Tsukasa is a Wavemaster and the main character. He is a young silver-haired boy clad in grey robes,  At the start of the series, he is seen waking up to find himself in a dungeon in The World, but he has no idea why he is there or who he is. Not much time passes until Tsukasa discovers he is trapped in the game, unable to log out, while his real body is in a coma. He is initially depicted as a cynical loner who tends to avoid others as much as possible, but at the story progresses he begins to warm up to Mimiru, Bear, Subaru, and others.   ~!In the real world, his name is An Shouji, and he happens to be a girl. She was raised by her father after the death of her mother, and was physically and mentally abused by him. His abusive behavior also distanced her from her gender: he treated her like a boy, refusing to allow her to use feminine products and basic hygiene products. There are also subtle hints that her father is an alcoholic. After awaking from her coma, Ryo Sakuma, the player behind Bear, becomes her legal guardian and allows her to go to a boarding school. Kaneda's best friend since preschool and the second principal subject of the story's theme. Tetsuo is shown as a black sheep in the gang he and Kaneda are part of, and quietly suffers from a deeply rooted inferiority complex. He admires his friend yet at the same time strongly resents his own reliance upon him. After his psychokinetic abilities manifest, Tetsuo quickly becomes Kaneda's nemesis; he desires Kaneda's motorcycle (a symbol of status and power), and seeks to prove himself supremely powerful, without need of protection. Rock, formerly known as Rokuro Okajima, is the protagonist of the series. He was a Japanese salaryman for Asahi Industries in Tokyo until he was taken hostage by the crew of the Black Lagoon. He joined the Lagoon Company after his department chief, Kageyama, abandoned him in an attempt to cover up the smuggling operation in which Rock had been an unwitting participant. Rock is a humble and mild-mannered person despite being on the business end of guns from friend and foe alike, and often seems surprised at the barbarity of the Southeast Asian crime world. He still wears his tie, short-sleeved dress shirt, and dress pants because although now a pirate, he still retains his business persona. He prefers to use words over weapons when interacting with others. Rock, after joining the Lagoon company, has wondered if he is experiencing Stockholm syndrome.  

Within the Lagoon Company, Rock is usually responsible for account management, diplomacy, negotiation, interpretation, and the occasional errand. Having once worked in the resource investigation department of Asahi Industries, Rock is also skilled in geology. He is also a skilled linguist, being effectively bilingual in Japanese (his native language) and English as well as being familiar with other languages, including Spanish, Romanian and Russian. He also has a surprisingly high tolerance for alcohol, owing to the heavy-drinking lifestyle of a ladder-climbing salaryman. Rock's earnest personality has earned him the interest of several figures in Roanapur, including Balalaika, Mr. Chang, Rowan "Jackpot" Pigeon, Yolanda, Eda (who develops a crush on him), and young Garcia Lovelace, whom he trusts to the greatest degree. In many ways, Rock is the heart of the Lagoon Company, serving as a balance for his more jaded teammates and as a bright spot in the world of darkness that is Roanapur. Dutch has stated that he believes Lagoon Company is complete with Rock not holding a gun, saying his bullets are the kind to ricochet back at them. 

Rock is one of the "luckiest" characters in the series as he managed to survive every single thing he experienced from being taken hostage to being shot at. Thus far, he has survived the wrath of Revy, Balalaika, Roberta, and Sawyer. He is personally appointed by Mr. Chang to help Garcia Lovelace, much to Lagoon Company's disapproval. Rock eventually begins to enjoy his life as a pirate and becomes even more comfortable with corruption. Later, in a conversation with Fabiola, he demonstrates a darker, sadistically ruthless side of his personality clearly influenced by Revy and the Roanapur environment. Benny even points out that there are things about him that scare almost everyone in Roanapur.  While Rock has a family in Tokyo, he does not seem to have much connection to them due to their somewhat apathetic attitude towards him. It was later revealed that he did not pass his college entrance exams on his first try, leading his family to lower their expectations of him. It is known that he has a father, a mother, and an older brother who was academically capable and thus attained a job in the Japanese government. He was born in the 49th year of the Showa period, according to the manga version, which corresponds to 1975-1976.

Extremely talented in sports (especially baseball), but has no interest in it whatsoever (similar to Initial D's Takumi Fujiwara). He also seems to have no interest in girls... until the day he met Aya Kurihara. However, after her return to France, he met during baseball practice his girlfriend Natsue Horikawa. While he tries to act cool, he is also known for childish outbursts, which are usually directed at Raikō. Throughout the show, he is criticized by other shinobi because his main weapon of choice is a Glock 7 handgun, to which he replies 'get with the times.' However, he does also use more conventional shinobi weapons, i.e. kunai, shurikens etc.  His past is unclear, but apparently he and his sister were living in poor conditions before they were adopted by the Kairoushou. Mad Saurus' second in command. Blue is a transgender mercenary of an evil crime boss. She likes to wear red clothing, contrary to her name. Like her boss, Blue is a ruthless outlaw, who does anything and everything she wants, stepping on others without any hesitation. Despite this, it is shown that the boss cares about Blue deeply. 

The main character of the series, he is one of the best (if not the best) fighters in the world.  He is wandering the world searching for the eight stars which he could see when he was young, before he lost his innocence by being too proud.  He&#039;s easygoing and loves to eat, but he doesn&#039;t like the weak to be bullied (lijaka).  

