Ayato is the 5th child and the youngest of the triplet of the fraternal twins (the others being Kanato and Raito). He is a prankster and a very narcissistic boy, always claims to be number #1 in everything. He also has a passion for torture devices; such as the Iron Maiden that can be found in his room, which he uses as a bed (the spikes are removed). It is also noted that he eats a lot (only if it is his favorite food takoyaki and gets very angry if someone eats his food), although Ayato stated that vampires need to drink blood to savor the taste.   

~! He's been raised by knowing the only rule as "never failing in order to be loved", therefor he got used to always be perfect as that was a synonym for him to be worthy of love. Whenever he would've failed, his mom taught him that the punition would've been abuse and cruelty. All of this made him being the narcissistic person he is now. Obviously he never got a sane motherly love, he was only used by Cordelia to gain the attention to be noticed by her husband. He eventually grew to resent how his mom threated him, and tried to kill her once. In truth all of the attention he needs to have is due his deep need of love. !~   

He's voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru in the Drama CD.

A smart boy in the same grade as the other boys, who is a victim of bullying. He is knowledgeable in local legends and folklore. Through his friendship with Masayuki, who rescued Hoshino from the upperclassmen tormenting him, Hoshino begins to hang out with Tarou and the others. 

A member of the Scout Regiment and participated in the 57th Exterior Scouting Mission.
~!Dieter appears very unconditioned and mentally cracking. He shows great distress over the death of his friend Ivan, and disobeys his superiors when they refuse his request to retrieve his body; resulting in the death of his friend Jurgen. When confronted by Captain Levi, Dieter bursts into tears, cracking under the mental stress he had endured. Though he shows passion for his friends, this passion manifests itself in the form of recklessness resulting in comrades deaths!~

Karim is a second generation pyrotechnic, a Lieutenant of Special Fire Force Company 1, and priest of the Holy Sol Temple. He is a serious and cautious young man. He shows a high disrespect towards strangers, which can result in him insulting people.

Beans gives examinees their number badges prior to the Hunter Exam and gives a presentation on the uses of the Hunter License to the successful candidates of the Exam.
