Mother of Diana and Minnie May. Mrs. Barry has a severe personality, expecting her children to follow strict and sometimes unreasonable rules. She&#039;s quick to condemn Anne for mistakes (such as accidentally getting Diana drunk). Astro's cybernetic sister in the manga and anime series Astro Boy, as well as its many adaptions. She is a superhuman android with a naive, tomboyish personality.

She is the third robot addition to Astro's family, the first two being his parents. Uran is an extremely mischievous little girl who constantly lands her older brother in trouble. While lacking Astro's weaponry and propulsion systems, she is extremely powerful.

Like Astro, she is fully capable of experiencing human emotions (although she is somewhat immature), by being naughty or disobedient, even annoying.

Uran reappears in the 2003 series with the name Zoran, with a slightly altered look, including a more appropiate dress in order to appeal to more western audiences. She still retains her tomboyish personality and cheekiness, however is shown to be more adventurous (which instead often puts her in trouble). She is given the ability to communicate with animals and befriends a bird which she names Houdini, however is often jealous of her brother's powers (such as the ability to fly, as well as his popularity).

Ban's friend. A pretty girl who is always on her motorcycle. She has a strong spirit of giving advice to Ban.  

Harlock&#039;s only love interest, and quite possibly his wife, though this is only implied, not explicitly stated. Maya is the voice of Radio Free Arcadia, a pirate radio station which brings messages of hope and encouragement to the subjugated citizens of earth during the time of the Illumidas  occupation. After Harlock&#039;s defeat and rout back to earth, she sends messages via the airwaves for him to escape earth by any means possible, that he might one day return as earth&#039;s savior, and in doing so she makes a marked woman of herself (even more than before) in the eyes of the Occupation force. Harlock gets shot up quite badly attempting to save her on one occasion, and loses his right eye in doing so.    Maya creates Harlock&#039;s pirate uniform and the huge Jolly Roger he flies from the Arcadia as parting gifts for her love, but eventually dies by the hand of Muriguson for her part in the combined human/Tokargan revolt. Her symbol was a single red rose, and after her death, Emeraldas took up the rose as her own calling card. Mio is a young girl who lived in an abandoned temple with orphans who lost their parents in the war. She is kind and caring as she tends to put others in priority instead of herself.

She is a researcher at the Opus University of Gravitational Physics Institute. She worked alongside her father, Dr. Barbos, on developing a revolutionary hyper-warp device before she was taken captive by the Murphy Pirates.

Initially one of the "delinquents" Kozue hangs out with, she joins the volleyball club.

Named after the ancient goddess, she's the daughter of lady Hell/Mephisto, the witch/devil, and her personality can be described as sassy. She likes herself just the way she is, so she sets out to foil her parents' plan.

One of the Japan Best Twelve, she initially acts quite hostile towards Kozue and the other girls in the Best Twelve.

Mutou Reiko, born in Tokyo, Japan, was a voice actress. She is most well known for playing the voice of Elizabeth Taylor in Japanese dubbed television and films, and playing main characters in Marvelous Melmo (as Melmo), Astro Boy as Uran (Astro Girl in the English version), and Moomin (as Non Non). As a child, she found she enjoyed acting after joining the child acting troupe Gekidan Komadori.  Mutou died of acute heart failure on 29.10.2006.
