He is generally shown as to be calm and open minded. In fact, many comparatives can be made between his personality and Yin and Yang, which he appropriately wears the symbol of, the Taijitu. The forces of Yin and Yang are generally described as opposite but complementary forces, and the same can be said about him. He can be calm and collected, but also a fierce competitor. These two qualities can be referred to as opposites, but they are not absolute in their differences, and the same can be said about Yin and Yang. Furthermore, the forces of Yin and Yang are interdependent, meaning that they cannot exist without their counterpart. This can also be compared to Ray's personality. His whole nature seems to be similar in principal to this metaphysical concept.  (Season One) Ray is first introduced to the show in episode 6, named Dragoon Storm. In this episode, he is portrayed as a powerful and confident competitor. However, some may say that he is shown as overconfident in some aspects, especially before the battle against Tyson had even begun. In the first battle, Ray easily, and almost effortlessly destroys Tyson's blade using his bit beast Driger's Tiger Claw attack. The following battle, Ray becomes somewhat cocky about his ability, and ends up losing the 2nd round to Tyson. Ray forfeits the final, deciding battle, saying that he had no more to prove. After the final round of the Tournament, between Tyson and Kai, Ray approaches Tyson, along with Max and Mr. Dickenson, inviting him and Kai to join the new BBA team called the Blade Breakers.  Throughout the first season, Ray is looked to for advice about battles. He is generally revered as a kind hearted, polite individual, who is very welcoming when meeting new people. He is also shown as being very open minded, especially about Beyblading techniques. This is emphasised in the Asian tournament, used as a means to justify his leaving of his home village. It is also shown in this season that he has an uncle who is the head chef at a restaurant in Paris, which is owned by Olivers' Dad. It is also shown that he works as a waiter in a restaurant in Hong Kong for extra cash. This has led to an opinion of him loving to cook.  (Season Two) Generally, Ray is shown in a similar light as to how he is portrayed in season 1, although in V-Force, he is much more critical of his performance.  A good example of Ray's kind hearted nature is shown in V-Force, in the battle against Salima and Cyber Driger. During this battle, Salima becomes somewhat hypocritical towards her original philosophies towards beyblading. Because of this, Ray spends most of the battle trying to convince her that using Cyber Driger has tainted her beliefs.  Ray uses three beyblades in the second season--Driger Fang, Driger Vulcan, and Driger Vulcan 2.  (Season Three) In this series, Ray is portrayed in a very different way from the other two series. In the previous two, he was shown as being a polite young man, but unconfident in his beyblading ability. In G-Revolution however, he is shown as being confident, almost to the point of being cocky. It is this that causes him to lose some of his matches. During this series, he leaves the Bladebreakers to help form the White Tigers X team, partnering up with his former teammate, Lee. Zack Fair is a talented yet stubborn young man, always bringing a positive energy and charisma with him wherever he goes. He is a very enthusiastic young man who will take any mission head on without fear to prove his worth to the Shinra company. He is also very popular among the women in Midgar, even to the point of having his own fan club.  Zack left his home town of Gongaga at the age of fourteen to join the Shinra Electric Power Company's military forces. He was promoted to SOLDIER 2nd Class sometime in the next two years.

~!Unlike some SOLDIER members he has a 1st Class mentor, Angeal. During the war against Wutai, Angeal vanished and later returned as Zack's enemy. Zack was eventually promoted to 1st Class at the age of only eighteen. He was the first and only SOLDIER to make 1st class without the aid of Jenova Cells, this feat speaking a lot of his natural talent.  However, soon after this promotion, Zack was forced to kill his mentor and close friend Angeal after the latter turned into a monster.  Angeal hands the Buster sword to Zack in his dying moments and encourages him to carry on both their Dreams and Honour. Zack's signature X-shaped scar on his cheek was given to him by Angeal in their battle.  Sometime during his SOLDIER 2nd class days, Zack meets a girl named Aerith and they fall in love. Although Duty and Antagonists get in the way of their relationship, Zack and Aerith often kept in contact through phone. Even after Zack went missing for four years in Nibelheim, Aerith continued to write him letters. She sent a total of 89 letters within that time before she had finally given up. The ribbon that Aerith is always seen wearing in her hair was gifted by Zack during a date.!~

~!Unfortunately, Zack dies at the age of 23 while protecting Cloud Strife from the Shinra Corporation on their way back to Midgar. Zack's final stand was against the entirety of Shinra's infantrymen. He defeats all but three men before finally exhausting his Stamina after pushing far beyond his limits. He is shot through the body and face with an unimaginable amount of bullets. In his final moments, he hands down the famous Buster Sword to Cloud, just as Angeal had done with him. He encourages Cloud to be his "Living Legacy" and to live for the both of them, to carry his dreams and honour on for him. Parting the world with a smile, his final words were "say hi to Aerith for me", and "hey, would you say I became a hero?".!~

Initially Gantz refers to Kurono as "Bitch" and "Loser", though he settles on "Kurono" as the series progresses.