Prince Toma is the ruler of Togenkyo Island. Because the island is situated on top of a spring which makes it impossible for the island's inhabitants to give birth to a female, the only way for his people to find brides is to kidnap them from neighboring islands. He captures Ranma, Akane, Ukyo, Shampoo, Nabiki and Kasumi, as well as many other women. Once there they compete to be his bride in strange contests which are designed to amuse him. He ends up choosing Akane, despite Ranma's best efforts, because she reprimands him about his treatment of the girls.  Toma is a highly skilled swordsman and a master at creating illusions, but also proves to be near to Ranma in speed and basic combat techniques. He has a number of human-animal hybrids that act as his lieutenants.

A prince of the Emishi tribe, Ashitaka is cursed in combat with a demonic boar. His only hope for a cure is to return to the forested land from which the boar-god originally came and discover what rage infected it. Leaving his people behind forever, he makes that journey and discovers the gods of the forest at war with the humans in a iron-mining town. Ashitaka vows to help the two sides reach a compromise, to cure them of the very anger that now eats away at him. The key to compromise appears to lie with a mysterious human girl who lives amongst the gods.

He has half of the scroll and so he has to marry the girl with the other half. Apparently his group can only eat pickled vegetables and rice. He is almost always seen with a bowl of rice and chopsticks, and he blocks attacks with those chopsticks.

A veteran Inspector working with Akane. He coordinates all the Enforcers in Unit 1. An old friend of Shinya's, his hatred for those with high Crime Coefficients and his zeal to oust them from society came from the inability to stop his former partner from becoming a latent criminal. Although he still has a certain degree of trust with Shinya, he holds a dislike for Shinya's Enforcer partner, Masaoka, for unknown reasons. Ginoza constantly tells Akane to draw a line between herself and the Enforcers she works with.

A travelling romantic troubadour, Raphael is a friend of the Dandelion Troupe, and is the man that Sylvie is hopelessly in love with. However Raphael is the type of man to never stay in one place for very long, and Sylvie has a difficult time trying to confess to him. Raphael is very poetic and romantic and melancholy all at the same time. He sees everyone as having invisible wings that symbolize their heart, strength, and courage. He thinks Nadja has very beautiful wings. But as for him, he believes his wings are broken due to the loss of a great love in his life. One of the members of the Imperial Army. He belongs to the Purist faction in the military and stood by Jeremiah's side in scapegoating Suzaku Kururugi. After the first appearance of Zero and Jeremiah's incomprehensible actions that lead to the escape of the terrorists with Suzaku, he led the rest of the Purist officers in an unsuccessful attempt at killing Jeremiah. Luciano Bradley, also known as "Vampire of Britannia", is the Knight of Ten. A violent and confrontational man, he is fond of provoking others and attacking without provocation; several of the Knights of Rounds appear to dislike him. He shows little care for the lives he ends, be they friend or foe, as long as he can cause destruction. In fact, he fights battles specifically because it allows him to freely kill people in public. He claims to be a "homicide genius", and carries a number of large knives which he is adept at throwing. He is fiercely loyal to the Empire, but does as he pleases most of the time, even around members of the Imperial family. He pilots the Knightmare Frame Percival.  Luciano commands a unit of personal bodyguards known as the Grausam Valkyrie Squadron, a quartet of young women between the age of 15 and 25 who pilot two-tone pink Vincents. Two of their members are Liliana Vergamon and Marika Soresi, sister of Kewell Soresi. Prior to their appointment to the Valkyrie Squadron, they served under Princess Cornelia.  Luciano first appears shortly before the formation of the UFN; he throws a knife at Suzaku and then insults Euphemia. He later walks in on a conversation between Nunnally and Kallen, telling Kallen that she is to be used as a hostage, and threatens to harm her because her body is expendable so long as she is alive. Gino intervenes, and Luciano insults him by suggesting that his nobility is what allowed him to reach his position. During the second battle of Tokyo, Luciano destroys a number of the Black Knights' Knightmares and nearly kills Lelouch in tandem with the Grausam Valkyrie Squadron. All four Valkyrie pilots are subsequently killed by Kallen, followed by Luciano himself.

Bickslow, also spelled Bixlow, is a mage who belongs to the guild Fairy Tail. He, along with Freed Justine and Evergreen, make up the Thunder Legion. Like the other members of the Thunder Legion, he has great respect for Laxus Dreyar and has been shown to go against Fairy Tail on Laxus' command. Bickslow has a lighthearted personality and has the tendency to laugh out loud and stick out his tongue. The magic he uses allows him to control and see souls; he refers to the dolls that he controls as his "babies." His dolls tend to repeat the last word they spoke when they complete their sentences. 



Toby is one of Lyon Bastia's allies during the Galuna Island arc, he also a mage of the Lamia Scale Guild.  He uses poisonous claws called "Mega Jellyfish" in battle.

Menomaru is a demon from China who attempts to invade Japan. he is opposed by Inuyasha&#039;s father but returns two-hundred years later to battle once more with Inuyasha.     He doesn&#039;t appear in the manga or the anime but is the main foe in Inuyasha the Movie- Affections Touching Across Time.     Two-hundred years after Inuyasha&#039;s father defeated Menomaru&#039;s father Hyoga, he is revived by the power of the Shikon shard when the jewel shattered.
