Rock, formerly known as Rokuro Okajima, is the protagonist of the series. He was a Japanese salaryman for Asahi Industries in Tokyo until he was taken hostage by the crew of the Black Lagoon. He joined the Lagoon Company after his department chief, Kageyama, abandoned him in an attempt to cover up the smuggling operation in which Rock had been an unwitting participant. Rock is a humble and mild-mannered person despite being on the business end of guns from friend and foe alike, and often seems surprised at the barbarity of the Southeast Asian crime world. He still wears his tie, short-sleeved dress shirt, and dress pants because although now a pirate, he still retains his business persona. He prefers to use words over weapons when interacting with others. Rock, after joining the Lagoon company, has wondered if he is experiencing Stockholm syndrome.  

Within the Lagoon Company, Rock is usually responsible for account management, diplomacy, negotiation, interpretation, and the occasional errand. Having once worked in the resource investigation department of Asahi Industries, Rock is also skilled in geology. He is also a skilled linguist, being effectively bilingual in Japanese (his native language) and English as well as being familiar with other languages, including Spanish, Romanian and Russian. He also has a surprisingly high tolerance for alcohol, owing to the heavy-drinking lifestyle of a ladder-climbing salaryman. Rock's earnest personality has earned him the interest of several figures in Roanapur, including Balalaika, Mr. Chang, Rowan "Jackpot" Pigeon, Yolanda, Eda (who develops a crush on him), and young Garcia Lovelace, whom he trusts to the greatest degree. In many ways, Rock is the heart of the Lagoon Company, serving as a balance for his more jaded teammates and as a bright spot in the world of darkness that is Roanapur. Dutch has stated that he believes Lagoon Company is complete with Rock not holding a gun, saying his bullets are the kind to ricochet back at them. 

Rock is one of the "luckiest" characters in the series as he managed to survive every single thing he experienced from being taken hostage to being shot at. Thus far, he has survived the wrath of Revy, Balalaika, Roberta, and Sawyer. He is personally appointed by Mr. Chang to help Garcia Lovelace, much to Lagoon Company's disapproval. Rock eventually begins to enjoy his life as a pirate and becomes even more comfortable with corruption. Later, in a conversation with Fabiola, he demonstrates a darker, sadistically ruthless side of his personality clearly influenced by Revy and the Roanapur environment. Benny even points out that there are things about him that scare almost everyone in Roanapur.  While Rock has a family in Tokyo, he does not seem to have much connection to them due to their somewhat apathetic attitude towards him. It was later revealed that he did not pass his college entrance exams on his first try, leading his family to lower their expectations of him. It is known that he has a father, a mother, and an older brother who was academically capable and thus attained a job in the Japanese government. He was born in the 49th year of the Showa period, according to the manga version, which corresponds to 1975-1976.

Chris is a powerful entity, who appears in the body of a young boy, crippled by expending his energy to revive Juna. He speaks only telepathically, and is able to leave his body at will, and often does so to help others. He is unerringly kind and patient to everyone, including Juna, despite her misunderstanding his words. Light has a father, Soichiro Yagami, who is the head of the Police Force. Light also has a mother, Sachiko Yagami, and a younger sister, Sayu Yagami. In Spring 2004, he becomes a first-year student (freshman) at To-Oh University and gets one of the top scores of its entrance exam.

Nicknamed "Kira", he uses the Death Note to create his ideal world of justice under him; its new God. Though he looks frail, Light is an extremely athletic person, with an aptitude to find an opponent's weak point. He is a genius, which adds to his notion that only he is fit to judge humanity and steer it on a proper moral course.

A normal Earth student who unwittingly took a job for Toys of the World to field test their Dokkoida power suit for the GFP (Galaxy Federation Police). He always has money troubles worries over food. The Dokkoida main gimmick was supposed to be the Alpha Waves of Zealousness, which would hypnotically give him courage and strength, but component was left out making it nothing more than giving BGM and a placebo. The job gives him room 5 in the Cosmos House apartment complex, however if his identity is discovered he will lost the contract. One of his bad habits is giving long winded speeches at the start of the fights.

