Aspiring to become a pro. He was once injured and since then started preserving his body to a point he will step down after 80 pitches no matter what, and will not use his full strength in games that have no merit. Abe was his former catcher and he has some resentment towards him for not listening to his signs when pitching.

After a falling out with his middle school team, Mihashi enters Nishiura high school with no social skill, a warped opinion of himself, and every intention to quit baseball. The newly formed Nishiura baseball team, however, needs a pitcher, and they welcome him. Most enthusiastic is Abe, a domineering catcher with his own game issues. 
And so a battery every bit as complementary as it is dysfunctional is formed. If they can figure out how to work together, they might be the answers to each other's problems-and the team might be able to win.

Masaya Matsukaze is a Japanese actor, voice actor and radio personality. He was formerly affiliated with Big Apple, Radix Mobanimation Multicye Division and Varoque Works, and is currently affiliated with Aoni Production. He was born in Fukushima Prefecture and is now living in Tokyo. He is married to Emika Umemoto (ex-dental assistant) since August 2003.

One year before the beginning of the story. Kaguyama feels intimidated by Haruna&rsquo;s presence on the baseball team since he feels that his position as the ace pitcher is threatened. Kaguyama wants to quit, but Haruna talks him out of it after telling Kaguyama about his own past.
