The protagonist of City Hunter. Ryo is a combat expert, having fought as a guerrilla in numerous conflicts alluded to throughout the series, and has a long history of working in the underground. He carries a Colt Python. His mysterious past starts with him being the only survivor of a plane crash in Central America as a toddler. The crash left him an orphan in a rebel village during a civil war, prompting him to learn to fight at a young age. As a result, he has very little information on his true parentage, or even his birthdate. (Later, Kaori Makimura unilaterally declared March 26 his birthday, as that was they day they first met). After the war he ended up in the United States, where he worked as a hired gun, but eventually he found his way to Tokyo, Japan. There he formed the "City Hunter" team with Hideyuki Makimura (Kaori's brother), and it's sometime after that where the manga/TV series' timeline begins.

Athos is in a way the head of the famous "three musketeers". At 28 years old, he is the oldest of the group. Calm and considered, he handles the sword with great accuracy. He's the wisest of them all.

Sometimes being a mad scientist can be a good anything, though mostly it ends up biting you in the ass later on. Kyuusaku Natsume, however, as cooky as he may seem, is in fact a genius when it comes to robotics. Married to the president of Mishima Industries, Lady Akiko, Kyuusaku worked as a full time inventor at her company. He designed robots, weapons, computers, and other high tech devices.  But eventually he discovered that his latest creation, the MK android, was about to be used for destructive uses, and he quit. Kyuusaku bailed out on the company and his wife, and took their only child, Ryunosuke, plus the android with him. On Christmas Eve, Kyuusaku was still trying escape from Kyouko and Arisa in Poison 1. During the car crash in which they finally escaped, Ryunosuke's pet cat was fatally wounded. So Kyuusaku gave him the best present of all.  Nuku Nuku. Kyuusaku uploaded the cat's brain into his MK android body and shaped it's appearance to be a beautiful high school girl. Kyuusaku considers himself a good father even though he's a bit crazy. He gets insomnia time to time, and goes overboard whenever his hands are working on a nifty new toy for Nuku Nuku to play with. Personally, Kyuusaku is a very laid back and careless man.  He's not overly serious but he's by no means a hippie. Ryunosuke means a lot to him and he trusts Nuku Nuku to protect him, having pride in both her love for her family and in his own work. Akiko's over bitchiness is what drove Kyuusaku to split, but deep down he still enjoys being with her. No way in hell he'd wanna share beds or rooms for that matter with her ever again, but still.  Nuku Nuku has been supplied with a plentiful supply of useful inventions to aid her battles against Akiko's strike force. And while he may continue to just be a laid back, crazy old guy who can't sleep or stop smoking to save his life, Kyuusaku is just a fun guy who can't help but spread the excitement all around.

Souichi Tomoe is generally referred to simply as &quot;Professor Tomoe&quot;, and the English dub refers to him as &quot;Doctor&quot; Tomoe. He first appears in Episode 90 of the anime and Act 25 of the manga.    In the manga Tomoe is outright malevolent. He joins the Death Busters of his own free will after a lab fire that killed his older wife, Keiko and seriously wounded his young daughter Hotaru Tomoe. He later turns himself into Germatoid to fight Sailor Moon but is killed after being hit by Sailor Moon's Rainbow Moon Heartache. He dies in the manga and does not come back.    In the anime he is a more sympathetic character. He displays bizarre, but hilariously over dramatic mannerisms, which are often a source of unexpected humor. It is never specified whether these are mannerisms of Germatoid or repressed aspects of his personality, since little is known of him before or after the possession. His normal personality does show through at times, however, revealing him to be a kind and loving father. At the end of S, he is shown wheelchair-bound in a hospital with no memory of any of his Death Buster activities. He has taken it upon himself to re-raise the now infant Hotaru.    Professor Tomoe makes one more appearance in the anime, namely in episode 167 (the first episode of the Sailor Stars season), when Sailor Pluto arrives to take baby Hotaru from him. In this episode, he is seen without his glasses, and no longer relies on a wheelchair, indicating that his condition is improving. He is never seen or heard of after that.

