, has just defeated Biscuit Oliva, and is now faced with a new challenge against the prehistoric man Pickle. He is currently waiting for his fight with Pickle after Retsu and Katsumi are defeated. He had a shadow boxing visualization fight with a T-Rex prior to the Katsumi/Pickle fight. He has been recently defeated by Pickle in the Korakuen area.!~

Somewhat the 'leader' of the Ping Pong Club. He has a strange demeanor and enjoys any conversation or subject involving his glorious 'ass', of which he is very proud. Contrary to the belief that his strange and perverted attitude would repel girls, it actually attracts them (as well as his good friend Izawa).

Maruo is a friend of Kazuto&#039;s and tries to give hints to Narue. He is also a childhood friend of Yagi.    

Shigeru is a character who is roughly the same age as Satoshi (though Shigeru is assumed to be slightly older, due to the height difference between the two); they were playmates and next-door neighbors when they were younger, but drifted apart when they both discovered their love of Pokémon, according to the video game. At the start of the series his rivalry with Satoshi becomes a recurring motif. Like the video games, manga and anime, Shigeru is described as an overconfident and arrogant trainer who's knowledge of Pokemon stems from being the grandson of Professor Ookido. As Satoshi's rival, he always seems to be a few steps ahead of Satoshi, much to Satoshi's chagrin.  Prior to his introduction, Shigeru usually comes off as an arrogant show-off in the beginning. However, his personality begins to change as he matures. Later on in the series, he grows into a nicer and more humble person in both the anime and the video games. Throughout most of the series, he and Satoshi have an ongoing rivalry through most of the Kanto and Johto League sagas. However, this would soon diminish at later point. After his crushing defeat at the Indigo Plateau Pokemon League, his attitude towards Ash, who finished in the top sixteen far ahead of his rival, changes significantly after this turning point. His dealings with Pokemon seem to mature, as he starts travelling alone, wanting to better reestablish himself as a trainer.  His rivalry with Satoshi comes to a head at the Johto Leaue Silver Conference semi-finals, both trainers giving it their all, with Satoshi narrowly coming out the victor. After his lost, he then decides to no longer compete for the same goal as Satoshi, but instead dedicate his career into Pokemon research. Although no longer Satoshi's rival, he does tend to motivate Satoshi on ways of bettering himself as a trainer, at times scolding Satoshi when becoming overconfident over his wins particularly in the Orange League and Battle Frontier. In a sense, Shigeru is what urges Satoshi to start yet another new journey by traveling to the different regions across the world, such as Johto and Sinnoh. Despite his many absences in the series, Shigeru continues to remain a vital character, and one of Satoshi's most valued friends. He is bound to make more appearances during the Diamond and Pearl Saga, since he seems to have decided to be both a Pokémon trainer and a Pokémon researcher there. He guest-appears in episode forty-five of the Diamond and Pearl series helping to preserve a group of highly endangered Shieldon with Professor Rowan and his team.   __Pokemon ( on hand )__   Squirtle &gt; Wartortle &gt; Blastoise  Squirtle was the first Pokemon that Shigeru received, and has evolved into a Wartortle and then into Blastoise. It has never been removed from Shigeru’s active lineup and is his most powerful Pokemon, having defeated Satoshi’s Heracross and Bayleef. However, Blastoise was defeated by Satoshi’s Charizard despite having a clear Type advantage because Ash’s Charizard was more experienced. When Shigeru left on his new journey after the Johto League, he only took Blastoise with him, a gesture Satoshi would follow when leaving for Hoenn, only taking Pikachu and leaving the rest with Professor Oak. His Squirtle was seen only in a flashback in the episode "Challenge of the Samurai" while the Wartortle was never seen.    Doduo &gt; Dodrio Dodrio evolved from a Doduo that Shigeru had previously caught, and is one of the few Pokemon that he continued to carry with him after retiring from competition to become a Pokemon researcher.    Eevee &gt; Umbreon Umbreon evolved from Shigeru’s Eevee. Umbreon's main assets are its Agility, and it also seems to be Shigeru’s favorite Pokemon. In Episode 118, "The Rivalry Revival", Shigeru uses his Eevee in a battle against Satoshi's Pikachu. Takeshi remarks that the Eevee has bright eyes and a shiny coat of fur, revealing its high level of experience. Eevee ultimately defeated Pikachu, using a Take Down to knockout its opponent. Kenji noted that Shigeru 's Eevee was ready to evolve into a Stage-1 Pokemon, which happened before the events in Episode 173, "Power Play", in which Satoshi and his companions discover that the Eevee had evolved into an Umbreon. Samurai&#039;s sole appearance came in Challenge of the Samurai. Ash and Misty were traveling through Viridian Forest, and Ash intended to catch more Pok&eacute;mon. He was just about to catch a Weedle when Samurai jumped out of the bushes and threatened him with his sword, demanding to know if Ash was from Pallet Town. Samurai challenged Ash to a battle, having already lost to Gary and the other two trainers from Pallet.    In the confusion caused by Samurai&#039;s yelling and sword-waving, the Weedle escaped. Samurai insulted Ash, saying that he is a &quot;bad Trainer&quot;. Because of this, they started a battle. Samurai&#039;s powerful Pinsir knocked out Ash&#039;s Pidgeotto, but Ash&#039;s Metapod used Harden to damage Pinsir&#039;s pincers. Samurai sent out his own Metapod, and the two Pok&eacute;mon, being unable of using any move besides Harden, were locked in a complete stalemate for hours.    Their match was interrupted by a Beedrill swarm, apparently angered by Ash&#039;s attack of the Weedle earlier. The Beedrill snatched Ash&#039;s Metapod and flew off. The trio hid in Samurai&#039;s cabin, where the boy continued to berate and insult Ash, saying that Ash is not a good trainer to his Pok&eacute;mon, now for how he didn&#039;t immediately help Metapod when the Beedrill attacked.    Samurai did, however, gain respect for Ash when he used his newly evolved Butterfree to put the Beedrill to sleep by using Sleep Powder.    At the end of the episode, Ash, Misty, and Samurai say good-bye, and the two boys say that they will battle again some day.    He made a cameo appearance with his Pinsir in the second opening theme, The Rivals, and its English dub counterpart, Pok&eacute;mon World. 

