Ippo Makunouchi is the main protagonist of the series. He lives with his mother, Hiroko Makunouchi, and helps with the family charter boat fishing business. Ippo is a classic power in-boxer and is well known for his Peek-a-Boo style of boxing and hard punches which include three signature punches: a rib-cracking liver blow, Gazelle punch (an uppercut variant), and the Dempsey roll technique. His signature punches appear to be modeled after Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson and Jack Dempsey respectively. Ippo is bullied throughout most of his school life. After being rescued by Takamura, he ends up being brought to Kamogawa Gym, where he displays an explosive punching power. After seeing a video of Mike Tyson, he becomes inspired to take up boxing to feel reborn with strength. He soon proves himself to Takamura and Kamogawa, and starts on the path to being a pro boxer.

Despite his pleasant and calm outward expression, Hakkai is a demon not to be reckoned with. He is capable of channeling his chi into powerful bursts of energy in battle, and can also form it into a shield to protect himself or his friends. He wears three earcuffs that act as his limiters. When removed, his true power is released. He can often dispatch demons much larger than himself or numerous foes in this form. Hakkai is often reluctant to do so due to the possible danger to his friends.

Out of Sanzo's companions, as well as Sanzo himself, Hakkai is the one who takes care of most of the group's basic tasks: cleaning up after them, shopping, cooking, etc. The jeep Hakkai drives is actually his small magical dragon companion, Hakuryuu.

Hitsugaya comes from Junrinan, District 1 of Rukongai. There, he lived with an old woman (said to be his grandmother), Momo Hinamori, and possibly other people. Little else is known about his past, but it is known that he became a Shinigami shortly after Hinamori. He is also a friend of Jidanbou, the West Gate Keeper, and was the one who taught him the "city rules."  As a child, Hitsugaya was a bit of a brat who liked to eat watermelons and poke fun at Hinamori. The two were close friends and Hitsugaya, despite being younger and much shorter than his friend, always felt that he needed to protect her. With Hitsugaya's natural talent, he quickly entered the Shinigami Institute shortly after Hinamori, despite his age. She continued to call him "Shiro-chan" out of habit and felt she needed to protect him. Because of a promise she had made, she only began to call him "Hitsugaya-kun" after he had achieved his Zanpakutō's initial release and was recognized as a Shinigami. Highly capable and knowledgeable, he quickly became the youngest of the Captains within the Gotei 13. His favorite foods are watermelon and sweet nattou. He also hates hot weather.

Leader of the elite army unit Obstinate Arrow. He attempts to kill the Scrapped Princess and kidnaps Winia Chester to lay a trap for the guardians. He is beaten in a duel by Shannon and asked to stay away in exchange for sparing his life. Later, in order for him to gain access to the castle's resources, he is officially adopted by Baroness Bailaha as her son. Kikumaru is the other half of the Golden Pair, and because of their personality difference, Kikumaru and Oishi were able to balance their relationship as friends and teammates.

When the audience is first introduced to Kamui at the very beginning of X, he appears to be nothing more than a brooding and somewhat cocky fifteen year old from Okinawa who is gifted with extraordinary telekinetic powers. He has returned to the place where he spent his early childhood, Tokyo, for the first time in six years, prompted to do so by the mysterious dying words of his mother, Shirou Tooru, that his destiny awaited him in Tokyo.

Charismatic and mysterious, wielding strange inhuman powers, he is bent on recovering a certain person and is ready to do anything to accomplish that goal. Later on it is revealed that he is a vampire and the twin to Subaru, the vampire Seishirou is chasing after. As payment for Subaru's wish, Kamui gives Fai his blood to save the latter's life.!~

Master Mage Clef is the man appointed by the Pillar of Cephiro to lead the Legendary Magic Knights to help finish the legend. However, on the very first time Clef and the Magic Knights met, he was turned into stone by High Priest Zagato. Even so, he still helps them out. He has a very good and nice personality. In the second series, Clef is helping to guard the palace from invasions by neighbouring countries. He almost lost his life when he used a strong spell to bring back all the Magic Knights from Lady Debonair and Innova.

