Former IBI detective, Sven is now a sweeper, and Train's partner. He also takes Eve in as a sort of daughter after the events at Torneo's place. Sven's outlook is much calmer and more logical than Train's; he often has to use his brain to win battles since he doesn't possess the Black Cat's pure physical power. He follows a strict "gentlemen's code", which often makes him seem older to other characters.   The Forseeing Eye (under the eyepatch) allows him to glimpse into the future at the cost of great mental strain. In the manga, it eventually evolves into the Glasper Eye which can manipulate time. He otherwise fights with a briefcase filled with gadgets.

A humorous, overweight and endearing school doctor who has made it his mission in life to assist his students in any way he can. Secretly in love with his childhood friend and pretty nurse, Miyuki, Doctor Haruka conjures up unique but crazy inventions meant to help his students and impress Miyuki but which often lead to humorous, funny and very embarrassing situations for the doctor, Miyuki and the students and teachers of his school. Managing a medieval castle-like clinic and health center, Doctor Haruka has often tried to express his feelings for Miyuki but is thwarted by both his shyness and the consequences of his crazy inventions. The demonic presence dubbed 'King of the Cave' that dwells within The Counte of Monte Cristo, and the driving force behind his revenge plot throughout the series.  ~!The demon's origins are tied to the Chateau d'If where Edmond Dantes was imprisoned falsely, as he was calling out for death but gained Gankutsuou's power and drive and helped him to escape. Gankutsuou does fully manifest near the end of the series as a triple set of dual colored eyes that run down the greater length of the Counte's face, and is suppressed by a special drug. !~

First impressions of Ban are generally that he is a rude person and has a great sense of pride. With his unruly hair (He&#039;s often called &quot;Urchin Head&quot;) and sunglasses, people already judge him poorly (It doesn&#039;t help that he gives unflattering nicknames to almost anyone he meets, e.g. &quot;monkey trainer&quot; Shido and &quot;thread spool&quot; Kazuki). But he is actually a great guy with a strong sense of leadership and a very talented person. He is one quarter German and he&#039;s the grandchild of the &quot;Last Witch of the 20th Century&quot;.    He&#039;s also a brother-like figure to Himiko Kudo after she has gotten over her brother&#039;s death. Himiko&#039;s average fighting skills meant that she often bites off more than what she can chew. In such situations, Ban can be counted on to come to her aid (though it must be noted that she does return the favor at times).    In the GB duo, he&#039;s often the one who thinks of plans for their moves. Initially, Ginji was seen to be a sidekick to him. (In fact, when they first formed their partnership, Ban insisted that Ginji was only his sidekick.) As the story progresses, Ginji gradually held his own in their missions, and Ban acknowledged him as an equal.

Batou is nominally the second-in-command of Section 9.  Little is known about the strange, large foreigner who has been with Motoko Kusanagi for years.  He was once American and served in the Special Forces in South America.  His amount of cyborg-ization is variable according to the storyline, from his limbs only up to most of his body, second only to the Major herself.  Despite the availability of superior eyes, he grew superstitious about his old-style eye replacements, popular with many high-level military operatives.  He also retains some residual body-image issues, causing him to continually purchase workout equipment despite the obvious anachronism.  

A member of the eldora five, Nero is the apparent leader of the group. A strong lover of alcohol, Nero frequently drinks himself unconscious, all the while, telling heroic tales of his glory days. In the eldora five&#039;s armor, Nero is the chief gunner.    He first meets Van for the first time when Wendy drags an unconscious Van to the pink amigo restaurant for food. He takes to Van immediately as a fellow armor rider who does (what he considers) great, heroic deeds. He and the rest of the eldora five join Van for good later on when Van goes to assault The Claw&#039;s island.