Anime: Todd first appeared in Pok&eacute;mon Paparazzi. He had recently become famous after he took a picture of a supposedly extinct Aerodactyl (coincidentally the same one that tried to eat Ash, who was also on the photo, albeit blurred). He was hailed for being able to &quot;capture any Pok&eacute;mon on film&quot;. After seeing the article in a magazine, Meowth misunderstood the wording, not seeing the &quot;on film&quot; part. Team Rocket disguised themselves and hired Todd to capture Pikachu.    Todd set out to capture the perfect picture of Pikachu, which irritated Ash - the two boys eventually settled their differences, however. Todd traveled with the group for a short time, but left at the end of The Breeding Center Secret before Ash, Misty, and Brock boarded the ship for Cinnabar Island.    Later, Todd showed up again in Moving Pictures up in the mountains of Johto, trying to capture a picture of the legendary bird, Articuno. After successfully photographing the Legendary Pok&eacute;mon in Freeze Frame, Todd went his own way once again.     Manga: In Pok&eacute;mon Adventures, Todd is a reporter and photographer on assignment at the Battle Frontier. There, he encountered the eccentric young Emerald - the strange young man ended up saving Todd from a wild Sudowoodo. He then followed the events in the Battle Frontier, aiding Emerald along with Latias and Latios during the crisis. At the end, Professor Oak asked him if he could work with him and if he could go to an island where there are lots of Pok&eacute;mon, and take pictures of them. 

Gantetsu is a Poké Ball smith who lives in Hiwada Town. In addition to making his own custom Balls out of Apricorns, he studies Poké Ball mechanics, and is known far and wide as a Poké Ball expert. He is Chie's grandfather.