As a child, Soichiro was bullied and tormented because his family consists of demon exorcists, and were not well liked as a result. The apartment he shared with his mom was also covered in offensive messages. Soichiro started fighting early as a result, beating up those who tormented him. In elementary school, he met up with his best friend Bob Makihara, and they started calling themselves the Knuckle Bombs. The pair go to school beating up everyone they find until they have been proven the strongest. Upon arriving at Todo Academy, Soichiro quickly learns he is nowhere near as strong as he thought.    Soichiro fights using street fighting methods as opposed to real martial arts. He prides himself on being a thug and therefore he fights without honor, usually with cheap shots, etc... However, he does seem to draw line when it comes to hitting women. After training with Maya Natsume, he learns more martial arts moves including the Forged Needle attack. Throughout the Manga, it is shown that Soichiro and Aya Natsume have some sort of mental connection between them that calls to the other when they are in trouble.    Soichiro is a teen obsessed with fighting and takes a lot of pride in that. Ironically, he believes that fighting doesn&#039;t resolve anything, and fights more for fun than anything else. Initially, he is believed to have an average, or below average intelligence. He is very cocky and gets angered easily, and always has wise cracks. He isn&#039;t very good with being around girls, because he had little contact with them up until high school because they thought he was creepy. When he enrolled into Todo Academy, he fought Masataka Takayanagi resulting in him losing his first major fight. He falls in love with Maya Natsume, because she is similar to him. Through out the series, he repeatedly has shown he has trouble showing any affection towards people he cares about. Soichiro is slowly changing, and starting to become more intelligent and starting to build the charisma of a leader. For example, Soichiro actually gets Kagesada Sugano (almost solely referred to by his nickname asshat in the manga or scum in the anime) to once again become an active Juken Club member. Their initial encounter seems to inspire Kagesada to quit his typical cowardly behavior and fight. Soichiro also occasionally breaks the fourth wall. The two most notable instances of this are in chapter 3 when he states that he&#039;s supposed to be the &quot;hero&quot;, and in episode 24 of the anime when he refers to Masataka as a secondary character.    Aya is in love with him, but he seems uninterested because he is in love with Maya, although later on in the series he shows signs of liking or possibly loving her, not reacting so drastically when Aya shows her affections and trying to protect or comfort her (such as in chapter 109 when Soichiro, after Aya&#039;s fight with Hirohiko, goes to check on her because he is worried about her even though he won&#039;t admit it, which ends up in him receiving a kiss from her outside of the shower where they first met). Maya&#039;s feelings for Soichiro are unknown. Later on, Shizuru Kamura, she also develops a crush on Soichiro and views Maya as an enemy as a result. Soichiro also seems to be rather protective of his mother, even though it doesn&#039;t seem so initially. He plans to drop out and take over her work so she can finally retire after he competes in this years tournament.

Shuuhei is an extremely mature and calm individual, a state that is slightly at odds with his somewhat punk-like appearance. He usually takes responsibility, and tends to avoid violence when possible. He seems to be virtuous, much like his Captain's image; until later, when it was revealed his Captain was a traitor. He is often seen in the company of Renji and Kira. Along with Hinamori, Renji and Kira followed Shūhei as their senpai during their academy days. Omake chapters also show that he is quite perverted.

A claustrophobic 4th-year timpanist (percussion), who is an okama. He has the body of a male, but a mind of a female. He developed a crush on Chiaki. Since Nodame starts to hang out with Chiaki, he considers her as a rival and often bullies her and anyone else who tries to get close to Chiaki. Despite his idiosyncrasies, he excels on his percussion skills, earning him the title of "Queen of Percussion" and a place in the S and R☆S orchestras conducted by Chiaki.

The Seventh Neck (七の首, Nana no kubi), he is the only Orochi who was able to resist becoming completely evil. Sōma is the lone protector of Himeko and Chikane for most of the series and later plays a part in bringing the Orochi down. He has a very high social standing at their school, comparable to Chikane's, and most of their fellow students believe they are dating, though in truth they rarely interact until the Orochi events.   ~!Like Chikane, he is in love with Himeko and is incredibly protective of her, fighting to keep her safe until he is overwhelmed by the Orochi curse and put out of action, though he is later rescued by his brother Tsubasa.!~

Shiro is a young soldier that has been chosen to be the leader of the 08th MS team. He is very confident of his abilities, and wants to get back at the Zeon Forces for destroying his home colony Side 2. Eventually Shiro learns that Earth combat is much different from Space combat, and he slowly loses trust from his team as he falls in love with a Zeon Pilot, Aina Sahalin.

