A human youth raised by the seraphim who dwell in Elysia, a village isolated from the outside world. He possesses very high resonance and is able to perceive seraphim. When he was a child, he came upon the Celestial Record which chronicles tales of the Shepherd and the ancient ruins. Since then, he has been fascinated by antiquity. He is well-versed in the stories and history of the continent and is able to read the ancient language. Pure and gentle-hearted, he cannot bear to ignore someone in need.

Sorey is a human youth who grew up among the seraphim, spiritual beings not visible to humans. 
Sorey believes in the folklore that says “long ago, every human was able to see the seraphim" and dreams of unraveling the ancient mystery to make the world a place where people and seraphim can live together in peace. 
 
One day, Sorey visits the human capital for the very first time. He becomes embroiled in an incident during which he pulls out a holy sword embedded in a rock and ends up becoming a Shepherd, one who casts away calamity from the world. 
He begins to realize the gravity of his mission, and his dream of coexistence between mankind and the seraphim becomes more intense— 
 
And thus, the Shepherd embarks on a journey with his companions.

Legends tell of a race of divine beings known as Seraphim, whose unseen influence is felt throughout the world. Those with the ability to commune with the Seraphim became known as "Shepherd," the most pure-hearted of which could even be granted a Seraphim's power. While some would praise these empowered Shepherds as living paragons, others would fear their strength and call them demons. Sorey is a young human who has spent his entire life in The Divine Forest, a holy place where he lives in harmony with many Seraphim. Enraptured by the legends within an ancient tome, he makes daily excursions into a nearby ruin in the hope of learning more about the Seraphim and their history, along with his Seraphim childhood friend Mikleo. One day, he is trapped by a cave-in alongside his friend and a young knight named Alisha, who is investigating a series of natural disasters that have been plaguing the world. When Sorey discovers that the Seraphim may be involved, he resolves to leave his home alongside Alisha and find the truth.
