He is Hiyori's classmate. Unlike Hiyori, he is the tallest student in the class. He decides to sit in the back of the class so he won't disturb his classmates. Hirose is handsome, outgoing and begins to help Hiyori on the question of her shyness.   He is the person who gives to Hiyori the nickname 'Hiyorin'. 

One of the Twelve Shinsho, he wields the Hayagami Homura, the god of fire. He incites the coup d'etat against the princess so that the Shinsho can use their Hayagami without limitations and also frames Arata for the murder. At first, he leads the manhunt for Arata but later decides to accompany Arata on his quest.

He is a student of Class 3-A of Fumizuki Academy. He is good friends with Yūsaku, forming the &quot;Tokonatsu duo&quot;. He has appeared in the OVA of the series along with Yuusaku, where he ate the sesame dumpling Himeji made and was hit twice with German Suplex. Although they spread some false rumors about Class 2-F&#039;s business, Akihisa and Yuuji managed to set them up by framing Shunpei as a pervert for making &quot;lewd&quot; moves in public. In the tournament, he, alongside Yuusaku, managed to face Akihisa and Yuuji in the finals tournament (and still wearing the bra Akihisa had put him). He cheated by throwing an eraser on Akihisa&#039;s shokanjuu as a distraction, giving him an advantage. Although the duo got the upper hand, they were defeated by the combined efforts of Akihisa and Yuuji. His shokanjuu wears a kimono under a coat with 6 feathers and wields a giant pipe. He and Yuusaku later appear in the second season.

Jason is a reporter from Sorcerer Magazine. Jason is a very eccentric individual. He is star struck by nearly every famous Mage he sees. He likes the Mages to the extent of praising all their foolish actions. He frequently shouts "COOOOL!" every time he believes something cool happens, although usually it isn't as cool as he thinks. Tokugawa Shige Shige, the Seii taishōgun of Japan. His role in controlling the country is not great because of the passing of his late Father (and the Amanto invasion), so he looked up to Police chief Matsudaira as a sort of father-figure. He appeared in several episodes being led around by Matsudaira to cabaret clubs and so on and met Gintoki and the people of the Yorozuya through the progress and is often harassed by Otae and the girls.

Arai Kazuichi is the temporary homeroom teacher for the gang's class. He is nicknamed Pin and always is called that way (except Sawako who obeys the formalities and still calls him Arai-sensei). (The previous homeroom teacher had been said to be sick after he made Sawako do his work during the summer holidays.) He is a great fan of baseball as well as the school baseball team's coach. He used to be part of Kazehaya's father's league team, so he has known Shouta since when he was young. He had once said that he likes to 'interrupt' people. He nicknames Kazehaya and Sawako's found-beside-the-river puppy Pedro Martinez.

A handsome jock on the soccer team. Best friends with Taichi, with whom he shares a class. Has feelings for Fujishima.

He is extremely stingy with lending money.

Kagami was in America until second year of middle school and has recently come back to Japan in his first year of high school. He is determined to surpass "The Generation of Miracles" and become the number one. Along with Kuroko, they're the only two freshmen allowed to play in matches. (Even though it looks like they always disagree over things, he and Kuroko – nicknamed Seirin's Freshmen Duo – are actually on good terms.)

At the start of the story, Kagami is shown to have a huge potential – good build, height, skill in basketball – but his strongest weapon is his inhuman jump. With those jumps (that gradually get higher and higher every time), he manages to block his opponent's attacks.

He's really bad at studying and always get low grades, even in English. He lives alone, has an enormous appetite and is unexpectedly good at cooking. In the past, he was attacked by a dog, and that made him afraid of dogs.

On October 2, 2017, Ono announced his marriage from the last seven years prior in his blog post. His wife is a person who works outside the entertainment industry. On August 2020, Ono announced the birth of his first child.
