A boy whose job it is to bring all the goats of the village up to the mountain everyday so that they can eat grass and stay healthy. He becomes a very important friend to Heidi.

Hiyoshi Gou is a genius in inventing automatons. He has been interested in learning mechanics, robotics, and electromagnetism since a very young age. He was considered a genius by many university professors. He even created a funny little octopus-robot called Tako-chan ("Octo-One" in the dubbed version). But to his big brothers, Kenichi and Daijirou, Hiyoshi will always be a little brother, a child who never felt the warmth and love of a real father.

He also excels in swimming and diving. Because of his exceptional talents, Hiyoshi was asked to join the Voltes V Team as a technical handyman, specifically for repairs during field operations. His uniform was light green. Volt Frigate (Legs) is Hiyoshi's vehicle.

When Remi and Mattia meet up with a music teacher, it is revealed Mattia is a musical genius.    He later goes on to have a successful career in music. !~

This come to be something his roommate despises though it seems these characteristics are what prompted the head of the dorms to place him there.

Claudia LaSalle is a bridge officer in charge of weaponry and navigation of the SDF-1 Macross space fortress. She and fellow bridge officer Misa Hayase are close friends, and she is often there to give her friend advice on matters of the heart (especially when it comes to her confused feelings for Hikaru Ichijyo), something Misa is awkward in. She is in a close relationship with Roy Focker .

Conan is the only child of a group of refugees marooned on an island after humanity almost wiped itself out during World War III. When the show begins, he is living on the island with the last of the survivors, a man he calls "Grandpa".  Since Conan has been diving and fishing his whole life on the island, he can hold his breath for a very long time underwater. He carries a spear around with him that he uses to fight and catch fish with. Conan is also very strong, and uses his toes in many unorthodox ways. He uses his feet almost as often as his hands.   Conan is something of a wild boy since he grew up living only with his grandfather for human contact, but he is a kind person with an honest heart. He is especially very gentle with Lana, a girl who he befriends.

Majo, 30 years old is the attractive blonde female leader of the trio. Her character was written after the "vain villainess" stereotype, and accordingly, she often acts and speaks as if she were the most beautiful and intelligent character in the series. Of the trio, she is the most enthusiastic about capturing the "Dynamond", but ends up doing virtually nothing except bossing her two henchmen around, invariably cursing them after the "defeat" sequence in each episode as well as ending up naked through some misfortune. A mysterious alien woman with long blue hair who thrives on alcohol and possesses psychic and psionic powers, she is the last survivor of her home planet Jura, from which she was saved by Harlock. After her rescue, Miime became part of the crew of the Arcadia and pledged her life to Harlock in gratitude for saving her. She is Harlock's closest companion and confidante and is willing to protect him at any cost when needed. She does not appear to have a mouth (apparently a common feature in Juran physiology), but she is able to absorb liquids through the general mouth area. She has a quiet, sensitive personality and, although she does not have an official position aboard the Arcadia, she will help Doctor Zero tend to injured crew members in times of need. Her empathic nature makes her valuable in a counseling capacity (for example, when she consoles Miss Masu following the loss of the latter's estranged fiancé). She is musically skilled with the harp. In the 1999 Harlock Saga OVA, she is refashioned to appear as a human-looking woman (as well as given a different back story, making her a member of the Nibelung clan in the story and changing her musical instrument from the harp to a pipe organ with the ability to control time, but otherwise having the same abilities as in her previous incarnation), but she returns to her original appearance and origins in the 2002 Endless Odyssey OVA. From all appearances, the co-commanders of the Mazone&#039;s elite ten-dollar ho brigade, the pair&#039;s Twin Strategy involves anchoring the Arcadia with gravity beams, sending missiles and warships to blast it, and finally sandwiching it between two planets. Harlock&#039;s counter-strategy involves blasting the crap out of them and rescuing Mayu in spite of the odds, proving once again why this show is named Captain Harlock instead of Invincible Space Tramps.

Oyuki is the queen of Neptune, which in the series is a frozen, snowy planet populated entirely by women, as most of the men have to go off-planet to find work. As a child she used to hang out with Lum, Ran, and Benten when they were all in grade school. She is clearly patterned after the yuki-onna (literally "snow woman") of Japanese folklore. As such, she has the power to control and create ice, snow, and extreme cold. Typically dressed in a long, elegant kimono, Oyuki is soft-spoken, regal in demeanor and very slow to show anger. However, once roused to actually display her abilities she proves to be the most powerful character in the series. Because of the wrath she displays when angered, Oyuki is the only person in the entire galaxy that Ran genuinely fears. 

Sebastian is a 7-year-old boy from a French village near the mountains. Since he was born, he has been living with his adoptive grandfather, Cecil, and Anne-Marie. Sebastian is good-natured and energetic, but the children in town tease him because he doesn't have a real mother. Sebastian's deepest desires are to find his mother and to have a good friend.

Sindbad is a young righteous boy full of curiosity, who lives in Baghdad. His dream is to see the world outside Baghdad, and to do that he decides to go on a journey with his uncle.   In this journey he gets involved in a lot of dangerous situations, but his courage and brain always helps him out of trouble.     In Sindbad's life, family and friends are the most important, and he would do anything for their sake.
