Kurz is a member of Mithril. Part of the SRT (Special Response Team) of the Tuatha de Danaan's (TDD-1) Pacific Battle Group. His call sign is Urzu-6. He is an SRT AS (Arm Slave) pilot and designated marksman, equally proficient with sniper rifles and AS long range precision cannons. It is said that he can visualize the exact trajectory of a bullet, resulting in an almost inhuman accuracy. He most often forms a three-man cell with squadmate Sousuke Sagara and squad leader Melissa Mao. He is regarded as a finicky genius, burdening the Mithril mechanics with extremely difficult to understand complaints and requests.

Kurz is a Caucasian male, roughly six feet tall. He is of German descent, and sports a blond mullet and has blue eyes. He is very good looking, and combined with his outgoing personality easily befriends most people. His reputation with women in romantic terms is largely spoiled by his unflinching and overdone pursuit of "the fairer sex". Kurz can speak Japanese, English and German fluently. He had aspirations of becoming a professional blues singer before he was a soldier. From this, Kurz can sing and play the guitar quite well, entertaining the ersatz hostage Jindai High students with his rendition of "Take me out Mariana Trench" in the sixth novel, Dancing Very Merry Christmas.

In the scope of the main anime and novel series, Kurz is shown being deployed in Tokyo with Melissa and Sousuke in protecting Kaname Chidori. He is known to be a hard hitter on women and speaks in vulgar and flippant language. Despite the negative attitude he has received from women, he is still Sousuke's best friend from Mithril. Kurz annoys Melissa Mao greatly due to the open nature of his sexual feelings for her. In essence, he is Sousuke's complete opposite in personality. At the time of the novel "Dancing Very Merry Christmas", 1st Lieutenant Grouseax and the newly-promoted 2nd Lieutenant Melissa Mao placed him under observation for promotion to Sergeant Major. At the time of the ninth novel and Invisible Victory, Kurz is the SRT's Sergeant Major. Tasuki (翼宿?)  formerly led the Mount Reikaku bandits. Extremely quick and agile, he particularly enjoys joking around with Nuriko, Tamahome, and Chichiri. He is 17 years old and was born in the town of Tai-Tou in the Ko prefecture, at the foot of Mount Reikaku. His true name is Shun&#039;u Kou (侯 俊宇, Kō Shun&#039;u?), born under the star Wings (翼). Tasuki&#039;s primary weapon is a flame throwing Tessen, an iron fan used for fighting which is eventually upgraded to become a diamond fan that could only be used by Tasuki by Taitsukun. Additionally, he is skilled in judo, archery, swordsmanship, and is briefly capable of using ofuda. As a Celestial Warrior, he possesses superhuman speed and known as Genrou or Huang-Lang (幻狼|&quot;Phantom Wolf&quot;) because of his wolf-like appearance.    At a young age Tasuki found his calling as a bandit when Hakurō, the chief bandit of Mount Reikaku, took him under his wing. He began to improve his martial arts abilities in hopes of living up to and carrying on the role of his mentor[2]. He and fellow bandit Kōji eventually master the use of an iron fan in combat. Tasuki first meets Miaka when he kidnaps her in order to regain his rightful place as the leader of Mount Reikaku&#039;s bandits. He eventually joins her in order to help the other Celestial Warriors on their quest, reluctantly leaving Kōji as the leader of the bandits of Mount Reikaku.    Straight-forward, simple-minded, and quick to pick a fight, Tasuki also has a strong sense of honour. Though he appears utterly blunt, vulgar, and loud, he is sentimental and easily emotional. He is a frequent source of comic relief in the series and enjoys joking around. Tasuki values his friends greatly and will not hesitate to kill those who would try to endanger them or make fun of them in any way. Despite being rough around the edges, Tasuki shares a particularly strong relationship with Chiriko. Tasuki, as the youngest child and only son of a family with five older sisters, an aggressive mother, and timid father, happily accepts the role of an older brother figure to Chiriko, who looks up to him and strives to become a &quot;manly man&quot; like Tasuki. Of all the Suzaku Celestial Warriors, he takes the deaths of his comrades the hardest and openly cries for them. A running joke in the series is that Tasuki is afraid to swim, claiming that it is because he is a &quot;man of the mountains&quot;, though on several occasions he is able to instinctively tread water and finds unusual means of compensating for his weakness.    As the youngest and only son in a family with strong females and a weak father, Tasuki claims to hate women. But he demonstrates outstanding loyalty to Miaka and would die to protect her. His feelings toward her are apparently brotherly, but it is eventually revealed that he loves her. Gawl is a sarcastic and snarky young man who is genetically enhanced. He, along with his two scientist friends Koji and Ryo are sent back in time to save the world from falling into chaos by the very gene that makes Gawl unique. Although Gawl is smart-mouthed and quiet about himself, he has a heart of gold when it comes to those he wants to protect, not hesitating to jump into action when the situation calls for it.