The Claw (his real name is never revealed) is a mastermind with a nasty looking prosthetic right claw hand and the primary antagonist of the series. He killed both Van's and Ray's wives, and is the subject of their furious lust for revenge. Later in the series it is revealed he plans to create a new world which supposedly will bring happiness to all people and eradicate all sins one has committed during life. Before episode 12, he is only shown in flashbacks as a shadowy figure with the claw hand. In episode 12 however, Wendy runs into a kind, old man who helps her in overcoming her sorrow for her brother. Immediately after the conservation, it is revealed that this man is the claw man when he abruptly screws on his claw hand, to Wendy's horror.    His plan apparently is to change the world by dissolving himself and then combining with everyone and everything on the planet on a subconscious level, perhaps acting as a sort of conscience for people. It is never made clear what exactly would happen to civilization or to himself, nor how the process would occur. Though he denies any plans of world conquest, the fact of the matter is that his methods is a form of total dominance over free will and choice. The plan was also violently opposed by some of his crew members, claiming he was planning on committing genocide on the planet. In one of the episodes they attempt to commit a coup against him in order to force him into revealing the details for his plans. During the negotiations, the Claw Man seems to strongly prefer talk instead of violence, insisting that genocide is not part of his plans. This pacifism and goodwill can be debated, as he minutes later kills one of the rebels by hugging him (apparently of love) while slashing his back with his steel hand, thereby killing him. However, when he relinquishes him and discovers he is dead, he breaks into shock, saying &quot;I did it again&quot;, and repeatedly apologizing, as if unaware of his embrace being lethal for the rebel.    To realize his plans, he gathers a society of loyal and devoted followers (including Wendy's brother Michael and Van's mentor). Within this society he is only known as &quot;The Comrade&quot;.    He wears simple clothes most of the time, despite his high ranking. He also is shown to like gardening, and the company of animals. In general, he is shown to engage in creative and nurturing activities.

Takumi is a 4th year student at the start of the series and is from Kanazawa, Ishikawa-ken and an architecture student at the art institute. He lives in the same complex as Takemoto and Morita. He occupies room 101, sharing the floor with an unknown individual and formerly Lohmeyer-senpai. He acts as a senior to Takemoto and tries to help Morita get up for early morning classes. At one point, Takemoto and Morita are seen sleeping alongside him in his futon. Morita also borrows Mayama's shirts from time to time because it's more comfortable. Mayama also hates being left out of the activities that the group holds, even going to the furthest extent to join them.  Mayama also used to help Rika out with various errands while Rika was disabled due to the accident that left her husband dead. It is during that time that Mayama develops feelings for Rika. It is unknown whether Rika fully reciprocates the feelings that Mayama has for her, but various flashbacks imply that Mayama and Rika have 'fooled around', or Mayama took advantage of Rika's disability to fulfill his desires, although this is cleared up later as not being the case. Rika suggested that Mayama find another job so that she wouldn't have to continue hurting him, as she realizes how much he cares for her, and is unable (and perhaps unwilling at that point) to allow him to enter into her life.  Mayama eventually landed a job at Fujiwara Design. He has to deal with coworkers that are also very interested in his love life, and make comments whenever they can. Mayama also has to keep watch of his boss, Nomiya, whom he considers to be a playboy, when Nomiya begins to take an interest in Yamada.  Mayama doesn't return the feelings that Yamada has for him, but he sees Yamada as his close friend. Yamada's innocence is one thing that Mayama has to constantly guard from Nomiya, who has developed an interest with her.  When Fujiwara Design later broke up, people had to either stay in the Tokyo branch or transfer to the Tottori branch. Nomiya arranged for Mayama to be transfer to the Tottori branch, but as soon as this was announced Mayama quit. He now works again with Rika at her company, Harada Design, after forcing himself into the position in his own way.  Mayama's character design is based upon Suga Shikao.

Inuyasha's older half-brother. Unlike Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru is a full-blooded dog-demon and is contemptuous of InuYasha for being a half-demon and for consorting with humans. He is a very powerful demon who seems to have no true equal when it comes to raw power; although given the chance in volume twenty-three, he could not defeat Naraku. Although fandom refers to him as the Lord of the Western Lands, this title appears at no point in the manga. Takahashi also stated that Sesshoumaru has no permanent home. Unlike almost every other demon in the world of InuYasha, he has no interest in possessing even one shard of the Shikon Jewel  Sesshoumaru first appears in search of the sword called Tessaiga, created from their father Inu-no-Taisho's fang, which has the power to kill a hundred yōkai with one swing. However, Inu-no-Taisho left Tessaiga to Inuyasha, and Sesshoumaru instead inherited the Tenseiga, a sword which cannot harm the living, but can bring the dead back to life. Inu-no-Taisho did this in the hopes that Sesshoumaru would learn compassion. Considering Tenseiga useless to him, Sesshoumaru battles Inuyasha several times for possession of Tessaiga, and when Tessaiga is broken by a bite from Naraku's incarnation Goshinki, Sesshoumaru has Goshinki's fangs forged into the evil blade Tokijin, which only he is powerful enough to control. Initially, Sesshoumaru is ruthless and cruel in his pursuit of Tessaiga and his dealings with his brother.

