As a child she was raised by the Soviet Military, later becoming a TSF pilot in the Soviet Military’s Idol test unit of the 331st Special Experimental Development Corps. She pilots a multi-seater Su-37B, and her skills as a pilot far exceed anyone else’s. She and her fellow pilot, Inia, are known as the “Scarlet Twins”. She is fiercely loyal to the USSR, and extremely cold to those around her, but treats Inia as a sister, saying she is "Everything" to her. Her emotions towards Inia are somewhere between love and obsession. This coldness toward everyone causes the initial interactions with Yuuya and her to be very strained. 

~!A genetically-engineered psychic and a survivor of the top-secret UN plan Alternative III, she was originally created to attempt communication with the BETA, and joined the Soviet Army after Alternative III suffered massive losses and was declared a failure. She, like her "little sister" Inia (who is also part of the same Plan), wears limiters in the form of two hair clips. When she takes them off she goes berserk, wreaking devastation on BETA and allies alike.

This upbringing by the Soviet Army as a genetically engineered human specifically for the purpose of being the best fighter possible is the reason behind her fierce devotion to the USSR over her personal feelings. In addition, they perform brainwashing and erase her memory whenever her devotion would waver.!~ 

Since 1973, an invasion of aliens known as BETA upon Earth is driving human civilization into nearly collapse. Facing an enormous mass of enemy force, mankind has developed large humanoid arms called as Tactical Surface Fighters and deployed them to its defense lines through out the world. However, all those efforts could slow down defeats but could not stop BETA, and mankind is forced to abandon major area of the Eurasian Continent. For 30 years, mankind is bogged down in an endless war against BETA without any hopes of victory. 
In 2001, the Imperial Japan faces difficulties in the development of a next-generation main Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) as it defends the front lines of the Far East. The UN has proposed a joint development program between the Imperial Japan and the United States as a part of its international mutual development project of TSF, the Prominence Project. 
Yui Takamura, a surface pilot of the Imperial Royal Guards of Japan, is given responsibility for the project and sets off to Alaska. Meanwhile, Yuya Bridges, also a surface pilot of the US Army, was heading to the same destination. 
Yet they never knew that their encounter would change their destiny drastically. 
This story with exciting human dramas and robot actions takes place in the development of a new Tactical Surface Fighters, the most important and effective weapons against BETA, at a crisis of human extinction.

Nani Miceli is a Brazilian actress and voice actress.

In 1973, following the ruthless six-year-long Lunar War, the hostile alien species known as the BETA—Beings of Extra Terrestrial origin which are Adversary of the human race—invaded Earth, killing billions and decimating Eurasia. While BETA can be destroyed with conventional weapons, their laser-class is able to wipe out entire aircraft fleets, forcing mankind to develop giant combat suits called Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) to combat them.
 
Now in 2001, with the nations of Eurasia having fallen to the BETA, their survivors race to develop a new tactical surface fighter at a base in Alaska. Yuuya, an ace pilot with a bad attitude, is reassigned from the US army to the joint US/Japan TSF development project. There, he meets the imperial soldier Yui.
