Cobra&#039;s archenemy, Crystal Boy is a humanoid cyborg with a golden skeleton, and a body made from indestructible glass. He works for the mysterious Pirate Guild. Crystal Boy&#039;s signature weapon is a claw he can attach to his right hand. It can crush anything, and he also uses it for slitting his victims&#039; throats. The claw has a built-in laser gun, and can be used as a grappling hook, or fired as a projectile.

When Utopia More discovers an ancient record that holds the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe, she becomes the target of the ruthless Gypsy Doc of the Pirate Guild. Utopia finds herself saved by the easy-going yet legendary space pirate, Cobra, whose custom made Psychogun makes him a force to be reckoned with. Together, the two of them attempt to stop Gypsy Doc (along with Cobra's revived arch-nemesis, Crystal Boy) and his efforts to steal the record and use its secrets to rule the universe.

On Sep 7, 2021, he announced his retirement from his longstanding role as the voice of [Daisuke Jigen](https://anilist.co/character/1045) after over 50 years of service. Kobayashi passed away on July 30, 2022 due to pneumonia.

Cobra, a notorious space pirate, is enlisted by bounty hunter Jane to rescue her sister from the strange being known as Crystal Boy, but then finds himself drawn into a complex struggle over the fate of a mysterious wandering planet.

Jeffrey Alan Winkless was an American film and voice actor and music composer. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. One of his younger brothers, Daniel Owen Winkless, worked with him on The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. He has done voice-overs for several anime titles including Doomed Megalopolis, Space Adventure Cobra, Vampire Hunter D, Crying Freeman and Lily C.A.T..  Winkless died of a brain tumor on June 26, 2006.

Cobra is a notorious Space Pirate with a laser gun as his left arm. But, he was tired of being chased by the agency in space and decided to lead a regular life by changing his face & being wiped of his memory. 
Three years later, he is a regular person leading a regular life. He is tired of his lifestyle. For fun, he goes to see a "Trip Movie" that allows him to see the dream of his choice. When he saw his "dream", he saw his memories of when he was the notorious Space Pirate Cobra. However, he didn't know that was his memories. As he is going home, he meets up with someone who had a grudge with him. There is a little scuffle, and learns that he actually has a laser gun on his left hand.