A yokai-flea who is InuYasha&#039;s source of information. He usually runs away from dangerous situations. He was initially charged with protecting the remains/gravesite of InuYasha&#039;s father which held the Tessaiga. The Grave was hidden inside the black pearl in InuYasha&#039;s right eye and was opened during his first run-in with his elder brother, Sesshoumaru. Myoga also enjoys drinking yokai blood, and actually saves InuYasha&#039;s life at one point by drinking the poison out of his blood. Because of that, he often gets slapped by InuYasha (and sometimes by Kagome too), but never dies from it since he&#039;s immortal.

The main antagonist, Naraku (literally means &quot;underworld&quot;, or &quot;hell&quot;) is responsible for nearly every character&rsquo;s suffering throughout the series. He is a han&#039;yō that originated from a bandit named Onigumo (&quot;Demon Spider&quot;). Naraku&#039;s main goal is to collect all of the shards of the Shikon no Tama in order to become a full Youkai.His platonic love for Kikyo is what drove him to kill Kikyo and seal Inuyasha on the tree and basic reason to became a demon.

The protagonist of the story and a master of disguise, Zorori is a fox on a never-ending quest to become the King of Pranks to make his deceased mother proud. A self-proclaimed Prankster Genius, he helps others only if it serves to benefit him, but is actually kind at heart and will usually end up solving others' problems without any personal gain. He normally wears a sandogasa and a striped cape reminiscent of an Edo period gambler, but at crucial moments he changes into a Zorro-esque costume with the letters ZZ on the chest. He is very dexterous and can build almost any machine to suit his needs. His favorite food is anpan.

A citizen of the space colony Shangri-La, Beecha Oleg originally worked alongside Judau Ashta as a junk dealer. As the show continues, Beecha grows out of his childish ways.

Abe is the teams catcher, and also one of their better batters. His skills as a catcher were developed during middle school, when he played in the Seniors league. Abe was paired with a talented pitcher named Haruna, whose pitches were so hard and lacking in control that he was constantly covered in bruises. However, he persevered, knowing that if he could catch Haruna&#039;s pitches, he would gain a place as a regular. Although he succeeded, Abe soon began to resent Haruna, who strictly refused to throw more than 80 pitches per game, even if it meant walking off the field, and never followed Abe&#039;s signs. Because of this, Abe initially values Mihashi for his obedience, desire to stay on the mound, and control. However, he comes to appreciate just how much work Mihashi puts in, and is determined to win games using Mihashi&#039;s pitching and prove to him that he is a good pitcher.

Abe has a very short temper, particularly with Mihashi, and is noted to have a loud voice, even when laughing, which intimidates not only Mihashi but sometimes his other teammates too. However, when this is pointed out to him, he takes great pains to be more patient with Mihashi and speak more gently. He was charged by Momoe to look after Mihashi, and he takes this very seriously, constantly monitoring Mihashi&#039;s practicing, what he is eating, and how much sleep he&#039;s getting, causing Izumi to note that he&#039;s very bossy. Abe is also a driving force on the field, generally shouting out instructions to his teammates during play, and closely analyzing the opposition. He uses this habit to his advantage as he is very good at predicting which of Mihashi&#039;s pitches will cause a batter to strike out.

George (real name Johji) is an eccentric, handsome, and extremely charismatic student of Yazagaku who has extraordinary talent with a gift for fashion design, haute couture in particular. Despite his cold demeanor, he has extravagant ideas on everything, most of which are not accepted by the general public. He wants Yukari to become an independent woman, as well as a girl that will take responsibility for her own mistakes. 

His appearance is loosely based on Brian Slade of Velvet Goldmine, and several references to the film are made by him in the manga. He has distinctive blue hair and eyes, making Yukari humorously question if he is an alien. The lifestyle that he lives is top-notch; he lives in a loft apartment and drives a vintage Jaguar, but because his mother was merely a mistress, he rarely sees his father. Regardless, his mother dryly complains that he looks and acts just like him.

