Tsubasa, the title character, is a boy who was destined to become a born soccer player. His name translates to “Big Sky Wings”. His love and dedication towards the game are​ truly great. With his cheerful and positive personality, he overcomes many hardships in his quest to become a world-class star player. He made many friends everywhere he goes; even some ill-tempered players are fascinated by his friendliness. All his shots were powerful and his techniques are unique and were impossible to follow. 


A mysterious member of the Phantom Troupe, Feitan is attired in what one would expect from a bandit - dark clothes with a skullhead scarf that covers his mouth. Feitan seldom speaks, but when he does, there's usually a word missing. Feitan's first language most likely isn't Japanese, but he has shown to be rather proficient in the Chinese language. He is one of the original members hailing from Meteor City. 

One of the two examiners that presided over the second stage of the Exam. Her exam topic was to prepare a piece of sushi for her to taste. If it met up to her stringent expectations, the candidate would pass.

Hikaru is initially presented as being unpleasant, a brawler, and a tougher talker than Madoka. But once she becomes friends with Kyosuke, it is revealed that she&#039;s actually very kind and energetic. She accidentally sees Kyosuke perform an impressive physical feat using &quot;The Power&quot;, and ends up falling for him quite hard.     She always refers to him by the english word &quot;darling&quot;. She tends to revert to a form of baby talk, which is a signal she&#039;s extremely immature and shielded. She has an unrequited love for Kyosuke, and has been Madoka&#039;s best friend for several years since she and Yusaku Hino were the only ones who were never afraid of Madoka.     Her name refers to the brightness of the sun, and of a sparkling personality. Hikaru is two years younger than Ayukawa and Kyosuke, and has the same birthday as Kyosuke.

A genius swordsman of the Shinsengumi and master of the Tennen-rishin ryu sword style. Okita was the captain of Shinsengumi's First Unit. In the OVA, he often fought together with Saito and was involved in the Ikedaya Affair in 1864. On one of his night encounters with Kenshin, he eagerly draws his sword and comments that Kenshin's Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryuu gets better every time he sees it.

An orphan raised at a martial arts dojo in his home country of China, Cancer was bullied by the other pupils, but was determined to become as strong as he could in order to put the dojo on the map. Unfortunately, that's when the Destrons  (Decepticons) came along, and Cancer saw joining them as an opportunity to achieve this goal. Alas, Cancer got a little lost in the opportunities he was offered to run wild and be the "tough guy" for the first time, and with the husband-and-wife team of Giga and Mega leading the villains, he has found a sense of family in the Decepticons that he had never enjoyed before. But Cancer doesn't really want to hurt anyone, and the evil of the Destrons is steadily growing less and less palatable for this troubled youth.  As a Destron Headmaster Junior warrior, Cancer is bonded to a Transtector from the planet Master, which takes the form of a bipedal crab monster. He is heir to the powerful martial arts technique known as Chōryūken ("Super Dragon Fist", which involves… kicking the opponent), a skill that greatly impresses his doting surrogate mother, Mega. He considers his fellow Headmaster Juniors Wilder and Bullhorn genuine friends, and is partnered up with the diminutive Browning, who calls him "boss" and follows his every command.
