Howl's apprentice. He is an orphan who lives in Howl's castle. His apprenticeship in magic largely consists of running errands and doing the shopping. In the book he is a fifteen year old boy named Michael Fisher, in love with Sophie's half-sister, Martha.

Conan is the only child of a group of refugees marooned on an island after humanity almost wiped itself out during World War III. When the show begins, he is living on the island with the last of the survivors, a man he calls "Grandpa".  Since Conan has been diving and fishing his whole life on the island, he can hold his breath for a very long time underwater. He carries a spear around with him that he uses to fight and catch fish with. Conan is also very strong, and uses his toes in many unorthodox ways. He uses his feet almost as often as his hands.   Conan is something of a wild boy since he grew up living only with his grandfather for human contact, but he is a kind person with an honest heart. He is especially very gentle with Lana, a girl who he befriends.

He is the six year old son of Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama who is now traveling with Ryu, but is currently in the custody of Tamao Tamamura.  He only appears in the special chapter, Funbari no Uta. He works with Ryu to search for someone. Hana is once shown holding the Futsunomitama (also known as the Antiquity in the English anime), which may mean he can use a Giant Over Soul like Yoh's. Tamao is introduced as his 'mother', but it is revealed that she is only acting as his guardian until Yoh and Anna return. At first Hana is apparently unaware that Tamao is not actually his mother; Tamao has chosen not to tell him who his true parents are until they return and she debuts as an enka singer. However in the final chapter of the KanZenBan manga, Hana is aware of who his parents are and welcomes them back by kicking Yoh in the stomach.  The name "Hana" means flower. Hana's name comes from the conjunction of the characters in Yoh (葉, also pronounced as Ha) and Anna's (ナ, Na) names.  One piece of evidence that points to Hana being their son is that, in volume 9 of the manga, Yoh and Anna slept together the night before leaving for America for the second round of the Shaman Fight. Also, Yohken asks him whether he has any children, where Yoh replies "No...well, how can I say that?", but is informed otherwise by Amidamaru. He meets the current Shaman King Hao who tells him something interesting will happen for him and disappears. Roy Alphard is a Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult, representing the bizarre eating aspect of gluttony. 
He has long disheveled brown hair, with green eyes that are yellow are the center and teeth shaped like sharp fangs. He wears a small piece of cloth around his body as clothing.


Unlike his brother Lye, Roy doesn’t care about what he consumes nor does he place any special emphasis on who he wants to eat like his sister Louis. As “bizarre eating” of gluttony, his approach towards his meals is much more casual, emphasizing quantity over quality. In combat unlike Lye he does not give his opponents a chance and likes to exploit their weaknesses to completely destroy them.

Roy has access to “Authority of Gluttony”, unlike other types of authority there are different forms and effects that come from being affected by the authority.

Roy can eat a name and memories of an individual. To achieve eating a name he touches the individual with his left hand, then licks the palm of the same hand. Roy can then take things such as experience, talent, likes and dislikes of human relationships and they can serve as food for him, allowing him to take advantage of any abilities or memories his opponents had. 

Those that have their names eaten have their existences erased from the world. This will end any human relationships and remove any contracts with spirits
Those who have their memories eaten become amnesic and any types of characteristics they had previous are removed.
Those who have their name and memories eaten become an empty shell, while they are still alive they no longer require the need to eat,excrete waste or age. 

While this ability is powerful on paper it has to major drawbacks

If Roy eats a fake name or memory he will become plagued with severe nausea.
Roy is also unable to eat the same person twice until that individual has gained enough new memories or has established a different sense of self from their old existence.

__Lunar Eclipse__ - This skill allows Roy to take an individual's memories and use them to harvest skills or knowledge they have learned for his own benefit. An example is when Roy used “Lunar Eclipse” to boost his physical strength and speed against Julius Juukulius and Ricardo Welkin . This skill CANNOT allow Roy  to take divine protections or spirit arts and authorities.

__Palm of the Fist King__ - A powerful strike that ruptures a person's internal organs, as well as outright, destroys physical objects like swords. It can also bypass mana based defensive techniques. Lye took this move from Neji Rockheart.

__Snake of the Twin Sword__ - A sword technique that launches several types of slashes at high speed.

Roy wields two claws from his hands that he uses with his speed and lightness. He also wields daggers that were hidden inside of his clothes.
