Kei is the main heroine of the second chapter in the story. She is Hiro's childhood friend and is one year younger than Hiro; she attends the same school as him too. She is also Hiro's neighbour, and she often has to go over to Hiro's house to wake him up if he had spent the previous night drawing his manga. She is very athletic and is the star player of her school's girl's basketball team. She is attracted to Hiro, and becomes jealous when she finds out how much time he is spending with Miyako Miyamura.

One of the Oceanus class ship' AIs. She mainly supports transferring the Zegapain, but is also responsible of monitoring interior sensors onboard Oceanus. She is destroyed when Sin infiltrates the Oceanus and reinstalled as Fosetta II. Her personality is markedly different after her installation; Fosetta II is unusually cold compared to Fosetta. A protagonist both in the anime and the game by minori. In the game she is a close friend of Yuu Sakurano and Yuzuki Kaede. She also befriends the main character Tatsuki Sakurano, after he comes to teach at the all-girl high school after a rejection from the woman he loved, and a relationship develops between them (depends on the choices made in the interactive novel).