Training with Genma at Jusenkyou in China, Ranma was thrown into a spring called Nyanniichuan. He emerged as a young girl, according with the spring's curse. When splashed with hot water, he changes back to a boy, but when splashed with cold to room temperature water, he turns into a girl again. As for our well-built 16-year-old hero/heroine, the martial arts is his life. He also possesses a rather large and easily wounded ego, believing his physical strength to be his only virtue. Whenever his pride is damaged, Ranma feels the need to rectify the situation, even when it's not necessarily in his best interest to do so.

Xellos tends to behave like a playful trickster, answering nearly all questions directed toward him with "Sore wa himitsu desu," literally "That is a secret." He seems to delight in the frustration that ensues with his withholding of information. For the majority of the second season, Xellos acts simply for comedy's sake frequently breaking the fourth wall and addressing the viewers; all the while subtly and even sinisterly advancing the plot. Generally, Xellos' mood can be determined by the state of his eyes. If they are closed, he is acting as the "Trickster Priest," but when he opens them he brings forth the Mazoku. However, on occasion he opens his eyes out of mere surprise (as in the fourth episode of NEXT, when Lina reveals her knowledge of the Pledge Stone).

Xellos' true intentions always seem to be a mystery. As a mazoku his main goal is to return the universe into the nothingness of the Sea of Chaos, but near the end of the series he aids Lina and the others in saving the world instead. Even though he tends to manipulate Lina and the others he has saved their lives on few occasions, such as saving Martina Zoana Mel Navratilova from bandits for no apparent reason, and saving Filia during their battle with Valgaav. The reasons for doing so are never given which leads Xellos to be one of the many enigmas of the series.

Xellos is extremely loyal to Zelas Metallium and usually acts only if ordered (although at times he has aided Lina's group without having been ordered by Zelas), and it is assumed that he would gladly follow any of her requests in order to keep her pleased, even if he is not pleased with them himself (an example of this is when he was ordered to offer to kill Lina Inverse if ValGaav joined the Mazoku side in TRY).

In the novels, the Slayers group generally abhors his presence, while in the anime he is treated as more of a tolerable nuisance.  In the anime, Xellos and Lina seem to have a sort of mutual respect for each other. He seems to enjoy the chaos that follows Lina, and follows her for the sake of fun even if he is not ordered to do so. In the novels Xellos seems to be more distant around her, looking somewhat troubled by the fact that Lina, unlike other humans he has dealt with, is able to see the bigger picture of things and is not tricked so easily.

Zelgadis holds a powerful hatred towards the Mazoku because in the 2nd episode of NEXT, he had destroyed a Claire Bible manuscript which, the chimera thought, might have contained the cure to his appearance. This naturally does not bother Xellos one bit, even though he is the only one who does not tease Zelgadis about his appearance.  When Amelia makes one of her heroic, "justice filled" speeches Xellos listens with amusement and mild curiosity, although they do tend to disturb him at times. When she makes endless comments about how beautiful and wondrous the world and life are Xellos becomes extremely weakened, and even cringes at her minor comments. So great is the effect of these speeches on Xellos that, when forced to fight him, the group has even used one of them as a weapon to render Xellos helpless.

Filia is the only being capable of annoying Xellos. Even though he tries to be polite to her, she continues to insult him and call him names like Raw Garbage (namagomi). Xellos likes to tease Filia by the fact that she is part of the dragon race, he makes comments like " Those of the Dragon Race would rather use violence than trying to compromise", or anything along those lines. Xellos seems to have a personal enjoyment of not only making fun of her, but he seems to like tricking her the most. Her hatred towards him comes from the fact that he killed many dragons during the Kõma Wars (War of the Monsters Fall) 1000 years ago. By the end of the series, they learn to tolerate each other and are capable of having at least one decent conversation.

Xellos is widely considered to be the most powerful Mazoku under the five lords. As such he is nearly immune to all Black Magic, only the spells that call upon Shabranigdo or the Lords can even faze him; however, he is vulnerable to spells that use the power of the Lord of Nightmares, though given his speed it is unlikely that he would allow someone to cast the spell against him.

