Of the three original upperclassmen, Tanaka's personality is more neutral than the others. He is generally not as eager to rant as Madarame, but is more comfortable with himself than Kugayama. A hardcore cosplayer and costume designer, Tanaka is able to bring what should be impractical or even impossible costumes to life.

Tohma is very protective of Eiri Yuki, and blames himself for the trauma Eiri suffered as a teenager, seeing that he was the one who hired Yuki Kitazawa in the first place. He is unfailably polite to the point where he will refer to anybody (including his wife) as -san, and appears to be a friendly and even-tempered person.    

 As the series goes on, it becomes evident that much of this is a carefully constructed mask: when Eiri is involved, Tohma has been known to be far from rational and soft-spoken.

The white, adorable, wiggley dog of the Miyazawa family.  This character plays a secretly very large role in this series, and shows up in (almost) every scene at Yukino&#039;s house. He is often seen eating, sleeping, or sitting on the heads of his owners.

Takeshi appeared primarily as an opponent to Satoshi in his debut episode; unlike later Gym Leaders, he requested to join Satoshi on his journey, aiming to be the world's greatest Pokémon Breeder.

Takeshi mainly provides an advisory role to the other main characters of the anime, being several years older than the rest of them. His knowledge of Pokémon battles is great, causing him to often referee matches between Satoshi and others. Takeshi also fancies himself as something of a ladies' man, though each time he hits on someone he is either rejected outright; pulled away by Kasumi or Masato; or, more recently, Poison Jabbed by his Gureggru.

Anime  Tucker's only anime appearance was in the episode Tactics Theatrics!!.   In the anime, he is a big superstar. He likes to entertain others, and he has many fans. Automatically before the battle, he allows challengers to send in their Pokémon from other locations. Even if Ash was allowed to do this, he still used two Pokémon from his current party, Corphish and Swellow.   He used an Arcanine and Swampert in a double battle against Ash Ketchum. The battle took place in the Battle Dome in front of a large audience. Tucker was defeated by Ash although he held a strong start for a while with his Pokémon's teamwork and strategy.   Manga  At the beginning of the Battle Frontier saga, Tucker was assaulted by Emerald while riding to the Battle Frontier Opening Ceremony on his Salamence. Tucker was promptly tied up and thrown backstage during the opening ceremony, where he is found by the other Brains. They let him go and he starts yelling at Emerald, on stage. Scott tells him to be quiet, and Tucker grows a flaming grudge against Emerald. Tucker bears witness to Emerald's victory over Noland, and immediately makes the boy come to his facility. However, the Battle Dome is actually Emerald's fifth challenge. Anime: Scott first appeared in The Scheme Team. After observing Ash&#039;s battle against Agatha, Scott recommended that Ash go to the Battle Frontier. He next appeared in Numero Uno Articuno to observe Ash&#039;s battle against Noland. After that, Scott appeared at every battle facility to observe Ash&#039;s battle against the resident Frontier Brain. He hasn&#039;t been seen since Ash defeated Brandon.    In Gathering the Gang of Four!, it was revealed that Scott is the owner of the Battle Frontier. According to him, he created the Battle Facilities to expand the art of Pok&eacute;mon battle.    In Pace - The Final Frontier!, Scott asked Ash to be a Frontier Brain after he defeated Pyramid King Brandon, the last Frontier Brain. Ash declined.    Due to the fact that he wears sunglasses often, his eyes are almost never seen.    Scott is also known for reckless driving. He drives rather fast, regardless of what kind of terrain he is on.    Manga: In correspondence with Pok&eacute;mon Emerald version, Scott appears as the founder of the Battle Frontier in the Emerald chapter of Pok&eacute;mon Adventures. He also makes a cameo in the Ruby and Sapphire chapter during the fight between Groudon and Kyogre.

Kevin is a mercenary who works out of Emporium.  He&rsquo;s a bit gruff, but not a bad guy. Every so often he&rsquo;ll bad guy.  Every so often he&rsquo;ll show up to give Honoka a key piece of information, or to pass on the latest rumors among the mercenary crowd &ndash; after teasing her a bit, of course.  Though he tends to butt heads with Honoka, it&rsquo;s all in good fun.

A chameleon-like ant, Meleoron is an eccentric among chimera ants, as he dislikes fighting or killing. Even though Meleoron has the rank of a squadron leader, he himself admits his actual fighting strength is only on par with a common soldier ant. Meleoron dresses in a hooded sweatshirt with sweatpants, and is often seen smoking. His original name, before the chimera ant queen died, was Jail.

Monta Yuras, nicknamed "Mon," is a large man with a koala-like face who surveys the country of Kakin for new species with Kite. He seems to be in charge with the luggage. Kite has stated that he and his fellow amateur Hunters in the Kakin Exploration Team have excellent potential to be pro-hunters.

Shiba is a member of the Kanto Elite Four. He raises Fighting-type Pokémon, living with them and training with them. He joined the Elite Four out of a desire to challenge the best Trainers. Although he trains Fighting Pokémon, he also commonly uses Iwark and its evolved form. 

Shiba regularly visits the Sevii Islands. He and his Pokémon use the spa on One Island, and he visits Two Island to buy RageCandyBars. Shiba once used to train with Touki, a Fighting-type Gym Leader from Hoenn.