The male protagonist, a hybrid of a youkai-dog and a human, a half-demon ("han'yo" in Japanese). He wields the Tessaiga (pronounced "Tetsaiga" in the American dub), a supernatural sword made from one of his deceased father's fangs. This sword, when properly wielded, can destroy one hundred demons with a single swing, and has further powers which are revealed as the story progresses. It is also a source of which hatred exists between Inuyasha and his brother Sesshomaru, a full youkai dog demon, being that Inuyasha can wield the Tessaiga and Sesshomaru can not. Inuyasha has a tendency for massive regeneration and can recover from injuries which would be fatal for any average human. This ability is likely derived from his youkai powers (Example: Episode 5, when Kagome brings medicine from her time). On the night of the new moon each month, Inuyasha will change into a normal human with black hair, brown eyes, and loses his yokai power during this time. Prior to meeting his current companions, he would conceal himself during this time. Inuyasha loves Kikyo, and still does, but things get complicated when he starts to develop feelings of love for Kagome. He has mastered different abilities for his sword including the red tessaiga that can destroy barriers and also learning the backlash wave which hurls an opponents demonic energy right back at it.

Yukino and Soichiro&#039;s lazy and girl-crazy friend, very handsome and popular.  Although bright enough to be accepted to the selective Hokuei High School, Hideaki is a terrible student, and spends most of his time surfing or chasing girls.  Hideaki and Soichiro are considered the two most handsome boys in school, and while Soichiro is largely indifferent to the attention, Hideaki makes the most of it.  During their school&#039;s annual culture-fest, Hideaki&#039;s class mounts a &quot;Hideaki Asaba Dinner Show&quot; which is a big hit with all the girls, but gives Yukino and Soichiro the creeps.

He and his siblings have supernatural powers, referred to in the series as "The Power", and are described as espers in the series. They are forbidden from using their powers in public, lest they be discovered and exploited. In each instance where someone has seen their powers, the family has immediately relocated.   Kyosuke's esper powers include teleportation, telekinesis, and "time-slipping" (a kind of a time travel) while falling from heights such as stairs. He can alter mechanical devices such as elevators and traffic lights. He can direct his powers to his ears to amplify his hearing and he has also demonstrated a hypnotism power as evidenced when he hypnotized himself to be more decisive.   Kyosuke is also rarely shown to use his powers to temporarily amplify his speed and strength. On very rare occasions—generally, when Madoka is directly threatened—his power has taken the form of raw energy that can shatter concrete walls or short out every light in a disco.  Kyosuke is a pretty gentle person and a bit of a goody-goody—when he sees Madoka smoking, he scolds her in a very nerdy way (and then uses his powers to destroy her cigarette). It is his indecisiveness that leads to the love triangle with Hikaru and Madoka. He is initially unable to decide between his feelings for Hikaru and Madoka.   As the story progresses however, he find himself unable to end the relationship with Hikaru for fear of hurting her feelings and destroying her friendship with Madoka. 

President of the Magic Club and 3rd year student at Kitanohashi High School. Takakura often has a tendency to show off in front of the girls and has perverted daydreams at inopportune times. He loves Sae, but will not admit his feelings because he is nervous and self-conscious of his position as Sae&#039;s mentor and upperclassman.  Hiding from his childhood nemesis, Miyama, Takeo found a magical textbook called the Grimoire, along with the magic wand he later replicated.

