A mysterious girl in white who appears in almost every part of the .hack series. Aura is an incredibly powerful A.I. program, and is referred to as an "Ultimate A.I.". The story of her creation, and her purpose is the story of the entire .hack series.

As an ESWAT member, Deunan is a specialist in weapons handling, explosive devices manipulations, hand-to-hand combat, and an excellent Landmate pilot. According the Appleseed Databook, she is trained to be ambidextrous. In the original manga, Briareos was a cyborg before Deunan arrived at Olympus, and she managed to lose an eye in Volume 4, due to a training accident.  The following data is from the 2004 Movie adaptation.  The daughter of Carl and Dr. Gilliam Knute, Deunan, who is considered as a highly skilled warrior, has spent almost her entire life fighting in a war that was, for the most part, over. It wasn't until she was captured by an ES.W.A.T. (Especial Weapons And Tactics) team in the middle of a ruined city, led by Hitomi and her former lover Briareos, that she was finally evacuated from the Badlands. When she arrived in Olympus, the change of environment was severe, but it was a greater shock to her when she found that Briareos had lost over 75% of his original body during the last Global War and was now a cyborg.  The day after she was brought to the city of Olympus, Deunan learned that over half of the population of the city was composed of artificial humans called Bioroids. She also found out that her new friend, Hitomi, was one herself. Deunan also discovers that other people are looking for her, mostly because she possesses, without knowing it, the secret of "Appleseed". That interest will become important when Hitomi's life will be at risk and that the "Appleseed Data" will be needed to save her. But that would mean defying the powerful Olympus Regular Army (ORA), composed at 100% of humans and under the command of General Uranus and Colonel Hades.

A mysterious girl who lives in Arakawa. She is a self-claimed Venusian and later Kou&#039;s girlfriend. The origin of her name comes from the sweatsuit that she always wear that has the tag &quot;Class 2-3&quot; (Ni-no-san) on it. She is an incredible swimmer and can stay submerge for several minutes. With this skill Nino commonly goes fishing in the river and it is her job in the village to provide fish for the residents. She often forgets important information and often needs Kou to remind her. Her home is constructed of cardboard with the entrance sealed by a large curtain. Her lavish bed is made out of velvet, although she chooses to sleep in the drawer under the bed. If she becomes frightened or angry, she&#039;ll pull her sweatsuit over her head and climb on top of a streetlamp. 

In the anime, Rin Suzuki is a second year student at Shugyoku High School. She is Tamaki Kawazoe's friend and rival.  ~! By using the ascension stance she became the first person to beat Tamaki. In their rematch, she was happy to see that Tamaki had gotten stronger because it makes Rin more determined to win. She lost.!~  Like Tamaki, she is a fan of the Blade Braver anime, but unlike Tamaki, she’s primarily a fan of one of the shows antagonists, Shinaider. She travelled with the Ozawa Swords and Company Association as they choreographed and filmed fight scenes for the Cosmo 13 / Blade Bravers movie. When stuntman Fujimura got hurt on set, she stepped in his role as Shinai-Girl, making Tamaki take her place as the High School Girl.  She has not appeared in the manga, but Touryou Academy’s Kendo Club‘s coach, Teramoto, mentions “Suzuki from Kanto” as a someone who could be selected as one of the “Nine Kendo Beauties,” someone who could be a rival for Ura Sakaki.

Kyou is the older sister of the two. She delivers newspapers to make money for their small family unit and has also taken up a tutoring job. She is afraid of lightning, but won&#039;t even let that stop her to take good care of her younger sister. Kyou promised her deceased mother that she would take good care of Asu and is doing everything in her power to live up to that promise.

Machi is the sister of Manji who was driven insane after Manji killed her husband, Tatsumasa Saitou. 

