Ubik's design is directly based upon one of the Hellraiser Cenobite characters. He is also one of the Godhand, and thus extremely mysterious. He has the voice of an old man, and together with Conrad he shows Griffith a glimpse into his past so that he can make the choice to sacrifice the Hawks without question.

The founder and president of Akamatsu Industries. His company worked with Mode Warp in developing the Neuronoids, and he actively assists in their attempt to eliminate Algernon. He has an extremely inventive mind, and many of his company&#039;s products, which range from toys to military weapons, were his own ideas.

Grand Fisher is a hollow that had evaded the shinigami for over 50 years and is responsible for the death of Ichigo's mother, Masaki Kurosaki. In the anime, he prefers to eat women, which is why he killed Ichigo's mother; in the manga, he prefers to eat children, and Ichigo's mother merely got in the way. In hollow form, he resembles a giant hamster with bird-like hands and feet and a tentacle-like limb that hangs from his forehead, similar to the esca (lure) of an angler fish. The lure is vaguely human-sized and can be transformed to resemble anyone Grand Fisher wishes, usually taking the appearance of one of his previous victims. It can act independently of Grand Fisher, and as long as either the lure or Grand Fisher himself survives, he cannot be purified. 

 As a hollow, Grand Fisher's preferred method of fighting shinigami involves using his angler to keep opponents at bay, rather than attract them as it would normally be used. By transforming the angler into a decoy copy of someone close to his enemy, he can keep them from attacking, since they will be unwilling to harm the decoy. He can also grow his hair and fingers into spikes to stab enemies, or use them to restrain an opponent. Grand Fisher explains that when his hair and claws are used as spikes to stab an enemy, they also absorb the memories of that particular enemy, hence his ability to use the lure to create a copy of their loved ones or friends and use their image as a shield. Outside combat, his angler is used like its namesake, allowing him to distinguish those with high spiritual power from common humans and devour them. 

 After his defeat by Ichigo, Grand Fisher is turned into an imperfect arrancar by Iceringer and used by Aizen as an experimental subject. In arrancar form, he resembles a larger, more humanoid version of his old self with a tattooed face poking out from between his jawbones. He carries a large zanpakutō on his back, which is almost as tall as a two-story building. By unsheathing it, he transforms into a huge, monstrous creature with bull-like horns, and his zanpakutō becomes the size of a skyscraper. He returns to the human world to kill Ichigo, but instead is killed by Ichigo's father, Isshin Kurosaki. 

Nu (ヌゥ,) are sleepy creatures that can be found in all time periods. Nu are blue, with long, stringy arms, small eyes, and a small tuft of green hair. More Nus are found in 12,000 B.C. than in any other era, almost always sleeping. Within a secret room in Enhasa, a book entitled &quot;The Mystery of Life,&quot; vol. 841, chapter 26, authored by Belthasar, states &quot;All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu. This is the truth! This is my belief! ...At least for now.&quot; In 65,000,000 B.C. a Nu can be found in the Hunting Range when it rains. Also at the End of Time, the final form of Spekkio, the magic trainer and God of War, is a pink Nu. This Nu is one of the strongest enemies in the game. A Nu also appears as one of two central characters in the Chrono Trigger promotional anime Dimensional Adventure Numa Monjar.

One of the Chief Inspectors of the police department, Megure is often called upon to conduct the investigations of the various crimes committed around the city.

On many such occasions, Yusaku would take his son [Shinichi](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Conan-Edogawa) with him, who would pick up his father's investigative skills and eventually become a detective in his own right.

Megure is almost always there on the scene when a murder occurs, always interviewing the suspects, and acting as the commanding officer of the group of police he brings along with him, among them [Wataru Takagi,](https://anilist.co/character/9421/Wataru-Takagi) [Miwako Sato,](https://anilist.co/character/13975/Miwako-Satou) [Ninzaburo Shiratori,](https://anilist.co/character/9180/Ninzaburo-Shiratori) and [Kazunobu Chiba.](https://anilist.co/character/30373/Kazunobu-Chiba) Megure and [Kogoro Mouri](https://anilist.co/character/1746/Kogoro-Mouri) were former co-officers in the district.

Megure is a capable veteran officer who cares much for his underlings, but he is prone to occasional shouting fits whenever something does not go right or when his temper gets the better of him. He also has little patience for fools, but tends to be a bit too conservative, limiting his ability for flexible thinking. 

After Shinichi solved their first mutual case for him, he has regularly consulted him in difficult cases and considered him a great help. In stark contrast to this, he tends not to think much of Conan and the Detective Boys, usually thinking of them as a nuisance until they solve the ongoing case for him. Likewise, from their common police days, he has no high regard for Kogoro, and he thinks that he may actually be under some kind of jinx, since wherever Kogoro hows up, there is always some murder case nearby _(a fact which actually conforms to Conan, which in later cases he seems to have realised)._

Kuraudo Oishi is a veteran police investigator at Okinomiya who has vowed to solve the mystery of the Hinamizawa murders before his retirement, due to personal reasons.
