Daichi is in the same class as Hibiki and a close friend. When things turn for the worse, Daichi’s cheerful personality supports Hibiki. Daichi is a deep thinker, often examining the social implications and morality of a situation farther than the other characters. Even though he seems spineless, he tends to cast away his cowardice in the blink of an eye when he is faced with extreme adversity. Unfortunately, his low self confidence limits him achieving even greater heights. He seems to do poorly in school, and to be forgetful at times; Forgetting his exam slip and cell phone at his seat at the beginning of the game. 

When the world is under attack by a monstrous and seemingly unstoppable enemy, the only way to fight back is with warriors who have already died! Sidestepping a gruesome fate in a subway crash during an earthquake, two young men and a girl find themselves recruited into the ranks of the Devil Summoners and given the ability to literally call up demons to battle against the mysterious Septenriones! Can Hibiki, Daichi and Io survive in a war where demons face demons under human command? Where a person's death can be seen in advance? Where every living being is just a game piece to be saved or expended? And where each clash comes with a clock counting down to Armageddon?<br><br>

The setting of Devil Survivor 2 spans the whole country of Japan. It tells the story of Japanese high-school students who receive emails from a website foretelling their friend's deaths. Mysterious creatures invade the country, and the students enter a pact, enabling them to summon demons from their cell phones with a special Devil Summoning App.