The series' most prominent villain, Alphard is an attractive young woman who is both the leader of a terrorist organization called Snake and Canaan's arch-enemy. She appears easily capable of taking down Canaan even though the latter uses her synesthesia, reasoning that she is no longer manipulated by feelings unlike Canaan. In order to balance the immense positive magic of the Clow Cards, Clow Reed created the Nothing Card (無), containing negative magic equivalent in magnitude to the other fifty-two cards. Anything that comes into contact with it will cease to exist.     ~!Nothing appears in the second movie and is terribly lonely in the beginning, unable to interact with others without destroying them. The only beings that can interact with her safely are the other Clow Cards. As a result, Nothing tries to steal the Clow Cards (now Sakura Cards) so that she would not be alone again. Nothing&#039;s presence is vastly encompassing, once detecting Eriol&#039;s attempt to call Sakura about the card and destroying the phone lines as a result. Nothing continues to steal the Sakura Cards and destroys everyone and everything that Sakura holds dear; Nothing likely views Sakura as a villain who stole her &quot;friends&quot; (the Clow Cards) and intends for Sakura to suffer the same pain of loss that it has felt for centuries.    In the end, the Sakura Cards try to return to Sakura, and Nothing falls into hysterical despair, believing that her friends have abandoned her. However, Sakura convinces Nothing that it can be her friend, too, together with all the Cards. She returns Nothing to a Clow Card form and then transforms it into a Sakura Card by merging it with the Nameless card to form The Hope. All the damage and deaths caused by Nothing are then miraculously undone.    Nothing is composed of a spherical force field of emptiness where nothing exists. In the center of this force field, one could make out a young girl with long, silvery hair wearing a frilled dress. There is a constant expression of sorrow on the girl&#039;s face. Suu is the main character of the series.  In the futuristic world that she inhabits, the military conducted a search for gifted children nicknamed "Clovers", who seemingly have the magical ability to manipulate technology. Demonstrations of their powers include teleportation and summoning weapons from thin air. Suu is one of these children.  Being isolated from the rest of mankind, Suu craves for company, and as for her only wish, she asks to visit "Fairy Park." They fight for their freedom, so that they can have a country that they can return to that feels like “home”. Thus begins their fight against the adult world.  

Leila Malcal is the daughter of a Britannian noble family that disagreed with the dated system of rule in the empire, which made them defect to the E.U. as exiles. She was originally an adjutant to Commander Anou in the W-0 Unit during a military operation, but Leila confronted him over the use of Japanese youngsters for suicide attacks and finally removed Anou from his position. From the recent trailers and previews, it's hinted that Leila may possibly have some form of Geass.

A young 17 year-old priestess and the youngest priestess of Mount Muldoon ever. She was the top student of her class and took the place of Miz Mishtal after the former priestess of water married Fujisawa. Qawool’s servant is Alielle’s twin brother, Palnus. Qawool is also very afraid of insects, which causes her to destroy whatever is around her. Like Alielle, Qawool addresses Makoto Mizuhara as master, because he saved her life. She is also in love with him.  As a minor note, when The Alternative World was released in North America through Pioneer Animation (or Geneon, as it is now called), her name was written as "Qawool" and "Qawoor" on the packaging (the spelling used depended on the volume.) Ostensibly, this was done to make her name sound more native to El-Hazard, since "Qawool" can be hard for English speakers to distinguish from "Kaoru," a very common name in Japan. Hitomi is an ordinary school-girl with a crush on her track-team leader, Amano.  She meets and saves the life of Van, a young prince from that crossed a portal from a different world in order to slay a dragon. Transported to Van's world, Gaia, she finds her fate is intertwined with his, even if her heart still belongs to Amano and later Allen, a gallant knight who bears an uncanny resemblance to Amano.  Lost in Gaia with no apparent way to return home, Hitomi finds that her hobby of tarot card reading is becoming frighteningly accurate, complete with visions of both the past and future that shed light on this new, war torn world.

Mari Makinami Illustrious is an Evangelion pilot introduced into the franchise during the second installment of the four part theatrical remake series, Rebuild of Evangelion. 

Little is known about her as of yet except that she is the pilot of the Provisional Evangelion Unit-05 which differs from previous incarnations drastically featuring four mechanical "legs" that end in wheels and a lack of hands which have been replaced with a jousting lance and "claw". Because of it's unique design, Mari pilots her Eva wearing a helmet-like contraption and her plugsuit is equipped with several attachments that connect to tubing that apparently help her in moving the Evangelion. 

Mari is probably the most content with being an Eva pilot. She is also shown to be more informed than the other pilots, knowing various backdoors into both Nerv and the Eva operational programs and access Eva abilities known to only the higher-up staff of Nerv. Mari also revels in piloting Eva, usually singing over the comm-radio before excitedly engaging an Angel in combat.

The second to leave the Befort Children's group, although she leaves because she loses her memories.   ~! It was inevitable that she would grow weaker after Palza's departure, and one reincarnation later (when Palza, as Conrad, is much older than she), she starts forgetting who everyone is. This is when Dumas finds them standing over the deceased Serafine (Tina's incarnation) and, because she refuses to escape with people she can't remember, Mel is captured by one of Dumas' men. When the events of Fantastic Children take place she has been reincarnated as Dr. Gherta Hawksbee of the GED organization, which uses both Conrad's and the scientists from Greecia's findings. She was taken in as a child by the residents of Milos, a slum located at the bottom of the trench separating Amestris and Creta, and occupied by Cretan survivors of the skirmish between countries. Her parents were branded as traitors of her country and killed and her brother, Ashley, disappearing.    ~!As a member of Milos's resistance against the Amestrian-occupied Table City, she believes the only way to achieve victory is by harnessing the power of the Philosopher's Stone, which she uses to protect Milos from Atlas, a villain posing as her missing brother, and later from her own power-mad brother himself.