Dortin and Volkan are often viewed as comic relief throughout the series. Volkan is the one with the plans - the very bad plans, that is. He hates Orphen (whom he refers to as &quot;the black wizard&quot;) and his companions, and always finds a way to ruin whatever they had in mind. He is also very annoying to Orphen. It is his fault that Orphen often must use his magic on them to make them go away - them, being him and Dortin. Volkan wants power, and money. When splashed with hot water, he changes back to a boy, but when splashed with cold to room temperature water, he turns into a girl again. As for our well-built 16-year-old hero/heroine, the martial arts is his life. He also possesses a rather large and easily wounded ego, believing his physical strength to be his only virtue. Whenever his pride is damaged, Ranma feels the need to rectify the situation, even when it's not necessarily in his best interest to do so.

Ryuu-ou is the Bushinshou of the West, also the King of the Ryuu clan.

In the OVA-based continuities, Tenchi is the grandson of a Juraian prince named Yosho and a Airaian priestess named Airi. He gains possession of a 'Master Key' called 'Tenchi', also known as the Tenchi Sword (Tenchi-ken), that can form a lightsabre-like blade. He later receives a special ring from Tsunami that can create a Juraian battlesuit for him and acts as a 'Guardian System', protecting him. Tenchi also has the innate ability (making him unusual as the only non-ship entity able to do so) to create kou-ou-yoku ('Light Hawk Wings'), and the ill-defined ability of 'material conversion'. Tenchi initially lives in the city with his father to attend school and visits his grandfather's shrine every summer, where he trains to become a Shinto priest and learns his family's special style of swordmanship (which happens to be particular to members of Jurai's Royal Family). The house is permanently relocated next to the shrine after a battle between Ryoko and Ayeka, and Tenchi lives in the house with the girls while refusing to get intimate with them. Tenchi no longer attends school, after the school was blown up in OAV 1.  Tenchi suffers a great deal of stress as he tries his hardest to be a gentlemen while most of the women within the household will take the opportunity to display their attraction for him. In the third OVA series Tenchi is discovered to be engaged to Noike (aunt of Ayeka and Sasami). The arrangement was done by Tenchi's great great grandmother, known better was the "Devil Princess of Jurai." Tenchi also found out around this time that he has an 80-year old sister named Tennyo Masaki, who looks like his late mother, Kiyone. Tenchi then learned from his grandfather, Katsuhito, that since Earth is a developing civilization, the Masaki clan must keep their true presence hidden since they do not age at the same rate as Earthlings, and those who are born into the Masaki family are also kept from these secrets until they come of age which is when they reach adulthood. After a climatic battle between the three Goddesses, the truth behind everything has happened was linked to the three. They decided to change the time line in order to repair the damage that they have done, and Tenchi, in his changed time line, doesn't get to meet Noike. However, Noike, along with Fuku, traveled into the past and altered the message Mihoshi was to send to her family (the message was originally altered by Z) so that she WOULD meet Tenchi.  Tenchi is the most powerful character in the series, but is too young and immature to have full control over his Light Hawk Wings and other abilities. He is a competent swordsman and martial artist capable of superhuman feats thanks to his Juraian blood, but has only displayed his more unusual talents during dire situations, such as his duel with Kagato, the escape from a black hole, and the final confrontation with Z. The extent of Tenchi's powers is unknown; at one point they rage out of control, forcing the Goddesses to step in and prevent a catastrophe. Tenchi also has an unexplained connection to a high-level entity, superior even to the three Goddesses. Airi notes in GXP (the same continuity) that Tenchi has several powers they haven't discovered yet - some examples include his instant teleportation off of the planet when Z destroys the Earth, his speedy teleportation to Saturn when Z is about to slice him with his Light Hawk Wings, and his ability to keep up with his friend Seina in a race despite Seina having drastic body enhancements and going downhill on a bicycle.

Setsuna's drug dealing upperclassman and one of Sakuya Kira's friends. He is short-tempered, but his anger rarely lasts. He has a bad relationship with his family, stemming from his status as an illegitimate child. Though he is killed by Rosiel, he is revived in Hades and joins Setsuna on his journey.

Hige seems to know how to function the best in human society, even wearing a dog collar, although the true meaning behind his collar is revealed later in the series that is a tag/transmitter . He tends to use his intuition more than the others, but only when he&#039;s not thinking with his stomach instead. Hige is quite the ladies&#039; man and is always on the look-out for a nice girl. He has the best sense of smell between the others. Hige seems to be a Mexican wolf in the series.