Begins life as an energetic, fun-loving lamb in a farmer's field, wearing a bell around his neck so that his mother can always find him. One night in autumn, however, the fearsome Wolf from the mountains nearby comes and kills some of the sheep, including Chirin's mother. In grief, Chirin goes to the mountains after the wolf for revenge. Soon, however, he decides that he wants to be a wolf himself, rather than a weakling sheep that can be killed easily. 

Sanshirou Tsuwabuki is an ex-baseball pro who joined the crew of the Space Dragon just when his sports career was leading him to success with a major debut in the Japanese national league as the new pitcher of the Red Sun team.   Japanese baseball had great expectations from his great talent, but Sanshiro was stopped by the Black Birds that Darius sent on Earth to kill him. He was totally unaware of being one of those humans whose superior powers could interfere with Darius’ invasion of the Earth: to kill him without compromising the secrecy of their plans, the Black Birds staged a game accident that cost Sanshiro a fracture at his left wrist, whose consequences forced him to retire from baseball. After that, he survived other two ambushes of Darius’ killers and finally understood the terrible threat that Earth and mankind were facing, so he accepted Prof. Daimonji’s proposal to become the new pilot of the Gaiking, thus completing the crew of the Space Dragon.   Sanshiro lived this dramatic change in his life traumatically: his will couldn’t make up for what the accident did, then he had to face the new challenge of fighting for Earth’s survival with no choice, unlike what happened to his new fellow companions on the Space Dragon. In spite of all this, Sanshiro will not spare himself at all when doing his duty of protecting the Earth with the Gaiking, though his past life never prepared him for a mission like fighting the monsters of the Black Horror Army. Sanshiro will rule on the battlefield and win with the same valour that could have made him a baseball champion, but even the supreme task of Earth’s survival will not make Sanshiro forget his identity as a man with other affections in peace time, that will remain his strongest desire until when he gives them up after realizing that Darius’ war stole him the time of his life.

The previous successor to the Hokuto Shinken style. Ryuken (リュウケン, Ryūken?) was the sifu who adopted and trained Raoh, Toki, Jagi, and Kenshiro in the Hokuto Shinken style. After he chose Kenshiro as his successor, he was slain by Raoh, a feat made possible by chance; he suffered a stroke at the moment he was about to seal Raoh's fist. Kenshiro did not know the real cause of Ryuken's death, having been told that Ryuken died from illness, until Toki revealed the shameful secret during their first battle. Kogoro is a private investigator, but he prefers to laze around his office all day unless his client is a beautiful woman. Kogoro attended Teitan High School, the same high school as his daughter [Ran Mouri](https://anilist.co/character/1748/Ran-Mouri) and [Shinichi Kudo](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Conan-Edogawa) , along with [Eri Kisaki](https://anilist.co/character/1744/Eri-Kisaki) _(his future wife)_, [Yukiko Fujimine](https://anilist.co/character/20372/Yukiko-Kudo), and through kindergarten to middle school attended the same schools as the actress Ruri Ujo and Eri. He then graduated from Beika University, where he was the ace of the judo team, though he was highly vulnerable to stage fright.

Some time after graduating, Kogoro became a police officer, working in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Division One with [Inspector Megure](https://anilist.co/character/4253/Juzo-Megure), but while an excellent marksman he was not a particularly good investigator. According to [Ninzaburo Shiratori](https://anilist.co/character/9180/Ninzaburo-Shiratori) in [Movie 2](https://anilist.co/anime/780/Meitantei-Conan-Juuyonbanme-no-Target/), however, the duo were famous for the way they apprehended criminals. He also worked for some time under Inspector Yuminaga in the arson division. While Movie 2 strongly suggests that Kogoro left the police force because of the incident where he gave his wife, Eri Kisaki, a bullet graze on the leg to save her from a hostage situation, his reasons for leaving the force have not been confirmed in the manga. Around the time Kogoro left the police force, Eri also moved out, though they have never officially divorced despite ten years having passed. Their daughter, Ran, keeps trying to get them back together, but she has yet to succeed. Despite constantly feigning disinterest in her, Kogoro still has feelings for Eri. He even asked her to move back in with him at one point, but at the time she pretended not to hear him because she was not "ready" yet, though she still has feelings for him as well. These are expressed mainly through jealousy when Kogoro's attention is caught by other attractive women in the vicinity, which occurs on a regular basis. 

