A Colonel in the Allied Space Force and captain of the heavy cruiser Cordoba, he also serves as the commander of the USF`s 3rd Inspection Unit. Known for his stubborn and inflexible character. He sees Crushers as little more than rogues and relentlessly pursues Joe and his team under the suspicion of piracy, much to Joe's annoyance.

Daigo was the lord of Ishikawa domain which was ravaged by floods and starvation due to poor harvest. He made a deal with a group of 48 devils (12 in 2019 version) in order to save his domain and to aggrandise his power. He promises each devil a body part from his unborn child in exchange for the power to take over the land.

Zenigata has made it his mission in life to arrest Lupin. He would love to arrest the other members of Lupin's gang, but Zenigata is really after the mastermind himself. Lupin and Zenigata appear to be the worst of enemies, but they are, in a manner of speaking, friends; something Lupin shows openly (often by greeting Zenigata with mock affection), but it is an idea Zenigata is extremely reluctant to entertain. Similarly, he is often awed by Lupin's genius but refuses to show it. 

~!In the movie Mystery of Mamo, it is mentioned that Zenigata has a daughter named Toshiko, but this isn't developed any further. He's unable to settle down because of his eternal pursuit, and although he sometimes longs for female company he has no luck with women—in no small part due to his inability to commit himself to anything but chasing Lupin.!~

~!The Manga series reveals that he has a grandson, a student at Todai University, who fiercely opposes Lupin's attendance, though, by the end of the arc, he has largely given up on having Lupin expelled outright.!~

In the anime, Zenigata is a quite sensitive person and often cries in emotional situations, particularly when he thinks Lupin has done something out of consideration for him, or when finding out Lupin is okay after worrying about him. On occasions when Lupin appears to be dead, he mourns him more expressively than anyone else—partly due to genuine grief, partly because he no longer has a goal in life. Because of this singular ambition, he is never particularly displeased when Lupin manages to escape his custody.


The thirteenth generation of renegade samurai, beginning with the legendary figure Ishikawa Goemon (石川 五右衛門). He has a sword called Zantetsuken (斬鉄剣), meaning "iron-cutting sword", which can cut through almost anything. In one episode during the TV series Goemon admitted that his sword cannot cut konnyaku, which is a starch-based jelly made from yams, because the blade just gets stuck in it. The Zantetsuken is usually used to cut inanimate objects, which Goemon considers unworthy of his blade and often mutters his catchphrase "once again, I have cut a worthless object" after doing so. Objects cut by Zantetsuken will fall apart a couple of seconds after he sweeps through them with his blade. He is usually quiet and participates in Lupin's exploits less frequently than Jigen.

in history Hanzou was born as the son of Hattori Yasunaga, a minor samurai in the service of the Matsudaira (later Tokugawa) clan. He would later earn the nickname Oni no Hanzou (鬼半蔵 Devil Hanzou) because of the fearless tactics he displayed in his operations; this is to distinguish him from Watanabe Hanzou (Watanabe Moritsuna), who is nicknamed Yari no Hanzou (槍半蔵 Spear Hanzou)

Though Hanzou was born and raised in Mikawa Province, he often returned to Iga Province, home of the Hattori family. He fought his first battle at the age of 16 (a night-time attack on Udo castle and went on to serve with distinction at the battles of Anegawa (1570) and Mikatagahara (1572). His most valuable contribution came in 1582 following Oda Nobunaga's death, when he led the future shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu to safety in Mikawa Province across Iga territory with the help of remnants of the local Iga ninja clans as well as their one-time rivals in Koga.

According to some sources, Hanzou also helped in rescuing the captured family of Ieyasu. In the series he is painted as the antagonist the story  having  being the main person in the assassin team set after Sasuke 's Father. Much like in real history he  his said to serve the Matsudaira.

Ban is the Arcadia's medical officer in the SSX series. He was rescued by Harlock when his ship was attacked by the Seawolves (a bunch of real space pirates,) who murdered all passengers but himself and his charge, Revi Bentselle. A gruff but kind man, and one of the only Matsumoto doctors who doesn't have a bottle in his mouth 24/7,  ~!Ban ultimately diagnoses Tochiro's space sickness as terminal, and struggles to keep the bad news from the rest of the crew, at Tochiro's insistence. Despite his promise, he must eventually tell Harlock of his friend's impending death.!~  In Galaxy Express 999, Maeter's father, whose spirit is contained in the amulet she wears, is also named "Dr. Ban," but there's no indication ever given that the two characters are supposed to be one and the same; indeed, it seems outright impossible that there could be any connection between them at all.