He first appeared in the Lugia saga that comprised of The Mystery is History, A Parent Trapped and A Promise is a Promise. He has since appeared in number of episodes giving Butch and Cassidy  their mission briefings, though this was only as a vocal role in all except Oaknapped. People often get his name wrong, much like Butch. For example, he was called Dr. Samba by Cassidy in The Ole' Berate and Switch!. He also has a short temper.  Little is known about Namba. Because he does most of his work in a covert fashion, it is possible he is a fugitive from justice. It can be speculated that since he does order scientists and agents within Team Rocket, he is either very knowledgeable about his field or that he has been with the group for a while, climbing the corporate ladder at Team Rocket. Also, in the Japanese version of his appearances on Pokémon Chronicles, Namba demands Butch and Cassidy to capture rare Pokémon for something he calls the 'R Project.'  [credit to bulbapedia]

Yukinari Ookido is a Pokémon Professor and a major supporting character of the Pocket Monsters anime who lives and works at his research lab in Masara Town. He appears semi-regularly to give Satoshi advice to help him achieve his goal of becoming the greatest Pokémon Master.

Steven Stone (Daigo Tsuwabuki in the Japanese version of Pokemon) is the Elite Champion in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, and a powerful wandering Trainer in Emerald, having relegated his title to Wallace. He is a master of the Steel-type, with a Metagross being the cornerstone of his team.    Steven is the son of the president of the Devon Corporation, and he and his father both collect rare stones. Steven makes his home on Mossdeep, and when the Elite Four are beaten in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, he will have left a Beldum and a note for the player.     In the anime  Steven&#039;s only appearance in the Pokemon anime was in A Hole Lotta Trouble. He helped Ash, his friends, and Team Rocket escape from an underground cavern.    At the end of the episode, Ash vowed to train harder so one day he could be powerful enough to battle Steven.       In Pokemon Adventures  Steven met Ruby while looking through the Granite Cave. During a battle with wild Mawile, Ruby&#039;s Skitty bumped into one of Steven&#039;s Moon Stones, causing it to evolve.    Steven was well-aware of the danger Team Magma and Team Aqua presented, and extended an invitation to Ruby to join the fight against them. Steven invited him to help, but Ruby declined because he didn&#039;t like battling. The armlets on Steven&#039;s arms are devices he can chip away stone with, to grab and retrieve rocks he sees that are out of reach.    Later in the series, Steven confessed that he and his father, the owner of the Devon Corporation, knew about the schemes of Team Magma and Team Aqua quite long ago. Mr. Stone built the Submarine Explorer 1 so that Steven can seal the Seafloor Cavern and no one would be able to wake Kyogre and Groudon. The backup plan in case it fails would be to unseal Regirock, Regice, and Registeel.    Steven later assembles the rest of the Hoenn Elite Four in order to fight against Kyogre and Groudon. With the help of Sapphire&#039;s Wailord and Relicanth, Steven and the Elite Four unsealed the Regis. Steven took control of Registeel and gave the other two Regis to the other members of the Elite Four.    Knowing he would die in Kyogre and Groudon&#039;s battle, Steven stepped down from the position of Champion, and gave it back to Wallace, who was actually the true Champion while Steven had only been a runner-up. After Kyogre and Groudon returned to their respective domains, Steven apparently died from the strain of controlling the Regis, but was later revived under mysterious circumstances when Ruby released his Celebi.    Steven later traveled to Sinnoh to collect the rare stones found in the region. He had purchased a Villa but sold it to Platinum and returned to Hoenn at the start of the Platinum chapter.    Steven uses his Metagross to fly around Hoenn. Its magnetism allows him to float atop it. 

Kojirou is a member of the Rocket Gang, more specifically part of a trio with Musashi and Nyarth, that follows Satoshi and his friends around in the Pocket Monsters anime, usually trying to steal Satoshi's Pikachu.

Very little is known about Kosaburo's early life. At one point in time, he was training to become a Rocket member at the same time as Musashi, Kojiro, and Yamato. 
Yamato and Kosaburo were assigned together and now work as a team, capturing Pokémon for Team Rocket. 
There is a running gag, in which other characters usually call him by an incorrect name.    
Kosaburo was not seen with Pokémon in his possession until his third appearance; before that time, Yamato had always been the one to battle with her Pokémon. He's, however, has other skills typical of Rockets, including disguise and some physical prowess. 