Anime/Manga Season 1:  The main protagonist character. Due to his short attention span, he is renowned as a lazy quitter that never keeps any of his promises and is nicknamed 'The Tardy Champion'. Blackmailed by Maiko, he was dragged to Dragon Drive against his will, but became obsessed with the game after his first taste of victory. He has the ability to tame almost any dragon. His dragon is Chibi(Chibisuke in Japanese). Chibi gains a special sword in one of the episodes after he defeats a legendary dragon. Many conflicts happens in his journey and he gains many allies.     Manga Season 2:  Still as lazy as ever, he has hardly changed since his younger days. Because he overslept and missed the meeting with Meguru, he did not go back to Rikyu straight away. Instead, Agent S managed to bring him back to Earth to help fight against RI-IN's power.      ~!Now heading his own private veterinary clinic.!~

Kazuya is another one of Tsukushi's childhood friends. He enrolls at Eitoku after his family comes into money through some real-estate deals. The other students at Eitoku draw a sharp distinction between Kazuya's "new money" and their "old money." The F4 in particular mention this difference fairly often.  Tsukushi is both relieved to have a friend at Eitoku, and worried for Kazuya's safety if he continues to hang around her. She is particularly worried about Domyoji, who clearly considers Kazuya a romantic threat. Once the Go instructor to the Emperor, Sai continually plays Go, his goal being to one day play the divine move. Sai's ghost had previously possessed the real-life figure, Honninbou Shuusaku, who became a renowned Go player. He is an extremely emotional person, who often acts childish and has great mood swings. While playing Go however, his behaviour changes completely as he controls himself and his emotions to play to the best of his ability.

Sai has a high sense of honor, abhorring cheating and bullying.

He holds a rivalry towards [Kouyou Touya](https://anilist.co/character/13604/), and through Hikaru persuades Kouyou to have a game with him; with his wish realized when they play a game through the Internet. After the legendary match that ends with Sai's triumph by the narrowest margin, Hikaru discovers another move which would have turned the game around. Witnessing Hikaru's maturity, Sai comes to feel that his one-thousand-year time in the world is going to end without his fulfilling his wish of obtaining the divine move.

A few days after the game with Kouyou Touya, Sai suddenly disappears as he feared he would. Hikaru was dozing during their last game, so he could neither terminate his last match with Hikaru nor say goodbye to him. Sai is gone, leaving Hikaru depressed and wanting to quit the game. Nobunaga, of the Takeda clan, seems to have some trouble with cliffs. He has a pet monkey named Hiyoshimaru. He is first introduced as a hungry person rooting for food in Kagome's backpack. He is in love with Princess Tsuyu, who is newly married into another clan.

Yoshitsune was born during the Heiji Rebellion of 1159 in which his father and oldest two brothers were killed. His life was spared and he was put under the care of Kurama Temple 鞍馬寺, nestled in the Hiei Mountains near the capital of Kyoto, while Yoritomo was banished to Izu Province. Eventually, Yoshitsune was put under the protection of Fujiwara no Hidehira, head of the powerful regional Northern Fujiwara clan in Hiraizumi, Mutsu Province.    A skillful swordsman, he defeated the legendary warrior monk Benkei in a duel. From then on, Benkei became Yoshitsune&#039;s right-hand man, eventually dying with him at the Siege of Koromogawa.    In 1180, Yoshitsune heard that Yoritomo, now head of the Minamoto clan, had raised an army at the request of Prince Mochihito to fight against the Taira clan (also known as the Heike) which had usurped the power of the emperor. Amuro was born on Earth and raised in the space colonies of Side 7. Amuro's father is an Earth Federation technician who helps the Federation build new weapon designs. Since he sees many of his fathers work he's a very skilled technician himself. As soon as Zeon attacked the colony he was living in, he came across the RX-78-2 Gundam and used it to stop them. After countless battles, Amuro learned of his Newtype abilities and was considered one of the strongest mobile suit pilots. Since the Gundam was white he was considered the White Ghost by many of his enemies. After the One Year War, ~!Amuro was placed under house arrest by the Titan forces, believing that he would join the AEUG. Eventually, that is what Amuro did and was able to escape Titan hands with some help from his friend Fraw Bow. He teams up with Kamille and teaches him the ways of a Newtype, but he can't help but feel jealous that he's no longer considered the famous Gundam pilot. After the war between the Titans and the AEUG, Amuro returns to the E.F.S.F. to fight against the Neo Zeon threat. He becomes part of the Londo Bell forces with Bright Noa. Soon Amuro became one of the E.F.S.F. best pilots and was given higher honor among all soldiers of the E.F.S.F.!~

However, unlike his hot-headed comrade, Dearka usually expresses his scorn for Naturals and weaklings in the form of detached sarcasm.

