Nishi is Joe's best friend, sparring partner and later he also becomes Joe's trainer. He is a juvenile delinquent. He first meets Joe in a juvenile jail, where they fight each other and Joe defeats him. Nishi later meets Joe at the correction house where they become friends.

Nishi's personality changes drastically from an arrogant juvenile delinquent to calm worker at a grocery store. He takes a liking to boxing after watching Joe's match against Rikishi in the detention center.

When Joe comes back to Namida Bridge he is surprised to find Nishi at the Tange boxing gym, Nishi joins the gym to learn boxing and to continue being with Joe. Nishi is an averagely good boxer. He was the only useful sparring partner Joe had in the entire story. Nishi has a crush on Noriko Hayashi, who is the daughter of his boss at the grocery store.

~!Nishi injures his fist in a match and painfully decides to retire from boxing. In his retirement party he confesses that he will always be proud of dedicating his youth to boxing. Later, Nishi marries Noriko and becomes more dedicated to his work at the convenience store but he also continues to help Joe with his training and works in the corner during his matches.!~

Conrad is the giant worm like member of the Godhand. His first appearence is in the eclipse along with the rest of the Godhand, and he is seen as having eyes that do not open, a mouth that doesn't close and hands that are stuck together.

Butler to Dr. Wattsman, the bad guy. He helps run Dr. Wattsmans evil factory.

Mr. Popo is an immortal djinn who lives with Kami in Kami's Lookout and is bound there eternally as the gardener and caretaker. He has served every other Kami (God/Guardian) of the Earth since the beginning of time. He was trained by the recent Kami himself and trained Goku for 3 years in order to fight Piccolo.

The third pilot, he is an extremely hot-blooded young man and controls the Getter machine &quot;Bear&quot; and Getter-3. Musashi is short and fat, but also physically very strong as the leader of his prefecture&#039;s Judo team who has yet to be defeated in a match. Though he fails the physical and mental tests required to pilot Getter Robo, he makes up for it with hot-blooded spirit and stubbornness, becoming a valued member of the team. Musashi&#039;s goofy and clumsy personality forms much of the comic relief in the original series.    His portrayal in the 1970s series is fairly close to the original manga, unlike many of the other characters.

A member of Oozora with a scary face, but a faint heart. He scares Kousaku awake in the mornings.

Muri (ムーリ, Mūri) is the elder of a Namekian village that is the home of Dende. While being interrogated by Freeza&#039;s group, he manages to destroy all of Freeza&#039;s scouters, which causes Freeza&#039;s collection of the Dragon Balls to be delayed. He is killed soon afterwards. After being revived by Dragon Balls, he is named the new grand elder, giving him the ability to return the Dragon Balls to life. After traveling to the New Namek, he powers up the Dragon Balls, giving Porunga the ability to bring multiple people back to life with one wish.