Yousuke Otoha is a character dark in history and actions, breaking the traditional mold of a Japanese hero. He is portrayed as the product of incest between his mother and his brother who is the local yakuza boss. Otoha's back-story states him as suffering from congenital insensitivity to pain which lends the character a merciless reputation as his brother's enforcer.  Suffering from post-traumatic amnesia, Otoha has accepted the role of protector of Tokyo, the role of Karas, to to defend its inhabitants and the youkai from Eko and his Mikura. With his pocket-watch device (no explanations on that through the series), Otoha can transform into different forms. He can take on the form of "Hishokaku" to fly, or a ninja-like form to fight. Soushi Minashiro is one of the children on Tatsumiya Island who knows the truth-- the world has been under invasion by an alien race called the Festum for the past three decades and Japan was destroyed 28 years ago.

He is the son of [Kouzou Minashiro](https://anilist.co/character/191389), the commander of the secret military fortress Alvis, which is hidden in the bowels of the peaceful-seeming Tatsumiya Island. From a very young age, Soushi was bred to become the next commander of Alvis, so he has had a very isolated childhood carrying the heavy secret of the war and being told day in and day out that he must live only to protect the island.

Neji Hyuuga is a stoic member of Might Guy's Team Guy, consisting of himself, Rock Lee, and Tenten. Neji and Lee have somewhat of a rivalry, much like that of Guy and Kakashi Hatake. Lee is determined to prove that a "failure" such as himself can defeat a "genius" such as Neji. Neji, however, doesn't seem to be interested in this goal of Lee's, and Lee doesn't seem to have made an effort to prove the point to Neji. Despite this apparent clashing of ideals between the two, Neji seems to get along fairly well with Tenten, with the latter often helping Neji with his training. Neji and Tenten also tend to share opinions on Lee and Guy's overreactive behaviors, often wondering how they can train the way they do.  As a member of the Hyuga clan, Neji possesses the Byakugan, allowing him to see the chakra flow of others and block the flow upon contact with his Gentle Fist style. As a member of the clan's branch house, Neji can never hope to be taught how to use the clan's most secret techniques by the clan's elders. Despite this, Neji has learned many of the clan's strongest techniques independently, even creating a few unique skills of his own. Because of this, Neji is known as a genius ninja and graduated from the Academy as the #1 rookie.  Because his father, Hizashi Hyuga, was a member of a branch house of the Hyuga clan, Neji was born into the branch house. As a result, he was branded with the Hyuga branch family seal at a young age so that the members of the main house could keep him in check. Hizashi, believing Neji to be denied his potential as a branch house member, openly resented the main house, causing Neji to acquire the same feelings due to his father's influence. In time, Neji's hatred for the main house would increase exponentially as result of Hizashi being sacrificed to save the life of Hiashi Hyuga, Hizashi's twin brother. Neji believed that his father was forced to die for his twin brother. Because of this, Neji came to feel that fate was something decided at birth and that no matter what one does, people cannot escape their destiny. This idea would go on to shape Neji's life, creating a deep hatred for the main house and all of its members.   After the Chunnin Exams when Neji fights Naruto his both his great skill and potential are recognized by the clan leader, his uncle Hiashi Hyuuga, and is sought out by him to train with the main branch of the family to further enhance Neji's skills. This helps ease some of the tensions between the two branches of the Hyuuga clan.