He is the most impulsive and brutal of the three, killing his enemies mercilessly and even laughing crazily when he kills people. Together with his comrades, he sneaks into the PLANT colony Armory One, where he steals one of the three new Gundam-type mobile suits, the ZGMF-X31S Abyss. He uses the heavily armed suit to wreak havoc inside the colony, killing many ZAFT soldiers.  He is later involved in two other battles in space (the first in the debris belt, the second on the remnants of the destroyed PLANT colony Junius Seven). After the start of the Second Bloody Valentine War, Auel and the rest of Phantom Pain go to Earth. They are involved in several battles against the ZAFT ship Minerva, but are met with no great success. During a fight against the Minerva at the Dardanelles, the Abyss is damaged by the ZGMF-X10A Freedom, but it is quickly repaired.  Shortly after Stella is captured and taken on board the Minerva, Auel and Sting had all of their memories of her erased. The latter recalled nothing, but Auel felt that something was missing, suggesting that his amnesia was not complete. During the Battle of Crete his suit is destroyed by Shinn Asuka when he uses the beam javelin of his ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse to stab directly into the abdomen of the Abyss, causing it to crash into the sea. The Abyss explodes under water, shortly after blood-mixed water filled Auel's helmet, confirming his death.  In the Gundam SEED Destiny: The Edge manga, the few short moments before his death were expanded on. As he sees the ocean through the cracks in the cockpit, he suddenly remembers a person that loved the ocean and fish. He then realizes that it was Stella, and all his memories of her flood back to him. He was then confused about why he had been unable to remember her for such a long time. Pondering more, he starts to feel sorry for her for dying, as she was so afraid of death (he did not know that she actually was still alive). At this point, the Abyss hits the bottom of the ocean, and explodes, killing Auel. This is significantly different from the anime, in which Auel is knocked unconscious with blood filling his helmet before he dies. Also, in the anime, the time between the Abyss' explosion and it being knocked underwater is greatly shorter than the manga.  [edit] Block word Auel's block word is "Mother", probably because his care-giver was one of the staff that was killed in the struggle. When the word is said around him or he says it himself, he suffers from flashbacks of his childhood. Auel is very protective of his 'mother' and goes into shock, whenever she is mentioned. (Shown mainly in episode 25, when the Lab is found by ZAFT)  Auel often used Stella as a weapon by saying her block word: "die,"; or any word relating to 'death', when the trio is in trouble. On the contrary however, he is also shown to be at least somewhat protective of her. When low-ranking Earth Alliance soldiers attempt to abduct Stella for an unknown reason, he attacks them, nearly knocking out one and threatens them in case they do not stop.  Trivia Before the release of Gundam SEED Destiny, anime news sites have said Richard Ian Cox would portray Auel in the English dub. The mistake was noted when Swaile's name was credited, though it has yet to be corrected.  In the Suit CDs, he is featured in Volume 7, along with the two other Extendeds. The friendly, empathetic pilot of the Gundam Sandrock, Quatre is unusually tender-hearted for a Gundam pilot. He is the only son of a wealthy family of space colony builders, with 29 older sisters and a stern pacifist father who disapproves of his going into combat. Though Quatre himself abhors bloodshed, he feels compelled to fight to protect his loved ones.  While Quatre lacks the fighting prowess and ruthlessness of his fellow Gundam pilots, he does have excellent family connections, almost unlimited cash, and a troop of forty loyal underlings at his disposal. His gentle personality quickly wins over his fellow Gundam pilot Trowa Barton, and he eventually becomes the de facto leader of the Gundam pilots.

