The narrator and main character of the story.  As she reaches the fateful day in which she was cursed to eternal sleep she begins to unravel the mystery of the man behind the curse and his relationship to her mother.  She is never given an actual name in the story but is eventually referred to as the Briar Rose or The Sleeping Beauty by her many princely courtiers.

Moomintroll (Mumintrollet) - a spirited troll teen with a keen sense of adventure and fun and a generous spirit. Moomin lives life fully, and views the world with a feeling of wonderment for such simple pleasures as collecting stones and shells. As gullible as he is enthusiastic, he is also naive and extremely good-natured.    He is Snufkin&#039;s best friend, and often feels sad when Snufkin leaves the Moomin Valley during the winter. Hehas a crush on the Snork Maiden and although the two sometimes are called, or call themselves a couple, he expresses his emotions to her discreetly, and their crush seems to be kind of a secret.

In "Swallowing the Earth" she was the archetypal realistic, glamorous, Tezuka Osamu beauty who had an incorrigible hatred for men. As might be expected of a character that debuted in the role of an almost implausibly beautiful woman, her ravishing looks made her Tezuka Osamu's most illustrious beauty. As a beautiful woman, it was only natural that she appeared as the "Spirit of the West Wind" in "UNICO", and her beauty filled the entire screen.