Tatewaki Kuno is an upperclassman at Furinkan High and was the big man on campus &ndash; at least until Ranma came along. Hailing from a very wealthy family, he is also captain of the kendo club and wields both his fortune and sword with equal ease. Given to spouting off Shakespearesque poetry (he quotes Confucius in the Japanese original), he is madly in love with Akane. He also falls for Ranma&rsquo;s female half and never realizes that she is really his mortal enemy in girl form. He once overhears her called by name, and attempts to write it down for future reference, but never makes a connection and continues to refer to her as a &quot;goddess in pig-tails&quot; for the entire series. Soun is the head of the Tendo household and one of the two families to practice Anything Goes Martial Arts. He&#039;s a widower, left to single-handedly take care of his three daughters. He has a large house that is occasionally in need of repairs due to the fights that take place there. While he owns his own dojo, students have not been explicitly shown. Community representatives frequently approach him when they have problems with unusual phenomena, so this may provide some of it, and he has rented out the dojo for social meetings. However he is shown to be quite careful with the expenses and gets upset when Nabiki spends his savings on expensive gifts, or when Ranma throws the dinner on the floor. In the anime, he spends most of his time playing Shogi with his old training partner Genma. Soun is eager for his daughter to say she loves Ranma, or the other way around, to continue the legacy of his school. He&#039;ll start announcing wedding plans if Ranma and Akane seem romantically involved. Soun is able to manifest himself as a ghostly, floating oni head, whenever he is upset, and often cries &quot;Oh, the humanity!&quot; in the anime. He generally assumes most incidents are Ranma&#039;s fault. He&#039;s shown as extremely protective of his children, and becomes sad if their affection is in doubt. He started as a low-ranking army officer and is the sole remaining retainer in the Hong household. Seiran was taken in thirteen years ago by Shoka Hong, and he has made a vow to spend his life repaying that kindness, helping the Hongs by protecting them, performing repairs, and taking small guard jobs to earn money. He is a very skilled fighter and swordsman, and despite his amiable disposition, he could be quite ruthless to those who put his loved ones in danger and conforms to the idealism of &quot;the end justifies the means&quot;. He often puts others&#039; well-being before his own and preferring to support others by watching and helping from the shadows. He has known Shurei ever since the latter was little, thus is very protective of her, usually following her in order to guard her, even when she does not know it. The two are often mistaken for a couple due to the amount of time they spend together, but neither of them show romantic feelings for the other.    Seiran is later revealed to be the previously exiled second elder brother of Ryuki, Seien, whom was the only one to ever treat Ryuki nicely. He was known as the &quot;flower&quot; of the royal princes due to his handsome looks, kind heart, and also his physical and intellectual superiority over his brothers. Because of this, his brothers grew jealous, and after his mother, who hated his existence, and grandfather conspired to make him Emperor, he, along with his mother, was exiled. The other royal families sent assassins to kill him, and though he did away with them, his mother was killed in the process. Sometime later, he is brought into the Satsujinzoku, a murderous band of thieves in Sa Province (Brown Province) where he was nicknamed &quot;The Little Whirlwind&quot;. Ensei Ro joined the group as well, and the two destroyed the band themselves. After leaving Sa, the Hong Family comes across him and takes him in, with Shokun giving him the name &#039;Seiran&#039;, meaning &#039;Silent Orchid&#039;, as well as him receiving the surname, &#039;Shi&#039; (pronounced the same as the Emperor&#039;s family name, but has different kanji). He decided to wholly devote himself into being &#039;Seiran&#039;, and does not let anyone get near his past, though some characters throughout the series discovers his true identity. Kuwabara, as most people call him, is the second-toughest kid in Sarayashiki Junior High School and is always trying to usurp Yusuke Urameshi&#039;s position as the toughest. In the manga(chp.1) he says he never lost a fight until he met Yusuke.He leads a gang consisting of himself, Kirishima, Okubo, and Sawamura (In the English dub, Komada). He has a soft spot for kittens (including his own, Eikichi) and an iron code of honor. He develops a minor crush on Botan when he first meets her, but later harbors intense feelings on the ice apparition Yukina, but is unaware that she is Hiei&#039;s sister.    Kuwabara has a tough older sister named Shizuru Kuwabara. She and Yukina are the only characters known to call him by his given name. In the anime, Kazuma and Shizuru&#039;s parents never appear and are rarely, if ever, even acknowledged. His father does makes a brief appearance in the final volume of the manga to reveal that Yukina is going to be living with them and appears to be aware of the Reikai, etc. As the show progress, Kuwabara&#039;s and Yusuke&#039;s relationship evolves from rivals to best friends, although the two still disagree constantly. Kuwabara and Kurama are quite cordial with each other, but Kuwabara shares no love for Hiei, and both will readily mention their hatred of the other, although in truth deep down they are friends.    Kuwabara&#039;s most unusual ability is his sensitivity to Reiki, or Spirit Awareness. He and his band of friends call this &quot;the Tickle.&quot; Kuwabara has the ability to sense when ghosts and the paranormal are around, can see spirits and other demons, and can predict motives of others. Kuwabara can also create a blade out of his own spirit energy (known as the Rei Ken, or Spirit Sword). Although he first needed a piece of wood as a physical entity to create it, Kuwabara was able to practice and be able to create his own after one month (six months in the English anime). During his training, Kuwabara&#039;s sword is able to extend and shrink to his whim, and he can even create two, one in each hand.    Kuwabara is not as strong as the rest of his teammates, but can be quite crafty in battle when he needs to be, and he is widely considered as the nicest of the four.