He is the most unlikely hero of all the ARMS subjects. Takeshi is smart, skinny, sensitive, solitary, and timid, the classic target for high school bullies. Takeshi was constantly tormented at school, which caused his ARMS to first activate. Takeshi then became even more isolated, genuinely loathing his own body and his cowardice. After Takeshi meets Ryo and his fellow ARMS he finally realizes he is not alone. He also realizes his family and friends are what he really cares about, and that he must fight to protect them. Takeshi then becomes a brave, loyal, and powerful member of the team. Since sustaining crippling injuries at the hands of Kou Karunagi, Takeshi and the White Rabbit was in a dormant, cocoon-like state and was communicating with Alice while the rest of the team was fighting in Carillon Tower. However, when Ryo and the Jabberwock merged with Black Alice, White Alice offered Takeshi his choice of one of many weapons, all of which would give him more power than any earthly weapon. Takeshi declined the power however, and instead took White Alice with him out of her isolation in Carillon Tower, and using their combined power they were able to attack and merge with the Jabberwock which allows White Alice to directly confront her evil half.  Takeshi's ARMS is called White Rabbit, and is concentrated in Takeshi's legs. Takeshi can run and jump incredibly fast, perform seemingly impossible midair maneuvers, and fly up to several hundred feet. Takeshi is also capable of performing astoundingly fast kickboxing capable of shattering concrete and high speed acrobatic manoeuvers. To put it in perspective, he was able to weave in and out of the spinning blades of two helicopters and move and attack so fast that even the Red Caps, using their telepathic abilities to anticipate his moves, couldn't keep up with him. The White Rabbit's nano-machines allow Takeshi to heal injuries much faster than a normal human. White Rabbit's ultimate form is a winged humanoid that can fly faster than the speed of sound. Mousse is a long-time friend of Shampoo, though she might not view it that way. He has been in love with her for most of his life, but she finds him annoying at best. He can&#039;t see very well without his glasses, often mistaking someone for something else. He comes to Nerima in search of this &quot;new fianc&eacute;&quot; that Shampoo has, and he stays to attempt to woo his sweetheart. Shampoo rebuked his advances when they were children and this still holds true by Amazon law, even if he manages to defeat Ranma in combat, but he remains persistent. Now a waiter at the Cat Caf&eacute;, he turns into a duck thanks to his own Jusenkyo curse. When in human form, his clothes contain weapons of drastic proportions, including needles, chains, swords, bombs, household appliances, and just about anything else imaginable. Netto is Rockman's operator, a NetNavi who was given to him by his father. He is lazy when it comes to his homework, but really likes Netbattles. The two of them fight evil organizations like World 3, Gospel, etc. In Axess, he joins the Net Saviors, protectors of the peace in the net, and has the ability to preform Cross Fusion (Fusion of Navi and their operator in the real world).

The main character. A citizen of Japoness, a country of Terra II which resembles feudal Japan &amp; guardian of the Japoness Sabers: Lime, Cherry, &amp; Bloodberry. He eventually discovers the three marionettes and forms a sort of family with them. Initially, Otaru seems to be very asexual and becomes constantly overwhelmed by the marionettes and their affection, which he returns only platonically, and equally to the three. His weapon is a sai in which the blade can extend to become a sword and the tail of it can be used to reel his friends to safety. Has a distinctive two-color hair-style of light brown on the front and dark brown in the back.

Ryuuki Shi is the reigning emperor of Saiunkoku. He is nineteen years old when the story begins. The youngest of six brothers, he was an unlikely candidate to ascend to the throne. Of his five elder brothers, four killed each other over the succession and one was exiled for treason. As a child, Ryuuki was badly mistreated by his mother and his brothers, except for his brother Seien, who seemed to be the only one who truly cared for him. His other brothers and mother used to beat Ryuuki and lock him in a closet for hours at a time, telling him his birth order was bad and that he stole affection from his siblings. These experiences led to a lingering fear of the dark and sleeping alone. Ryuuki often took refuge in the garden or the imperial archives, where he first encountered Shouka Kou. Shouka tutored the young prince and encouraged War General Taifu Sou to teach him swordsmanship.    Due to his father&#039;s dying wish, Ryuuki ultimately rose to the throne. Eita's friend and class-skipping companion. Being a member of a wealthy family and independent of his parents, his house becomes a place for Eita and Margery to stay. Both him and Eita like Margery, but he hides his feelings.

Bradley "Brad" Swaile is a Canadian voice actor. He has acted in several animated series, known mostly for his anime roles; particularly that of Amuro Ray in the original Mobile Suit Gundam series and movies and Quatre Raberba Winner in Gundam Wing. Swaile is also known for his roles in Dragonball Z (The Ocean Group Dub), as Adult Gohan, and X-Men: Evolution, as Nightcrawler. He can be currently heard as lead male Rock in Black Lagoon and Light in the hit anime Death Note and the same character in its dubbed live action counterpart.