Butch reappeared in JN095, running a bakery in a quiet coastal village alongside a female Meowth. He served Jessie, Meowth, and Wobbuffet after they ran into him, commenting that he had left Team Rocket and Cassidy after getting fed up with the routine.

The professor of Sinnoh. For new trainers in Sinnoh, he gives trainers three choices for their partner. He was also the man who gave Dawn her first pokemon, Piplup.

Fergus was one of the only Pok&eacute;mon Trainers who was able to make it through Mewtwo&#039;s storm and reach New Island, along with Ash, his friends, Neesha and Corey. When Mewtwo revealed himself to be the one who invited all the Trainers to New Island, Fergus was the first to speak out against it, claiming a Pok&eacute;mon could not be a Trainer. He tried using his Gyarados to battle Mewtwo, but the Psychic Pok&eacute;mon easily defeated it. Miki is a highly skilled and polite seventh grader who befriends Utena, despite their role as possible opponents in the duels. A piano player par excellence, Miki has fond memories of playing songs with his twin sister Kozue in his childhood, but her refusal to play with him in the present — the symbol of a much deeper rift — gives Miki a sense of loss. His crush on Anthy in the anime (but on Utena in the manga) develops when he realizes that they remind him of his estranged sister. In both adaptions, his drive to duel stems from a desire to find something to replace Kozue in his affections. All the females of the school, even older ones, idolize him, but Kozue threatens any girls who attempt to get too close to him. Likewise he is very protective of her, and so she tries to make him jealous by dating as many boys as possible. He is a member of the Student Council, his position appearing to be the council secretary. He frequently appears with a stopwatch in hand. Miki is also a member of the fencing club. ~!In the movie, Miki is shown as having a stronger relationship with Juri, and he more clearly is beginning to resent his sister. He and Kozue bathe together in one scene, in which he tells her that they can never be as close as they once were and she presses razor to his throat and accuses him of being a traitor. Philionel El Di Seyruun is the crown prince of Seyruun. He has two daughters: Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun and Gracia Ul Naga Seyruun (who now calls herself &quot;Naga the White Serpent&quot;). However, Gracia left after Phil&#039;s unnamed wife was killed by an assassin. Phil also has two brothers, Christopher Wil Brogg Seyruun and Randionel Seyruun, and a nephew, Alfred Seyruun. Though Phil&#039;s father Eldoran Seyruun is technically still the king, he is old, sickly, and bed ridden, so Phil now more or less runs the country.  Like his youngest daughter, Phil has a strong belief in justice, and he is also (by self-declaration) a pacifist. However, in spite of this claim, if Phil sees something he believes to be unjust, he will not hesitate to use force.  Unlike most of the Seyruun royal family, Phil has no magical powers, but he does have a lot of brute strength. He uses this mostly in the form of oxymoronic, justice-themed physical attacks, such as Pacifist Crush, Kindness to All Creatures Kick, Benevolent Giant Swing, and Goodwill Towards Man Smash. Vrumugun is the name given to a group of copy men created by Eris, who serve as antagonists during the first season of Slayers and the third novel.    In the novels, Eris used the Vrumuguns to try and capture Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, and Zelgadis Greywords and bring them to Sairaag. However, she only sent one Vrumugun after them at a time, sending a new copy every time one was killed. This greatly confused Lina and co. at first, because no matter how many times they killed Vrumugun, he kept re-appearing (they had thought that Vrumugun was a single person, not a group of copies). The Vrumugun copies disappeared once their controller died. In the anime, he was grouped with Zangulus as they tried to capture Gourry and Lina. However, while Zangulus was short-tempered and arrogant, Vrumugun was quiet, collected, and took everything seriously. Strangely in episode 18, after Zelgadis kills a group of clones, Vrumugun vanishes and is never seen again for the remainder of season 1.  There is much ambiguity as to who the original Vrumugun is, since they never say specifically in any of the Slayers mediums. In the novels, there is evidence to suggest that Eris is the original. She (and possibly the original Rezo) created them, and her last name is also Vrumugun. In the anime, on the other hand, Eris' last name is never mentioned, nor is it ever hinted that she is the original. Furthermore, at the end of Slayers NEXT, we see, albeit only briefly, a person very much resembling Vrumugun at Zangulus and Martina's wedding. He is the one of the alien antagonists who come to Earth, wishing to "reclaim it."

