Originally appeared in Outlaw Star as a stubborn, hotheaded officer of a pirate-fighting group called Angel Links. He is much more relaxed than his Outlaw Star incarnation and tends to view humans as very inferior to his people. Duuz is the ship's Platoon Commander.        Known for being the most powerful among his people (called Dragonites in Angel Links rather than Saurians), he is unmatched in swordsmanship and barehanded combat. Highly powerful and deadly, Duuz fights battles alone (though he is assisted by Meifon, Kosei and Valeria occasionally) and never seems to suffer any kind of damage. He is so skilled that he can deflect bullets with his sword. Incidentally, like Valeria, he is often the most calm member of the entire crew, silently polishing his cherished sword. He is also wise and contemplative, and is able to read the enemies' moves with little trouble as well as give advice "like a wise old dragon".        Duuz is a vegetarian, and does not like seafood. In regards to his appearance, he has different coloring for his scales and his eyes, and a tail more like a crocodile's rather than the short stub he had in Outlaw Star. This repulsive, beastly ninja has hair that can do more than just get in tangles, but is literally more like a hornet&#039;s nest. Nenki can uses his hair as arms and legs, while other times they work in sync as thousands of needles, scouring his victims. Also known as Nosferatu Zodd, or Zodd the Immortal, an apostle who has lived for three centuries fighting countless battles in search of worthy opponents. Zodd has the ability to transform from his human-like form into a more menacing creature, resembling that of a minotaur with the face and tail of a tiger along with a pair of bat-like wings that he can retract and grow at will. Zodd first encountered and defeated Guts and Griffith during a castle raid, ultimately deciding to spare them upon realizing Griffith's crimson behelit and Guts' inevitable fate. Zodd has had a long standing rivalry with Skull Knight, along with Guts as he increasingly became a more capable opponent.   ~!Zodd eventually found the "Ultimate Strong One" in Griffith, instantly being defeated by the Hawk of Light within a dream and costing him his left horn. Afterwards, his search for his ultimate opponent was over, he swore his servitude to Griffith in the new Band of the Hawk. He serves the new Band in many of the same roles that Guts served in the old one, including being Griffith's right hand man, most trusted confidant, and strongest warrior. Zodd's ability to fly made possible both Griffith's rescue of Charlotte and Guts' attack on Ganishka at Vritannis. As both a reminder of his defeat and to make the fact he is a replacement of Guts in this new band of Hawk very clear, his left horn has never regrown like Guts' missing right eye. His reason for joining the band of Hawk is much like Guts' also mainly because he was defeated by Griffith.!~

The second general sent by Emperor Zambojil to keep an eye on Prince Heinel and kill him if necessary. He kept his identity concealed most of the time with a blank mask. Upon arrival, he created a combat beast with a special alloy called Maxingal, the same alloy used for his armor, which was supposedly impervious to Voltes V's weapons and sword.   ~! Using this alloy, he intended to defeat Voltes V and take over Heinel's position, but lost and became Zuhl's replacement under Heinel. Since his arrival, all beast fighters constructed has Maxingal as standard armor but they're still no match when Voltes V upgraded its sword with the Chōdenji/Superelectromagnetic Ball. Afedersiniz Hesap Lutfen (which means &quot;excuse me, check please&quot; in Turkish), is Ed&#039;s father. He is a cartographer on Earth (a questionable occupation on a planet which undergoes changes to its landscape daily due to asteroid impacts). In episode 24 of Cowboy Bebop, Ed put a 50.000 000 Oolong bounty on him, which Jet and Spike saw as 50 million Oolongs (it is in fact only 50) and decided to collect his bounty. This allowed Edward to find her father, who asked her if she wanted to come along with her, but left without hearing her answer because a meteor struck.

