Yukinari Ookido is a Pokémon Professor and a major supporting character of the Pocket Monsters anime who lives and works at his research lab in Masara Town. He appears semi-regularly to give Satoshi advice to help him achieve his goal of becoming the greatest Pokémon Master.

Kyou was the Leader of Sekichiku City's Gym. He is a student of ninjutsu who specializes in Poison-type Pokémon. He handed out the Soul Badge to Trainers who defeated him. He became a member of the Indigo Elite Four some time after the events of Generation I, but before the events of Generation II, thus leaving his daughter Anzu in charge of the Sekichiku Gym.

Kyou is dedicated to perfecting his battling techniques. He attempts to confuse and disorientate his opponents to get the upper hand during a match.

The younger brother of Kureha, he fights using a technique called cord cutting which involves cutting your opponents nerves so they can&#039;t move. He does this because he was over shadowed by his older brother, Kureha, who always came to his rescue when they were children. Shinogi fought Baki in season 1 and was knocked out. In the Maximum Tournament, he fights his brother in round 1 who gives up after seeing Shinogi&#039;s resilience. He returns to Japan after finding out the Underground tournaments.