Tart is kind of a crybaby and hates to be called chibi/chibiko (Japanese for runt, or midget) in Tokyo Mew Mew. He argues a lot with Ichigo and usually resorts to name calling. Overall, he is a rude and childish alien who likes to have fun, and make people cry. He is more prone to laughing out of true amusement (as opposed to Pie's solemn expression and Quiche's 'evil smirk'), and throws occasional tantrums when things don't go the way he expected them to. His energetic, childishly curious personality is comparable to that of Bu-Ling Huang.

Although he's known throughout most of China in being a kindly old magician, Hou uses this masquerade as a way to hide his true occupation, in which he's really an ancient bloodthirsty assassin who has no remorse for the victims he slays. He participated in the first two Toshinden tournaments and afterwards, visited a humanoid ape named Bayhou. He passed down his iron claws to the creature and trained him in his fighting style.  It is believed that Hou was then killed by Bayhou, since he carries a skull on his back that resembles the shape of Hou&rsquo;s head and also because Hou&#039;s character model, used as a hidden outfit for Bayhou, depicts him as a zombie with a bloody claw mark on his back.

Insector Haga is the Japanese champion at Duel Monsters (Magic and Wizards in the original manga), hailing from East Japan. He is a cunning trickster who has no qualms about cheating or misconduct in or around his duels. Despite this, he is actually a very talented duelist who plays with a deck of Insect cards.  Haga develops into a rival of Yugi Mutou. He is jealous and adores insects, for his deck is mainly insect-type monsters and insect-related magic and trap cards.    Source: Wikipedia.

Pryce (Yanagi in original Japanese language versions) is in charge of the Glacier Badge, and resides in Mahogany Town. He is an expert on Ice types. His signature Pokémon are Swinub and Piloswine. Pryce's name may be derived from the word ice.  In the anime Pryce starts out as a cold and abrasive man who believes that Pokémon are for battling and nothing more, as a result of an incident from his youth. During a storm, his beloved Piloswine disappeared and Pryce believed it to have abandoned him. During an encounter with Ash, the two of them are trapped underground and come across a frozen Piloswine, which turns out to be Pryce's. Realizing that it had tried to find healing herbs (the two had previously been badly burned by a Magmar), Pryce reconciles with his reunited Pokémon and turns over a new leaf, once again seeing Pokémon as friends. Afterwards, Pryce battles Ash having his Dewgong defeated by Cyndaquil and Piloswine by Pikachu winning Ash the glacier badge.  In the manga Possessing an ability to control his ice sculptures as if they were real Pokemon, for training, Pryce is the oldest Gym Leader of Johto and lives by himself, rarely visited. For some reason he, like Whitney, was not visited by Suicune like the rest of the Gym Leaders. Pryce's main Pokemon is his Swinub.   ~!It turns out Mask of Ice, the villain of the Gold/Silver/Crystal chapter is actually another ice puppet created by Pryce and controlled by him (via Pokegear when necessary). Pryce's plan is to use Ho-oh and Lugia's feathers and create a special Pokeball with which Celebi, a time-traveling Pokemon could be caught. His aim is to repair his old mistake as a trainer, which caused a death of two of his Pokemon just before their egg hatched. Pryce actually succeeds in all of his plans and disappears in the stream of time after Celebi escapes. He does realize his mistakes however and his life-long pain gets healed. James Carter Cathcart (born January 4, 1954 in West Long Branch, New Jersey), often credited as Carter Cathcart or Jimmy Zoppi, is a American voice actor, bassist and vocalist.
He's best known for voicing Gary in Pokémon as well as James, Meowth and Professor Oak since Season 9. He also is known for voicing Vector in Sonic X.

On April 17th, 2023, he announced on his CaringBridge page that he will be retiring from voice acting and script adapting after Pokémon Journeys: The Series has finished, following his diagnosis with throat cancer in late January 2023.
