A mountain rescue specialist and lieutenant, he met Natsumi during a rescue mission on a tower. They would later encounter each other once again when Shouji is temporarily stationed at Bokuto Precinct as an instructor for rescue courses. It is then discovered that Shouji is the only character that has the physical strength and appetite to surpass Natsumi's. Although Natsumi initially views him as a nuisance and a rival, they eventually fall in love. Despite being frequently absent in places like the Himalayas, he and Natsumi have a strong relationship. Later on, Shoji named a monkey he befriended as Natsumi[19]. He enjoys eating bananas.  Shoji is an expert in mountain climbing and rappelling and, one time, uses his time in Bokuto Station to practice these two techniques.  He is also an expert in Kendo, being able to cut a banana in half with a Shinai with extreme concentration (self-proclaiming that he can only do it at a 50% success rate) but admitted defeat against Kachou at his challenge against him despite Kachou was not in his best shape. Phinks is a genius when it comes to unarmed combat. Phinks uses his hands in battle, which have been shown to be extremely powerful. He is rather brash and has a tendency to get into conflicts with other people. Phinks is one of the members of the Phantom Troupe that originated from Meteor City. He first appears in Egyptian Suit but later changed into jogging suit. He seems to get along with Feitan. Phinks also displays a level of compassion for Zazan's minions after they are released from her control. When they beg him to kill them he refuses to simply execute them on their knees, instead urging them to fight back and die in battle honorably.

Ripper Cyclotron: Phinks's nen ability involves how many times he rotates his arm. The more rotations that he does with the arm, the stronger his blow will become.

Kumohira is Rokujo's and Kouichi's english teacher in the "front world". He is a ninja of the Banten village in the world of Nabari. He is entirely devoted to protecting Rokujo, and wants him to become the ruler of Nabari. He has an intense hatred of transport, such as trains and buses, and would not get on one until Miharu manages to "persuade" him.

Among the Banten ninjas, Kumohira is the most vehement dissident against Miharu using the Shinrabanshou, instead advocating its permanent seal.

He likes gardening and bacon bagels. He dislikes all vehicles and specializes in pretending to be out and the Seal Cancel Technique.

Hachi's first lover. A handsome, older, married man, Asano carried on a secret affair with Hachi that ended when he was abruptly transferred to Tokyo. Though Hachi believed that she was in love with him, she made the painful realization that he saw her as merely a "fling". Hachi encounters him again in Tokyo and, after resolving her own personal issues with him, tells him to stop cheating on his wife.

A veteran samurai who fought valiantly for the Aizu clan during the Meiji restoration, acting as one of the commanders for their saboteur runs and assassinations. Also the master and creator of the Psychi Kamina sword style. However during the war Shigure lost his best friend and comrade Gentatsu (unknowingly to the hands of the Hitokiri Battousai during an attempted raid on the Choshu clan leaders who were planning an alliance with a rival clan at Suzuya.)     Shigure has burdened himself with Gentatsu&#039;s death and tries to make amends by housing and taking care of Gentatsu&#039;s younger sister Toki. However in secret with one of the other Aizu clan generals (a man named Kajiki) have gather survivors of the Aizo army and plan a new restoration to eliminate the Meiji government and to make Japan how he and Gentasu envisioned it should be.    He befriends Kenshin Himura after hastily dealing with some foreign sailors who were harassing Toki. Kenshin is warned by Hajime Saito about Shigure&#039;s dealings and activities. Kenshin brushes the warning off until he encounters Shigure in the midst of an assault on the British embassy. They fight then Shigure recognizes the swordplay kenshin uses and realizes Kenshin murdered Gentatsu, which enrages him to become more intense. The battle is cut short as Shigure retreats due to his army being overwhelmed.    Kenshin follows to a nearby fort where the Aizu remnant have barricaded themselves. With help from Sanosuke Sagara, Kenshin confronts Shigure one last time. After a while a teary eyed Toki runs in to embrace him telling him he&#039;s had enough fighting. Shigure succumbs to his emotions and breaks down saying that Kenshin had honoured Gentasu&#039;s death more than him.    A squad of imperial police led by Captain Tomino (a police officer who had conspired with Kajiki to betray Shigure in order to get promoted.) burst in to the establishment firing at  any opposition. Shigure shields Toki taking several bullets to his back. Shigure dies quickly afterwards whilst trying to apologize to Toki. Kenshin explodes violently nearly reverting to his Battousai form and charges towards Tomino. resisting at the last second to avoid killing Tomino. Tomino superior enters and arrests Tomino, meanwhile Kajiki&#039;s attempt to escape the situation is halted when he is killed by Hajime Saito.
