Baron Ashura is the main henchman of Dr. Hell, the antagonist of Mazinger Z. In most adaptions, he/she is depicted as a disturbing half-man, half-woman combination who speaks with both a male and female voice (often depending on which face is shown on screen). In the original series, he/she was created by Dr. Hell from the remains of two mummified lovers, who had half their bodies crushed when their tomb collapsed.

The reigning monarch of the Mazone, she is determined to lead her people to make Earth their new home following the destruction of their home planet. As cruel as she is beautiful, Lafresia was once a wise and kind ruler, but the situation of her people leads her to change for the worse as the series progresses. She initially did not see Harlock as a major threat and even saved his life early on, but would later come to regret it. Faced with a plot to kidnap Mayu Oyama as a means to draw out Harlock, Lafresia resists at first, considering such a tactic as unethical at best, but she later gives in when faced with the threat of the Arcadia to the Mazone, which later causes discord among the alien invaders. During a final showdown against Harlock, it is eventually discovered that Lafresia is not Mazone, but human. Ichimatsu is the "lone wolf" of the Matsuno brothers. He has an affinity with cats and prefers to spend time with them rather than with people. For this reason, his brothers consider him to be antisocial, but in reality, Ichimatsu has difficulty expressing himself. Of the six brothers, the one he gets along with best is Jyuushimatsu, with whom he has a close relationship. We often see them together, helping each other.

He feels contempt towards Karamatsu, which he finds painful and false with the airs that he takes, ~!but it is only jealousy, he would like to be like him, able to express these feelings.!~


The sixth and youngest brother of the Matsuno household. Enjoys being spoiled and makes a living off of it too. He is loved by everyone.

Appears in episode 12. She is seeking revenge against humanity after they murdered her sister.