(則巻千兵衛 Norimaki Senbei, "Seaweed-wrapped Rice cracker"), Penguin Village's goofy, and lecherous genius inventor; he can also transform into a more handsome, taller version of himself (for a very brief period of three minutes). The man who hosts every Tenka-ichi Budokai from the beginning of Dragon Ball to the end of Dragon Ball Z. He mainly just commentates on the matches, but over the years he has become an acquaintance with the Z Warriors, and knows that they are responsible for saving the Earth. He even says so in one episode that they killed Cell, although it was Son Gohan in actuality that destroyed the villain. He doubts Mr. Satan's abilities, such as in the episode Vegeta goes out of control. In every tournament, aside from the 21st, something bad happens that enhances his role such as in the King Piccolo Saga, he witnessed Kuririn murdered by the Demon King Piccolo's warrior Tambourine and later he becomes very important as he witnesses Son Goku's fight with Piccolo from the sidelines with the others, making him one of the few "civilians" to know the truth.   At the end of Dragon Ball Z, his age starts to show as he is losing hair and has very noticeable wrinkles, but in Dragon Ball GT his descendant's hair remains white. Although he doubts Mr. Satan for being the one who defeated Cell, he praises him in order to make fans cheer.

Mutaito is Muten Roshi and the Tsuru-Sen&#039;nins&#039; teacher. He successfully seals Piccolo Daimaō in the Denshi Jar with his Mafūba technique, but in invoking the attack, he dies from the severe exhaustion of using the move. In the anime, Son Goku actually meets Mutaito and he&#039;s the first person in the series to teach Goku about controlling his &quot;ki&quot;. In fact, he&#039;s the first person to even mention the word, which soon becomes the explanation for the incredible energy techniques used throughout all of the Dragon Ball series.

Commander Red is the leader of the Red Ribbon Army. While he puts up the front that he plans to take over the world, his true plan was to use the Dragon Balls to wish to become tall. Assistant Black overhears this and pleads that the Red Ribbon Army did so much, and risked a lot for his ambition, instead of world conquest, therefore it wasn't worth the risk and could lead to their ultimate defeat. When Red doesn't listen, he is then shot on the head and killed by Black who then renames it the Black Ribbon Army.

Shen Long is the wish granting dragon of Earth. The Shen Long of the Black Star Dragon Balls is red, opposed to the Shen Long of Earth who is green.  Shen Long can be summoned by gathering all seven of the Dragon Balls of Earth. Shen Long can bestow any wish as long as it does not exceed the power of his creator, who must be still alive (i.e. Kami or Dende). 

Multiple times in the Dragon Ball series, Shen Long threatens to kill the summoner if they do not say a wish on time, or if they do not say a wish at all. Shen Long cannot bring back a person from the dead more than once. The Dragon Balls cannot be used for 365 Earth days after a wish is made, as they turn to stone. The Earth Dragon Balls are relatively small, each about the size of a large orange, much smaller than the Namekian Dragon Balls, which are the size of beach balls. The base for Shen Long is a stone statue kept by his creator. If Shen Long is killed, the Dragon Balls turn to stone. The statue also shatters. If the creator or another Namekian wishes to, they can rebuild the statue to give life back to Shen Long and the Dragon Balls. This happened after Shen Long granted Demon King Piccolo's wish for youth.  

While Kami and Piccolo weren't merged, Shen Long could only grant one wish. After Dende brought him back to life, he was able to grant two wishes (three if the first does not revive more than one at a time). If the summoner wants, he can only make one wish. This makes the Dragon Balls turn to stone for only six months.

Recoome is a large, muscular human-like alien with red hair. He is the most flamboyant member of the Ginyu Special Corps, seen striking poses more often in battle than Commander Ginyu himself, and generally behaving in a deceptively goofy manner. Reacoom is a sadistic fighter though, and enjoys toying with his opponents and egging them on with taunts before killing them.      ~!Though fought with great difficulty by Gohan, Kuririn, and Vegeta, Reacoom is overcome by Goku with one hit. Later, after Vegeta kills Butta, he also kills Reacoom, completely destroying his body with a huge ki blast. Reacoom would then fight Yamcha in an afterlife filler and lose to him. Former General Philip Gargantos Armstrong is is the current head of the illustrious Armstrong family, father to Major Alex Louis Armstrong, Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong, and their younger sisters Amue, Strongine, and Kathleen Elle. His wife's name is not known. A bit of a windbag, Philip enjoys relating stories of his family's grandeur and his own eventful military career to anyone unfortunate enough to become his captive audience, and seems to have passed on this family pride to Alex. Being a former General, it would seem that Philip is a rather insightful man, quickly understanding from Oliver's demands for the Armstrong estate that Amestris was no longer safe, and taking his wife and daughter Kathleen off to Xing on an "extended vacation". Major Alex Louis Armstrong, the Strong Arm Alchemist, was born into an elite family of alchemists and has mastered his family's techniques. Members of his family have, in the past, filled the highest military and political positions in the state. He acquired his alchemy titles for his skill of using arm strength in his alchemy. All though he may look intimidating, he is really friendly and (overly)affectionate, and often stays behind or risks his life for the safety of others. He also has a tendency to show off techniques passed down to him to his enemies, and make them feel somewhat awkward during a battle.

