A demoniac hunter that appeared at the race circuit; although he does not attack human beings, he still became one of XAT's prioritized targets and spends the first half of the series as a lone, mysterious figure being hunted by both Amalgams and the police force. He is often seen either talking to Elea or whittling a statue of the Virgin Mary.    Joseph Jobson was an Outsider that had been adopted by a church after his mother died frozen to death in the countryside. He spent his childhood in a tightly-knit community, helping the priest look after the other orphans' needs, tend to their home and helping people in need. After the nearby Jever river overflowed, the church became crowded with homeless citizens and wounded seeking refuge - the agitation eventually driving the old priest (who also was Joseph's paternal figure) to death by exhaustion. It was shortly thereafter that he met Magwald Xargin - then an enthusiastic researcher hoping to distribute medication to the impoverished population. It was through Xargin (and his hospitalization after the church was burned by xenophobic citizens) that Joseph met his elder sister, Alexandra 'Sasha' Jobson. For the next few weeks, Joseph developed a close friendship with Xargin, with whom he shared a deep desire to help those in need. However, the medication they provided to the bereaved population and Outsiders (even going as far as trying to smuggle them out of Xargin and Sasha's university - then led by Victor Statchus) proved ineffective and one night, Sasha was beaten to death by Outsider-hating citizens. It was then, through the letter that she had left behind, that Joseph learned that Sasha's research was primarily focusing on military-oriented cybernetics.    After Xargin rebelled against Victor, Joseph tried to stop his erstwhile friend and was mortally wounded - however, in a last plea, Joseph tried to convince Xargin that life was still worth living. In response, the former scientist infected the teen with nanomachine-infested blood, turning him into an amalgam. The next day, Victor Statchus gave him the GARM motorcycle and entrusted him with tracking down the now renegade Magwald Xargin.    Because he had been given Xargin's blood, Joseph is considered as a good candidate for the role of Blassreiter (the strongest Amalgam ever in existence); however, his extraordinary sense of self-control allows him to retain his sanity, at the cost of remaining weaker than other, more 'open-minded' opponents like Xargin or Beatrice.    Years later, Joseph, now with a trademark scar running across his right eye, appeared at the circuit where Gerd Frentzen was competing in order to intercept a runaway Amalgam. The pursuit ends almost in tragedy and turns Gerd into an Amalgam. The change earns him both Gerd and Hermann's anger and although he only attacks Amalgams, he becomes one of XAT's primary targets (he then becomes known as 'Blue' due to his body color). It was after one of his run-ins with the police forces that he befriends Malek, Amanda's adopted brother, with whom he shares similar experiences of bullying and social isolation. Although Malek eventually becomes an Amalgam to sate his desire for justice, he nevertheless tries to bring the young boy back to his senses, even going as far as taking a bullet intended for him. Both were later captured by XAT and brought in for examination.    Joseph's arrest was short-lived, though, as Elea freed him from the laboratory and allowed him to leave the compound in the middle of an Amalgam breakout. He later meets with Amanda, then (apparently) the only XAT survivor, before the two are taken in by the highly secretive Zw&ouml;lf organization. He is then reunited with the revived Sasha (who now bore white hair and a cybernetic implant in her left eye) and agrees to receiving the Pale Horse physical enhancement program, which will theoretically allow him to develop greater strength at the cost of his own self-control. The experiment later proves successful, turning himself into a berserker-like Blassreiter, with red outlines instead of blue ones.    In his Amalgam form, Joseph can make use of an energy whip, which he can also turn into a narrow-bladed sword. He also uses the GARM motorcycle (masquerading as a Yotsubishi custom model), which he can fuse with once in his Amalgam form.

Yasuhiro is one of the more cheery, laid-back students, though a bit odd as well. However, he is generally not well-liked and he himself has openly admitted that he has no friends, being quite cowardly, lazy, slow-witted, and having a habit to act selfishly. Notably, he is mentioned to be very clumsy with money and he has constant problems with massive debts.

He's also quite gullible, and at first acts laid-back about the killing game, thinking it's some sort of a prank. However, after realizing it is real, he turns much more panicky and he is generally considered useless by the other students. However, he does treat his fellow classmates with general friendliness, going so far as to add the suffix "-chi", an affectionate term for dear friends in Japanese, to the end of everyone's last name (except for Sakura Ogami, whom he is afraid of and just calls with the insulting nickname "Ogre").

He is often nicknamed as Taku by his close friends and seems romantically involved with Mutsumi Akiyoshi of the girls' team. Fujiwara also appears to be very close to his long-time friend, Miura Ranmaru.    He was involved in an incident where he was provoked into punching the coach in his first year. The coach has since transferred to another school and Mizuho's boys basketball team was banned from any tournament for a year. He is not to be mistaken with Initial D's Takumi Fujiwara.    He has an old injury on his right knee which came from one of his games involving Miura and was ordered by Anzaki to rehabilitate his knee and make it more flexible to improve his playing ability in time for the prefectural tournament.    Fujiwara is the captain of Mizuho basketball team and plays the position of point guard. He attended Mizuho Junior High and was Miura's teammate at that time as well.