Immensely powerful, Xellos is capable of annihilating nearly anything using his own power. This is best shown by his destruction of an entire clan of Golden Dragons. However, he tends to underestimate his opponents, leading to himself getting beaten severely by ValGaav.  Like all Mazoku, Xellos can teleport anywhere he can imagine by phasing to and from the Astral Side.

Morty (Matsuba in the Japanese version of Pokemon) is the Gym Leader of Ecruteak City&#039;s Gym, known officially as the Ecruteak Gym. He hands out the Fog Badge to Trainers who defeat him. He is a young man who uses Ghost-type Pokemon.    In the anime  Morty appears in three episodes  of the anime: A Ghost of a Chance, From Ghost to Ghost, and For Ho-Oh the Bells Toll!.    He teaches classes on training Ghost-types. He knows that most Ghosts lack physical power, and relies on disabling his opponent by confusing or frightening them.    Ash, Misty and Brock first meet Morty when they mistakenly went to the Burned Tower thinking it was the Gym. His Ghost Pokemon had created an illusion of fire to scare the trainers away, but Morty settled them and introduced himself as Gym Leader. He told them about the legend of Ho-Oh and the two towers of Ecruteak, but didn&#039;t believe that Ash had ever seen Ho-Oh. When Team Rocket kidnapped Pikachu and Togepi, he used his powerful Gengar to stop them.  Whitney&#039;s and Morty&#039;s appearance in Bagged Then Tagged!.    The next day, Ash and Morty had their Gym battle. Ash was able to defeat him by relying on his Noctowl&#039;s Foresight to weaken Morty&#039;s Ghost Pokemon and make them vulnerable to Normal attacks. After Morty was defeated, he said he believed that Ash may very well have seen Ho-Oh, given Ash&#039;s great spirit.    When Ash and company returned to Ecruteak on their way to Mahogany Town, it is revealed that he and Eusine have a close relationship because they both study rare legendary Pokemon.    He makes a small cameo along with Whitney in Bagged Then Tagged! when it was revealed that Lyra&#039;s next Gym challenge was supposed to be one of them.       In Pokemon Adventures  In Pokemon Adventures, he is a natural version of the Itemfinder, using his powers to locate lost objects and Pokemon. He has clairvoyant psychic abilities that allow him to see things at a distance. He was unfortunately away from Ecruteak when Team Rocket attacked it with the earthquake, but later assisted in its reconstruction. His dream is to one day be able to see Ho-Oh. The rainbow Pokemon&#039;s power is so great, it blocks Morty&#039;s abilities. Another Pokemon that he found unable to locate was Suicune, which he tried to search for on Eusine&#039;s behalf.    Morty first appeared after finding a Girafarig for a young woman and after hearing that Suicune had awoken from a radio, quickly went searching for it. He encountered a mist with both Gastly and Misdreavus, and was soon able to sense and find it. Morty had run Suicune into the town, where it seemingly acted paralyzed by Gastly&#039;s Thunderbolt, though it was able to trick Morty. As he had thrown the Great Ball, it turned out that Suicune used Mirror Coat to negate the attack and paralyze Misdreavus instead. Morty then contacted Eusine about having come into contact with Suicune and went off on the chase as well.

Anime: Todd first appeared in Pok&eacute;mon Paparazzi. He had recently become famous after he took a picture of a supposedly extinct Aerodactyl (coincidentally the same one that tried to eat Ash, who was also on the photo, albeit blurred). He was hailed for being able to &quot;capture any Pok&eacute;mon on film&quot;. After seeing the article in a magazine, Meowth misunderstood the wording, not seeing the &quot;on film&quot; part. Team Rocket disguised themselves and hired Todd to capture Pikachu.    Todd set out to capture the perfect picture of Pikachu, which irritated Ash - the two boys eventually settled their differences, however. Todd traveled with the group for a short time, but left at the end of The Breeding Center Secret before Ash, Misty, and Brock boarded the ship for Cinnabar Island.    Later, Todd showed up again in Moving Pictures up in the mountains of Johto, trying to capture a picture of the legendary bird, Articuno. After successfully photographing the Legendary Pok&eacute;mon in Freeze Frame, Todd went his own way once again.     Manga: In Pok&eacute;mon Adventures, Todd is a reporter and photographer on assignment at the Battle Frontier. There, he encountered the eccentric young Emerald - the strange young man ended up saving Todd from a wild Sudowoodo. He then followed the events in the Battle Frontier, aiding Emerald along with Latias and Latios during the crisis. At the end, Professor Oak asked him if he could work with him and if he could go to an island where there are lots of Pok&eacute;mon, and take pictures of them. 