After Shinichi was forced to adopt the identity of Conan Edogawa, [Hiroshi Agasa](https://anilist.co/character/4162/Hiroshi-Agasa) concluded that Shinichi couldn't openly continue investigating the Black Organization without attracting undue attention. To maintain his cover, Agasa suggested Shinichi to move in with Kogoro and use him as a front. During a case Kogoro took soon after, he reached the wrong conclusion, and Conan knocked him out with an ashtray before he could accuse an innocent person. Kogoro conveniently falls unconscious in a reclining pose, and Conan uses his Voice Changer to imitate Kogoro's voice, presenting his conclusions and the identity of the true murderer. After a few more cases occur in this fashion _(though Conan uses his Stun-Gun Wristwatch instead of an ashtray)_, Kogoro receives the title "Sleeping Kogoro" and a public reputation as a master detective. In the few instances where Kogoro remains awake for some reason, Conan still does the main detective work and uses Kogoro as his official mouth-piece by drawing Kogoro's attentions to important clues he has uncovered.

Ryoma is the original leader of the Getter Team and the protagonist of many of the Getter Robo adaptions. In the original manga, he is portrayed as an extremely violent martial artist and the son of the "Dojo Destroyer" Ichigan Nagare.   Ryoma is first discovered by Professor Saotome's assistants when he breaks into a karate tournament to take revenge on them for disgracing his father's name. Impressed, Saotome follows this up by sending 3 hitmen after him as a test of his ability. Ryoma kills all three men, and in his weakened state is kidnapped by Saotome and taken to his research center. There he meets Saotome and his daughter and son, Michiru and Tatsuhito.  Soon after, the research institute is attacked by dinosaurs and many of the staff, including Tatsuhito are killed. Saotome tells Ryoma to pilot the incomplete Getter Robo in place of Tatsuhito against the attacking dinosaur empire. Ryoma succeeds at this, and continues to serve on the Getter Team as it's leader.  In the TV adapation, Ryoma's character is drastically different, he is now a football player and seems to be more easy-going.

Bagdash is a commander in the Alliance forces. During the battle at the Doria starzone, he &quot;deserted&quot; the National Salvation Military Council (which had staged a coup d&#039;&eacute;tat on the planet Heinessen).    Though he had originally been operating under assassination orders, he instead requested to serve in Yang&#039;s fleet after seeing the defeat of his comrades. His presence was met with suspicion and animosity, especially from Julian.    Unsurprisingly, Bagdash considers surviving to be of greater importance than ideals or principles.

When not in battle, 20-year-old Rol displays a timid nature and seldom speaks. Only when he pilots the Dangaioh does he become aggressive and competent. Rol's power enables him to generate great amounts of psychic power as he runs, gaining super speed, stamina and near invulnerability allowing him to even crash mechas by himself as long as he has space to move freely. Kenshiro (Ken for short) is the 64th successor of the "Hokuto Shin Ken" style. He has seven scars on his chest in the shape of the "Hokuto Shichisei ", or Big Dipper, that were put there by Shin  A strong and mostly stoic character, Kenshiro is compelled to punish evil-doers and can perform feats not possible for most people. His mastery of the ancient martial art Hokuto Shinken allows him to kill or cripple with a mere touch. The results tend to be very messy -it usually causes parts of the victim to explode- but the art also includes several other means of killing. He can also use this art to heal or to alter people's behavior. Later in the series Kenshiro learns parts of other martial arts.  When angry his spiritual powers reach their peak, normally culminating in the dramatic destruction of his shirt and jacket (which, despite the obvious lack of a wardrobe or clothing store, are always replaced in the next episode or story arc) to expose his muscular torso.  His catchphrase is Omae wa mō shindeiru (おまえはもう死んでいる), meaning "You are already dead", which he usually says before a villain's head is about to explode.  After surviving the nuclear war, he tries to live in peace with his fiancee Yuria, until Jagi instigates Shin, a jealous rival from the Nanto Seiken school, to challenge, then defeat Kenshiro. Shin then engraves the iconic seven scars on Kenshiro's chest and leaves him for dead. Prior to this event he was more forgiving of his enemies, as shown in a flashback of Jagi's failed assassination attempt against him, in which Kenshiro chooses to spare Jagi's life after defeating him rather than end it. When Kenshiro later fights his old rivals in the present, particularly Shin, Jagi, and Raoh, they all remark on Kenshiro's acquired mercilessness.  The initial story arc centers around Kenshiro's quest to reclaim Yuria from Shin. In the very first chapter, he meets a pair of orphans who follows him in his journey: Bat, a thief; and Lin, a young girl rescued by Ken. Thorough the course of the series, Kenshiro protects the weak and innocent from the numerous gangs roaming the post-apocalyptic wasteland, eventually gaining his reputation as the "Savior of the Century's End". Kenshiro's skills improve through his encounters with members of the Nanto Roku Seiken and his Hokuto Brothers.  Although still emotionally repressed and stoic like most male heroes in 1980's media, Kenshiro is notable in anime culture for being a sensitive and kind-hearted man who broke the then-ironclad "men don't cry" cultural expectation. He is famous for openly shedding tears, if not outright weeping for the suffering of innocents and the deaths of his few noble enemies. This trait is unfortunately downplayed in the 1980's anime adaptations, but comes back into the franchise in the adaptaions of the 1990's and onwards.    ~! In the 1970's, Kenshiro was born in Taiseiden, Land of Asura to the Hokuto Sōke family. Ryūken named Kenshirō after his older brother, Kenshiro Kasumi, because both had a Big Dipper-shaped birthmark on their heads. The identity of his parents has never been made clear, but he has an older brother named Hyō. Hyō and Kenshirō were caught in a fire and were rescued by Kaiō's Mother, at the cost of her life. With the Land of Asura in political turmoil, Jūkei send the baby Kenshiro away to Japan with Raoh and Toki to be raised by Ryūken. !~