Shuutaro Mendo is heir to the Mendou Zaibatsu with staggering wealth and its own private army. He commutes to school in a gigantic helicopter that is more like a flying mansion. Shuutaro carries a samurai sword which he often tries to use on Ataru (who has become expert at blocking it with his bare hands). Although very handsome he is just as stupid and lecherous as Ataru (just much more sophisticated in his approach). He takes his role as heir to the vast Mendou fortune extremely seriously. Mendou is vain, narcissistic, charming, overly dramatic, claustrophobic and afraid of the dark. He loves Lum, tolerating the presence of Ataru in order to be close to her. Kogoro is a private investigator, but he prefers to laze around his office all day unless his client is a beautiful woman. Kogoro attended Teitan High School, the same high school as his daughter [Ran Mouri](https://anilist.co/character/1748/Ran-Mouri) and [Shinichi Kudo](https://anilist.co/character/1742/Conan-Edogawa) , along with [Eri Kisaki](https://anilist.co/character/1744/Eri-Kisaki) _(his future wife)_, [Yukiko Fujimine](https://anilist.co/character/20372/Yukiko-Kudo), and through kindergarten to middle school attended the same schools as the actress Ruri Ujo and Eri. He then graduated from Beika University, where he was the ace of the judo team, though he was highly vulnerable to stage fright.

Some time after graduating, Kogoro became a police officer, working in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Division One with [Inspector Megure](https://anilist.co/character/4253/Juzo-Megure), but while an excellent marksman he was not a particularly good investigator. According to [Ninzaburo Shiratori](https://anilist.co/character/9180/Ninzaburo-Shiratori) in [Movie 2](https://anilist.co/anime/780/Meitantei-Conan-Juuyonbanme-no-Target/), however, the duo were famous for the way they apprehended criminals. He also worked for some time under Inspector Yuminaga in the arson division. While Movie 2 strongly suggests that Kogoro left the police force because of the incident where he gave his wife, Eri Kisaki, a bullet graze on the leg to save her from a hostage situation, his reasons for leaving the force have not been confirmed in the manga. Around the time Kogoro left the police force, Eri also moved out, though they have never officially divorced despite ten years having passed. Their daughter, Ran, keeps trying to get them back together, but she has yet to succeed. Despite constantly feigning disinterest in her, Kogoro still has feelings for Eri. He even asked her to move back in with him at one point, but at the time she pretended not to hear him because she was not "ready" yet, though she still has feelings for him as well. These are expressed mainly through jealousy when Kogoro's attention is caught by other attractive women in the vicinity, which occurs on a regular basis. 

After Shinichi was forced to adopt the identity of Conan Edogawa, [Hiroshi Agasa](https://anilist.co/character/4162/Hiroshi-Agasa) concluded that Shinichi couldn't openly continue investigating the Black Organization without attracting undue attention. To maintain his cover, Agasa suggested Shinichi to move in with Kogoro and use him as a front. During a case Kogoro took soon after, he reached the wrong conclusion, and Conan knocked him out with an ashtray before he could accuse an innocent person. Kogoro conveniently falls unconscious in a reclining pose, and Conan uses his Voice Changer to imitate Kogoro's voice, presenting his conclusions and the identity of the true murderer. After a few more cases occur in this fashion _(though Conan uses his Stun-Gun Wristwatch instead of an ashtray)_, Kogoro receives the title "Sleeping Kogoro" and a public reputation as a master detective. In the few instances where Kogoro remains awake for some reason, Conan still does the main detective work and uses Kogoro as his official mouth-piece by drawing Kogoro's attentions to important clues he has uncovered.

Volcott will occasionally worry about how a given situation with them might jeopardize his retirement benefits. According to one episode in the first season, when he is flustered or panicked, he starts vacuuming things.