Mikami works as a lawyer, and was bullied for standing up for what is right when he was younger in school. He was an excellent student and did well academically. He became a prosecuting agent to impose the punishment that criminals deserved. Mikami lives alone and likes to work out consistently, even on New Year's Day. He's maniacally rigorous and punctual, and overall he's a talented and intelligent person who has the tendency to act in a way that is described as "Kira-like".

His real name is Victor Hartmann; also spelled in some translations as Hilshire (which is what he is know as in the show). An agent of Section 2, and Triela's handler and a former Europol detective, Hilshire prefers a hands-off approach to Triela and, like Jose, he dislikes heavy use of conditioning. During his earlier days as a Europol detective, he was denied engaging a child-torturing group in the frontline, as commented by his superior being "too naive" and incapable of handling the pressure. True to his boss's description of his personality, he could be seen whimpering excessively over a live footage of the torturing session, and became mentally depressed.

Quite often he prefers spending his time defending the streets and avoiding any paper work involved (hence a running joke of him &quot;not turning in his reports.&quot;) Although he never really shows it, Daisuke is quite compassionate and has a strong sense of justice. However, he has deep and painful memories of the vanishing of his mother and his father (a politician) being murdered by an android. The only memoir of his father is a bullet pendant he wears around his neck.

Illumi is [Killua](https://anilist.co/character/27/Killua-Zoldyck)'s eldest brother. He is an experienced assassin, whom along with his father was responsible for Killua's training and upbringing. During the Hunter Exam, Illumi masked his appearance and used an alias, using special pins to change his entire facial structure to the point where he could only be recognized by his voice. His oppressive evil aura makes even Killua fearful and wary whenever he approaches Illumi.

An assistant of Enma Ai who appears to be a handsome young man with one eye covered by hair. He can manifest a single, very large eye that can be directed anywhere, allowing him to see through walls. This manifests as an eye on a wall. The large eye can also be used as a weapon, by projecting intense flashes of light. When so required, Ichimoku Ren becomes a blue straw doll by kissing a pendant he wears around his neck. He is sometimes referred to as "Moku" or "Ichimoto Ren".  ~!  It is later revealed that Ichimoku Ren is a tsukumogami, an artifact which has gained sentience after a long time of existence. In Ren's case, he was once a katana, forced to be aware and watch whatever was done with him. He was given his current form(s) by Ai, who collected him after he was abandoned on a battlefield. Ai claims she came to find him because there is something that Ren is looking for, a fact perhaps manifested in Ichimoku Ren's occasional puzzlement and inability to understand the things humans do. When she IS around other guys, he can get very jealous. He loves her very much and always worries about her, and wants to be sure she is safe. Sakuya wants Aine to be with him always. He helps them escape from Zakuro by using his Hell Ring to create a fake murder intent which leads Zakuro away to Mt. Fuji.!~

Shane McDougal is the younger twin brother of Kane McDougal and a member of the Parabellum's crew.  Shane is identical to his older twin with green eyes and light brown hair in the same style. One difference between them is that Shane has a small tuft of hair that frequently flips upward. Though he displays the same calm and friendly personality as Kane while impersonating him, Shane also appears to display this personality outside of impersonation. He also appears to display a hint of self-praise.   ~!At some point, Ironbeard had Shane switch places with Kane in order to learn how the Bentenmaru was getting on under its new captain. A teenager who is an expert in knife throwing. During his stay with Nijū-Mensō, his role during a job was usually more in the execution stage than the planning or preparation stage. He was the one who originally shortened "Chizuko" to "Chiko", a nickname which Chiko quickly picked up on. Chiko calls him Ken-nii-chan (lit. older brother Ken) as he appeared to be the youngest member of the band save Chiko, and the two were very close. He was the one who taught her to throw knives.    ~!He lost the vision in his left eye after being attacked by Tiger. After the train incident he went off on his own after waiting several days for Nijū-Mensō to come back for him. Although he was once cheerful, he appears to harbor bitter feelings toward Nijū-Mensō for abandoning him and Chiko for having companions who alleviated the loss of Nijū-Mensō. A talented oboe player who falls for Nodame at first sight (oblivious to her true nature) and performs the inaugural solo of the R☆S orchestra. Because he tends to be phlegmatic and quiet, many members of the R☆S orchestra think of him as &quot;samurai-like&quot;.     Though he is crushed and distracted after learning about Nodame&#039;s actual nature, Kuroki becomes a good friend to both Nodame and Chiaki and goes on to study abroad in France with them. Once there, he has much difficulty adjusting to the language, people, and culture, making it hard for him to socialize and make friends.     His awkward and quiet demeanor earned him the scorn and nickname &quot;Glauque&quot; from Tanya (meaning dark and depressing, also means green/blue-ish). However they do seem to warm up to each other later. Kuroki later becomes a member of the Roux-Marlet Orchestra conducted by Chiaki.