Crown prince of Galra, and a half-Altean. A dangerous and cunning adversary, his only weakness is the fact he fell in love with Princess Fala, who somewhat resembles his mother whom his father, Emperor Daibazaal, killed for refusing to marry him. He plots to overthrow his own father and marry Princess Fala. He is a sly, scheming villain, who has a sense of honor, preferring to fight fair over his father's dirty tactics, and is Akira's frequent rival. In one last confrontation, after being defeated by Akira in a duel, he decides to use Ryou as a hostage. While attempting to destroy GoLion to avenge himself of his previous defeats and rule the universe, an enraged Ryou stabs him, and they both fall to their deaths.(Source Wikipedia)

Born to Mayumi and Sayuri Kinniku, the king and queen of Planet Kinniku on April 1, 1960. Suguru was so stupid looking, even as a child, that on several occasions Mayumi would have an urge to strangle him just from looking at him. On one fateful day, The royal family went on vacation to Earth. While there, a pig snuck on board and got in Suguru's cradle. Mayumi mistook Suguru for the pig and threw him out of the ship. Suguru was left behind on Earth to raise himself. He built his own house and tried to go to school, but he was so stupid that he flunked out of school and his house had only one room. As he got older, he decided to become a hero like Ultraman. But despite his muscles and strength, he was too clumsy and stupid to make it, so he settled for just being the president of the Gyuudon Lovers Club.  Whitout his"inner burning strength" or "fire" wich helped him evolve and become stonger in each battle he took(because of that power five evil goods feared him) , he has other secret powers, like when he takes of his mask(also when no one sees) he releases some healing or purification powers (like cleaning poluted water or healing his friends). Thats also might be a reason why members of Kinniku royal family must not show their real face, and have allways be put mask on(exept for family members). In manga chapter 326 is revealed that power is called "Face flash" which possess Kinniku clan members. 

The president of the Camera Club. a senior student who has enormous school pride, a sense of justice, an aggressive personality and a tendency to flip people the middle finger. He is very arrogant and unreasonable. Despite having graduated late into the series, he still helps with the Camera Club, and it is hinted that he sleeps in the club room. While his temper is short with R, he enjoys R&#039;s company, since R follows his orders and willingly takes a beating. Tosaka is always seen with sunglasses over his eyes (even when his glasses are off, his eyes are hidden by his hair), and gets around via motorcycle.

Known as the &quot;Black Knight&quot;, Ashram is a highly skilled warrior and the former retainer and right-hand aide of Emperor Beld. He served Beld during the War of Heroes, and was sent in the front to deal with any possible resistance.
