Kokubu Karin is a Grade 7 junior high school student attending Sei Ringo Gakuen. She has bright red hair that she wears up as a ponytail and, like the two wisps on her sides, has curly ends that reminiscent to a curly pig&#039;s tail. Karin also wears a ribbon with a blue ball, just on top of the pony tail.    Although Karin is klutzy, she has a caring heart. Because of this she helped Ton-chan in the first place, and that made him choose Karin as Buurin, the Pig Girl of Love and Courage.    Karin has a crush on Mizuno Kouichi, but he likes her alter ego Buurin. This caused worries in Karin. Her other worries came from her father, little Shuuhei, and later Jimmy Matsumoto, who are always on her tail when she appears as Buurin.

Hatoko is a 5 year old known as the &quot;miracle kindergartner&quot; and is Misaki&#039;s best friend and Angelic Layer mentor. Even at a very young age, she is extremely intelligent, mature, and hard-working. She is an expert at Angelic Layer, often winning her games in mere seconds. She wins all ten of her games at the Tokyo prefecture games, and is the defending champion of the Kantō regional games. From that point on, she becomes a key player in the war against Neos Gold's evil forces.  As Iczer-3's partner, she develops a powerful telepathic bond with the gynoid. Shortly after, she also begins to frequently experience strange dreams. These dreams are in fact a flashback to the Iczer-1 OVA, revealing that she is the granddaughter of Iczer-1's partner, Nagisa Kanō. Like her grandmother before her, Nagisa's emotional state is the key to powering Iczer Robo in battle, though it is later revealed that Iczelio Energy (イクセリオ・エネルギー, Ikuserio Enerugī?) is the core power source. She also acts as Iczer-3's guardian while she is on Earth, and when Iczer-1 arrives on Earth, Nagisa seems to immediately recognize her.