Head coach and founder of the Kamogawa gym. He fought as a prizefighter in Japan shortly after the end of World War II. Along with his friends, Ginpachi Nekota and Dankichi Hama, Kamogawa developed a style of fighting that both presumably became the forerunner of boxing in Japan and emphasized scientific theory in its techniques. As a coach, Kamogawa&#039;s wealth of knowledge and experience has been tapped into on multiple occasions during training as well as in matches. Although he rarely admits it aloud, he is extremely proud of his two best boxers, Takamura and Ippo.

Raoh is the eldest of the four adopted children trained by Ryuken, the previous Hokuto Shinken master. The manga and anime gives two different origins thorough the course of the story. In his first origin, Raoh and his biological younger brother Toki, were adopted by Ryuken after their real parents died. A second origin shows that a young Raoh and Toki, along with an infant Kenshiro, were actually refugees who were sent to the "Eastern Land" to be trained in the art of Hokuto Shinken by Ryuken.  Raoh trained under Ryuken along with Toki and Kenshiro, as well as another student named Jagi. In spite of his ambitions to become the greatest martial artist in the world, Raoh lost the rights to the Hokuto Shinken succession to Kenshiro. Refusing to give up the style, Raoh killed his sifu Ryuken in combat and formed his own army, taking the name of Ken-oh, King of Fist. Among his many subordinates includes his adoptive brother Jagi, the Toki impersonator Amiba, Uighur the Warden of Cassandra Dungeon, Juda of Nanto Seiken, and Ryuga of the Star of Sirius, among others. Raoh also begins to ride a large black stallion named Kokuoh-Go (黒王号, Kokuōgō).   ~!Raoh first appears in the story after Kenshiro and his allies destroys Cassandra. Raoh and his army begin to occupy Mamiya's home village afterward. Rei is the first warrior to challenge him, but he proves to be no match against Raoh and is defeated. He is then challenged by both, Ken and Toki, and managed to thwart both. In the end, Raoh fights Ken again and the battle between the two men end in a stalemate, with both too wounded to continue fighting.  After Souther's defeat, Raoh re-emerges to resume his "conquest of the heavens". He gauges the extent of his recovery by challenging Koryu, Ryuken's former rival for the Hokuto Shinken succession and defeats him. Raoh then challenges his brother Toki to a fight and defeats him, but spares his life out of sympathy due to the fact that Toki was already dying from a terminal disease.  Raoh later fights the warriors of the Five Chariots, who challenge Raoh on behalf of the Last General of Nanto Seiken. When Raoh discovers that the Last General is actually Yuria, he rushes to the Capital of Nanto to capture her only to be confronted by Kenshiro, who has now mastered the ultimate Hokuto Shinken technique of Musō Tensei, the Unconscious Transmigration of Souls. Raoh manages to escape from Ken and takes Yuria captive with him.  Vowing to overcome the fear he felt fighting Kenshiro, Raoh decides to challenge Fudoh of the Mountains, the first person who ever made him feel fear. During his confrontation with Fudoh, Raoh learns that the only way he can ever learn Musō Tensei is to experience true sorrow. Raoh decides to take Yuria's life to achieve, only to learn that she is already dying from a terminal illness as well. Feeling sympathy for her fate, Raoh is able to master Musō Tensei as well. Raoh challenges Kenshiro to a final battle at the Hokuto Renkitōza, the North Star Mind and Body Training Ground. The two brothers engage in a long grueling battle, in which Kenshiro emerges as the ultimate victor.