Souichi Yakumo is second in command at TERRA, with the rank of Major. He often takes command when Kunugi is not present. Souichi is fond of Ayato and believes that regardless of whether or not Ayato is a Mulian, he is still himself and thus, should be looked at as an individual. Souichi is kind and friendly to everyone, and Megumi misinterprets this as a chance for a relationship. Soichi is oblivious to Megumi's feelings and starts seeing Kim. Despite being softspoken and friendly, Souichi is an able commanding officer.   In other versions In the movie, Souichi has the same position within TERRA but is shown to be more "in the know." Gaku is another one of Naota&#039;s classmates and close friends. In episode three, Marquis de Carabas, he plays the part of a mouse in the school play. Gaku also uses the word &quot;chu&quot; constantly, especially when referring to Haruko. This is a pun in Japanese, because &quot;chu&quot; is the Japanese onomatopoeia for both kissing and the sound a mouse makes. In the English version, &quot;chu&quot; is replaced with &quot;smooch&quot; to make more sense to English speaking audiences. He&#039;s somewhat hyper (compared to the bored composure of his friends) and is usually seen with Masashi. He is an encyclopedia of bizarre rumors and legends, many of which are sexual in nature

Masaru is one of the boys in Doremi's class. He is also Hazuki's childhood friend.

Ren is a new student at the high school Miaka and Yui attend. He is a freshman and the same age as them, and is extremely popular at school. He runs for school president against Yui, and becomes the leader of a group of students who threaten Miaka and Taka. Ren has the ability to control people's minds, detesting and taking advantage of weak people who allow him to manipulate them. He dislikes and is jealous of the miracle that allowed Miaka and Taka to be together. Ren is the first Shitennou for Tenkou, who aided him in acquiring his powers and allowing him to travel between the two worlds. Kenshin Himura, also known throughout the anime as Hitokiri Battousai (Battousai the Manslayer) or Himura the Battousai, is the main character of the series Rurouni Kenshin. His original name was Shinta (心太). 

His parents died of cholera when he was very young and as a result, was adopted by three slave women in a traveling slave wagon. Soon after meeting them, bandits had raided the convoy and killed his three new guardians and where about to kill him when Seijuro Hiko killed the bandits. Hiko soon adopted the child and because Shinta was not a name fitted for a swordman, he renamed him Kenshin, meaning "Heart of Sword," took him under his wing and taught him the Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu.   

~! However, before full completion of the sword style could be passed on to Kenshin, the Japanese Revolution had been happening at the time and right before Kenshin's eyes.  Because of his kind nature and seeing people suffering, he knew he needed to do something about it.  He left in the middle of his training and without his master's blessing and joined the Imperialists.  It was during the Revolution where Kenshin met Tomoe, his first love and wife. During the revolution, Kenshin was given the nickname of Hitokiri Battousai because of his god-like speed of drawing a sword to kill the enemy instantly. After helping the Imperialist to a position where they would undoubtedly win the revolution, Kenshin left the revolution all-together with a vow to never kill again and the reverse-blade sword handed to him by Shakku-dono. It was Tomoe's death by his hands that pushed him over the edge of never to kill again.!~

The next time we see Kenshin is 10 years later as he has become a wanderer who helps out anyone in need who is suffering right before his eyes. Those long 10 years have taken him from Kyoto, all over Japan to where we find him in episode one of the anime, in Tokyo, still keeping his vow never to kill again. It is here where he meets Kaoru Kamiya and his whole life begins to change once again.

Kenshin is usually depicted as a care-free swordsman who is very aloof and tends to be a bit simple-minded when it comes to living normally. He is seen to be doing many of the chores around the dojo that he stays at with Kaoru, (i.e., cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.). He believes it is his way of repaying Kaoru with allowing him to stay at her dojo. (although it seems he has gotten attracted to kaoru in the end). However, his swordsmanship ranks among the elite as he is seen defeating every rival (with the exception of Hajime Saitou which ended in a draw). His battle senses are top-notch and he recognizes even the slightest of advantages, strategies and tactics during a sword battle.

As its name implies, Cyandog is a blue Medarot that resembles a dog. It has a lightning bolt symbol on its forehead. The rifles on his arms allow fast shooting attacks. While not a particulary powerful Medarot, its high speed can be used to its advantage. Cyandog is Iwanoi's signature Medarot for the first half of the series. Iwanoi's Cyandog uses a Monkey Medal, which isn't compatible with its shooting parts. Cyandog, though, was loyal to Iwanoi, similar to a dog being loyal to its owner. Later its parts were replaced with the DOG-1 Bluesdog parts.
