He is the youngest and only second year student in the Rikkaidai line-up, thus earning him the title "Second Year Ace." He joined Rikkai because he heard the school had a very strong tennis team, but his hopes were quickly crushed by the Three Demons. He usually acts childish and friendly, though he is actually very violent on the court, often causing serious injuries that require hospitalization. He reforms in the anime after being beaten by Fuji, though he retains his nature in the manga; in the nationals in the anime, he returns to his violent playing style. While under high pressure or after sustaining injury, The whites of his eyes turn red, becoming bloodshot, and his power, skill, and speed increase. He becomes much more violent while in this state. Later, he develops a "Devil Mode", which turns his skin red and his hair white. His bloodlust and destructive power are greatly enhanced, and he solely focuses on crushing the opposing players using purely violent means. Kirihara's trademark shot is the "Knuckle Serve", a more powerful and extreme version of the Twist Serve, in which the serve goes straight for the opposing players body.

Genya is a devoted follower of Chiyoko&#039;s works, and goes to her with his cameraman to present her with a key that he had found hoping to hear of her tale.     ~!He later reveals to a surprised Chiyoko that he was on her late husband&#039;s production team, admiring her from afar and even saving her from a potentially fatal accident during a earthquake that collapsed the set.!~

Akutagawa Jirou is known as the person who sleeps a lot, and is often carried around by Kabaji. He defeated St. Rudolph's Fuji Yuuta within 10 - 15 minutes. He is a cheerful person and he gets really excited when he plays with a very strong person. He is a huge fan of Rikkai dai's Marui Bunta.

Ryoma Echizen is the protagonist of the Prince of Tennis series. He is the son of [Echizen Nanjirou](https://anilist.co/character/11823/Nanjiro-Echizen) and Takeuchi-Echizen Rinko. Ryoma is a first year student at Seishun Academy ('Seigaku' for short), which he attends immediately after his arrival in Japan after formerly residing in the United States. Although only a first year in middle school, Ryoma had already earned notoriety through winning four consecutive titles in the American Junior Tennis tournaments – all in a little over a year. Due to his nearly invincible tennis play, Ryoma has earned the label 'prodigy' by the age of twelve. His looks and confidence make him highly popular with ladies, although he seems not to notice, having his focus exclusively on tennis.  He is an all-court tennis player with many special shots and abilities. One of Ryoma's greatest talents is his ability to learn new techniques after only seeing them performed a few times. He also has an amazing amount of stamina and does not sweat as much as other players. Niou is known as the Trickster of Rikkai dai, thus making him a very difficult opponent. Aside from being a skillful doubles player (alongside Yagyuu), Niou is also a strong singles player. He is the only player in Rikkai dai who has enough guts to go against Sanada's strict orders.He is able to completely copy the techniques and play style of other players, creating the illusion his opponent is facing another person. It isn't completely perfect, as there are moves that he cannot copy and he is limited by his own physical abilities. He often copies his doubles partner, Yagyuu, to confuse their opponents. He can predict the moves of his opponents up to ten steps ahead.

Dan's contribution to the team is very significant, since he first worked as Yamabuki's manager. After learning from Seigaku's Echizen that height isn't important in tennis, he decided to learn more about his play style and started working as a member of the team. He is well-known for being a nice kid and always says "-dadadadan!" when he gets excited.

He holds the nickname of "Executioner of the Courts". For him, Tennis is only a ritual used to give his opponent a blood festival

Marty is a small, young kid with short, preppy brown hair. He wears yellow overalls with 2 long straps that extend over his shoulders. He wears also half-ripped blue jeans, carrying a small brown bag slung over his left shoulder.

Tomoe is a familiar to the last land god, Mikage. Currently he is the familiar of Nanami and sealed their contract with a kiss. He shows a wonderful talent for cooking and is shown to be highly dedicated to the shrine. Tomoe worries a great deal about Nanami and is very aware of how delicate she is as a human, threatening anyone who harms her or speaks ill of her. It is often implied that he loves Nanami, such as doing random acts of kindness for her and refusing to kill in front of her. Plus, it is also indicated that he sometimes gets very jealous of other guys who hang around her. He is also very loyal to Nanami, as shown by him kissing her to seal their contract again after it had been broken.   ~!In the most recent chapters it's revealed that he is in fact in love with Nanami, but Nanami is unaware of this. However, this triggered a 'switch' that causes Tomoe to return to his dying curse and remember his love for Yukiji, the girl he previously loved. It is shown that when she died, Tomoe, cursed and alone, lost his will to live and searched for a place to die until Mikage found him and sealed his memories. By doing that, the curse fell asleep and Tomoe was able to live a new life.!~ 

One of the two attendants at Nanami's shrine. Appears to be a bald childlike yokai wearing masks, but like Tomoe is able to shapeshift. Is extremely fond of Nanami and Tomoe both.

A mysterious man who was once the land god of the shrine, and who left twenty years ago for unspecified reasons. He met a newly-homeless Nanami and bestowed the land-god mark on her, saying that she was better suited to be the god than him. He has light hair and glasses, and wears a trenchcoat and hat.