Koji Minamoto is a main character in the Digimon anime series &quot;Digimon Frontier&quot;. In this series, a group of chosen human children were given the ability to turn into digimon.    Koji was the child chosen to wield the Spirit of Light. Koji starts the series as the group loner - a kid who wanted friends, but never had the chance to make any because he had to change schools too many times. Koji receives Ophanimon's cell phone message while he was out buying flowers for his stepmother. He followed the instructions on the SMS, which led to a subway station where a Trailmon took him to the Digital World.    Koji travelled alone until he met Tommy and J.P. and had to save the two from a horde of attacking Pagumon. From then on, Koji showed up to help the other Digi Destined from time to time, and then eventually joins the group permanently. He often distances himself from the others, refusing to let anyone get too close to him. This was revealed to be because he moved a lot, and believes that no matter how close two people can get, something pulls them apart, so he stops trying to make friends and be, as he puts it, 'better prepared for it.' Originally, he is rather cold and rude towards the other DigiDestined, but eventually softens up as he becomes closer to them.    Koji has a rough relationship with his stepmother Satomi, whom he insists is : &quot;Not my mom!&quot; As such, he is distant from his father, who often tries pushing Koji into trying to get along better with her. Around halfway through the series, Koji realises that Satomi wasn't trying to take his real mother's place, but only wanted to be a part of his family. Upon returning to the real world, Koji decides to give her a second chance.    Koji also meets his twin brother, Kouichi Kimura, for the first time in the Digital World. Koji's parents had split up when they were young, and his mother had moved out with Kouichi Kimura and their grandmother. Koji's father remarried, told Koji that his mother had died, and never informed him of his twin brother. As such, Koji never knew he had a brother, let alone a twin.    Ironically, Koji was the last to find out that Kouichi, in the Digital World, was only spirit with a semi-physical form (in the real world, Kouichi fell down a flight of stairs and went into a coma). Bokomon overheard the conversation between Kouichi and Crusadermon, and was forced into telling the others (Takuya, Zoe, J.P, and Tommy) while Koji and Kouichi were out of hearing range. Shiki is the main character of the Tsukihime series. He is a kind, honest, if not slightly playful second-year high school student. He is anemic and is prone to fainting, but he tries his best to live a normal life. He has the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception (Chokushi no Magan), allowing him to see the "Lines" and "Points" that enable him to kill all things using the highly effective assassination techniques hidden in his subconscious. Despite being constantly surrounded by death he has a greater appreciation for life than most people and would never take a human life.

Daisuke is the part of the main force behind the Special Services Bureau. Quite often he prefers spending his time defending the streets and avoiding any paper work involved (hence a running joke of him &quot;not turning in his reports.&quot;) Although he never really shows it, Daisuke is quite compassionate and has a strong sense of justice. However, he has deep and painful memories of the vanishing of his mother and his father (a politician) being murdered by an android. The only memoir of his father is a bullet pendant he wears around his neck.

He is the youngest master star diviner in history. His skills have allowed him to join his Majesty&#039;s Secret Service. Not believing in superstitions, he investigates the causes of Chagum&#039;s possession and tries to prevent the augured drought. The empire&#039;s Holy sage gives him the job to decipher the writings of an acient tome in order to defeat the Water Spirit.

Kadaj is the main villain for most of the movie. Along with his brothers Yazoo and Loz, he wants to find Jenova and absorb her cells so Sephiroth can return. The three of them are Sephiroth clones created by Hojo.    Kadaj is violent and very skilled with his double bladed katana (the Souba).

From the moment Yukito is introduced, it is clear that Sakura has an enormous crush on him. She continually marvels that he can be friends with her &quot;barbaric brother.&quot;

~!Everyone involved, including Yukito himself, believes that his meeting Toya in junior high school three years ago had been coincidence. However, Yukito&#039;s nature as the false form of Yue also means that many of the things he thought he knew about himself are false. He lives in an elaborate house with his grandparents (the house is real, but the grandparents do not exist). In fact, it is unclear whether or not Yukito himself existed at all before his meeting with Toya and introduction to Sakura.

Yukito is peripherally involved in many of Sakura&#039;s adventures as the Cardcaptor, mainly because of Sakura&#039;s crush on him and his close proximity to the Kinomoto family. In the process, Yukito becomes the object of another juvenile crush; this one held by Syaoran Li. However, it is discovered later that Syaoran was just attracted to the magical energies of the moon residing within Yukito, as Syaoran draws his magical power from the moon.

Not until the last Clow Card is collected does Yukito&#039;s true form, Yue, emerge and challenge Sakura&#039;s right to the cards. Afterwards, the Yukito and Yue personalities coexist, with Yukito unaware of Yue&#039;s presence.