Gureggru is a dark blue, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a poison dart frog. It has yellow eyes, which are surrounded by black markings. There are orange, expandable pouches on its cheeks, and its teeth are wide and flat. A black marking encircles its upper arms and chest, and there are white bands around its chest. The white markings are slightly higher up on the female Gureggru than the male. It has three fingers and toes, most of which are black. The only digits that are not black are its center fingers, which are orange instead.

Hikozaru is a bipedal Pokémon resembling a chimpanzee. Its fur is primarily a shade of orange, though its face, outer ears, underbelly, hands, and feet are light yellow. Its rear has a small, round, red patch that is usually obscured by flames produced by burning gas in its stomach. These flames go out when it goes to sleep, and burn weakly when it feels ill. Its ears are large in comparison to its head size and red inside. It has two pointed teeth in its upper jaw. Hikozaru has red markings nearly surrounding its eyes, a swirl-like symbol on its chest, and five fingers on its hands with three toes on its feet. It has a swirly crest of hair on its head. Being very agile, it is able to climb the rocky ledges of tall mountains, where it lives.

Maggyo is a flat, fish-like Pokémon with a broad, mud-brown body. At the base of its yellow tail is a yellow marking shaped like an exclamation mark when seen from behind. It has small, horizontal, oval-shaped eyes, white with a tiny black pupil and no irises. Almost exactly between these two eyes lies the two thick gray lips that form its mouth. It has two small, flimsy fins at the sides of its body; each with two lobes. It has been seen to leap into the air and flap its fins as if they're wings to remain airborne.

Maggyo's very tough skin keeps them unharmed if stepped on, even by sumo wrestlers. To exploit this, it buries itself in mud of the seashore and waits for prey to pass by. Whenever unsuspecting prey touch a Maggyo's body, it is zapped. Maggyo smiles when electrocuting its foes. If it cannot paralyze its foe, it contorts itself with unexpected speed and flops away.

Galarian Maggyo is grayish-brown, with three green markings similar to footprints on its body. It cannot generate electricity, but the high iron content of the mud it lives in has strengthened its fins, which have been adapted into an apparatus akin to a bear trap. Galarian Maggyo leaves its red and white mouth, which look similar to a Pokéball, visible to lure in prey, and then slams its fins shut on them so they cannot escape.

Hinoarashi is a small, bipedal Pokémon with bluish fur on top of its body and cream-colored fur on its underside. Its eyes are usually seen closed, and it has a long, thin snout. Its arms are short, but its legs are slightly more developed and have a single nail on each foot. On its back are four red circles that can erupt into flames. When the flames are burning, its back seems to be covered in spines. Hinoarashi is capable of defending itself using these flames, and the fire grows more powerful as it becomes angry or defensive. However, if it is tired, the flames are not able to burn properly. It is usually timid by nature and often curls into a ball when intimidated. Though rare in the wild, it can be found living on grasslands.

Usokkie has a brown, log-shaped body with yellow spots. It has short legs with toeless feet and thin forelegs with three green spheres at the ends. It has a forked "branch" on top of its head, which is shorter on the female than on the male. Despite its appearance, Usokkie's composition is closer to a rock than a plant.

Usokkie disguises itself as a tree and stands along paths to avoid being attacked. Its camouflage fails in the winter, as its forelegs remain green, unlike real trees. Usokkie is very weak to water and hates it, so whenever it starts to rain, it will break their disguise and flee to the nearest source of shelter. Because it holds its position for so long, its arms have become supple yet strong. It is popular with the elderly, with available magazines and fans devoted to its arm angle and length. Usokkie can be found living in forests.

Habunake is a serpentine Pokémon that is usually depicted scrunched up like an accordion. It is mostly black in color but has several markings on its body. It has yellow hexagon markings that run from its head to its tail, small yellow bumps where it touches the ground, and various purple scar-like marks. It has elongated red fangs that protrude from its upper jaw and fierce red eyes. Its tail is partially red and has a blade-like shape. Habunake sharpens its tail on rocks and can use it for its former signature move, Poison Tail.

Habunake wraps around its opponents to make them unable to move. Its tail and fangs are venomous and are used for striking and poisoning prey or enemies. It has been bitter enemies with Zangoose for many generations. It lives in grasslands and savannas.

Strike is a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon. It is primarily green with thin, cream-colored sections between its head, thorax, and abdomen. The abdomen of a female will be slightly larger than that of a male. It has narrow eyes and three points on the back of its somewhat reptilian head. Its forearms consist of large, white scythes, which it uses for hunting as well as fighting. On its thighs are spikes of fur, and it has three clawed toes on its large feet. Two pairs of cream-colored wings extend from its back. While these wings do allow Strike to fly, it rarely does so.

Strike is an adept hunter that tears at its prey with its scythes. Its green coloration gives in excellent camouflage in the grass, and its quick movement is too fast to follow and increases the effectiveness of its scythes. By cutting through hard objects, it keeps its arms sharp. The anime has shown that wild Strike form swarms. A new leader is elected when the current leader is defeated in a fight against a challenger; the former leader then leaves the swarm and goes into exile as a result. It has also been shown that Strike becomes aggressive when faced with the color red.
