Naru is a 14-year-old girl in her second year of middle school and has been best friends with Yaya since elementary school. She loves fairy tales and greatly idolizes the heroines in the stories. She sees herself as a girl who is average in every way possible, but desperately wishes to change herself to be more like the girls from the fairy tales she reads. She is timid by nature and is slightly jealous of some of her peers, including Yaya, Hana, and Tami, as she thinks of them to be more interesting than she is.

While she admires "Heroines" she continues to live a normal life until one moonlit night she meets a fairy. Reina Ueda is a Japanese voice actress and singer who is affiliated with 81 Produce. Beginning her career as a voice actress in 2012, her first main role was Naru Sekiya, the protagonist of the 2014 anime series Hanayamata. She is also known for her roles in video games such as Atelier Lydie & Suelle, Azur Lane, or Granblue Fantasy. She was one of the recipients of the Best New Actress Award in the 9th Seiyu Awards in 2015. She released a mini-album in 2016, and her first solo single in 2018.