Unfortunately, the strain on Yue&#039;s energies becomes so great that even Yukito&#039;s massive consumption of food can no longer support it. Yukito begins to fall ill, becoming drowsy, falling asleep at the slightest opportunity, and eventually beginning to fade away altogether. The only thing that can save him is a massive infusion of magical energy, which Yue finally receives from Toya (whose earlier efforts to warn Yukito of his plight were continually interrupted by the aggressive Nakuru Akizuki).

Soon afterwards, Yukito listens to and very gently declines Sakura&#039;s confession. He has always been aware of Sakura&#039;s feelings but tells her that he believes they are more platonic (as Yukito resembles Sakura&#039;s father) than romantic. Sakura immediately realizes that &quot;the one (Yukito) likes best&quot; is in fact Toya. Earlier that day, Yukito had told Toya how alarmed he was that he had suddenly learned about the existence of the Yue identity and the falsehood of most of his memories, but Toya replies that it doesn&#039;t matter to him since the moments they have shared together are real. After Yukito rejects Sakura the two of them seem to adopt a brother-sister type of relationship.

In the manga, Yukito is last seen in the Kinomoto kitchen with Toya, helping to prepare breakfast. There&#039;s a similar scene in the anime series, where they&#039;re preparing lunch. This somewhat implies that Toya has come to fully understand Yukito&#039;s feelings for him and reciprocates them.!~

A 16-year-old boy who attends a private academy with his sister. After becoming involved in Tokiko Tsumura's fight and subsequently being killed and revived by a Kakugane (which later turns out to be a dark Kakugane), he is told to simply return to his ordinary life, but instead insists upon assisting Tokiko in her battles. Kazuki is very enthusiastic and friendly, and cares deeply for his friends and sister, Mahiro, tending to put himself in danger or difficulty in order to assist or protect others. Although he has an unusual way of showing it, he does have feelings for Tokiko Tsumura.     ~!The Kakugane Tokiko used to revive Kazuki turned out to be Black Kakugane III, which transformed him into a being just like Victor. He is then pursued by the 'Muto-assassination team', as well as his former commander, Captain Bravo. During his assassination, he was dubbed 'Victor III' by the Alchemy Warriors. In the end, he sacrifices himself when he sends himself and Victor to the moon with Sunlight Heart +. In Buso Renkin Period, however, he returns to Earth successfully with help from Victor's Buso Renkin, Fatal Attraction. As soon as he returned to Earth, he and Papillon settled their scores, with Kazuki claiming victory. After this, he returns to a normal life with Tokiko.!~

Cytomander the Swift is one of the Spiral King's Four Divine Generals and the commander of Teppelin's aerial forces and owner of the flying battleship, the Dai-Gunten. As General Adiane only gets along with General Thymilph, it seems that Cytomander only gets along with General Guame, just like cytosine and guanine only bond with each other in the double helix of DNA. Cytomander attacked the Great Gurren Brigade twice, losing his life the second time, when the Dai-Gunten exploded.    Cytomander's name is based on the DNA chemical cytosine and the elemental Salamander. His Gunmen, Shuzack, is based on the mythical Vermilion Bird, Suzaku

In his 24 years of life, Fugano Masuo, has not been able to find love.  Desperate, Masuo consulted a fortune teller.  The prediction,&quot;In you life time, you will never be able to get a lover&quot;.  It was a big shock for poor Masuo!  He made a bold move and went to a marriage interview pub.  There, he met Nagisa, a beautiful woman brought along by her friend Isobe.  Thus begins Masuo's life as he struggles to win Nagisa's heart through constant set backs and rivals, nothing seems to go right for Masuo for very long.  You'll see him crumble to dust or turn in to liquid many times over when he is spurned by Nagisa, but he never truly gives up and somehow manages to come through. Senri Shiki is one of the youngest Night Class members and works as a model with Rima Touya. He stands at 178 cm tall. Senri is usually the one sent out to hunt down a level E vampire. He is able to control and bend his blood at will. Senri's father is Rido Kuran, making him Kaname and Yuki's cousin, and his mother's uncle is part of the council. As part of a plan to resurrect himself, Rido possesses his son's body. During Rido's fight against Rima, Shiki is able to awaken within himself and attempt to regain control of his body. After Rido's revival, Senri regained consciousness of his body.
