An innocent-looking but extremely powerful teenage girl who directly controls 12 Shikigami, which are named after the Japanese names of the Heavenly Generals (Jyuni Shinshou), legendary Hindu figures who became Buddhists: (Indara, Ajira, Kubira, Basara, Shindara, Sanchira, Haira, Makora, Sh&ocirc;tora, Anchira, Bikara, and Mekira). These are animal in form, caricatures of the symbols that these figures carry, which come from the Chinese counting series Earthly Branches. Normally they are under control, but whenever Meiko becomes distraught, her &quot;pets&quot; destroy anything or anyone within their reach. Unfortunately for all, Meiko is sensitive, weak-willed and easily hurt, therefore the Shikigami are set on the loose very frequently. She is hinted at being a lesbian with feelings for Mikami, who was the only person able to calm Meiko down when she first lost control of her shikigami in public. Sapphie (サフィー, Safii)  is Aoi and Sara's Jewelpet partner, she's a yellow and blue Cavalier King Charles spaniel who symbolizes friendship. She wears a pink and blue flower tiara and a necklace shaped like a blue music note.   Sapphy knows how her human partner is feeling sometimes and she is always with her every time. Friendly, calm and can understand everyone's feelings, Sapphy knows how kind her friends were in both Jewel Land and on Earth. Her only fear is doctors and hospitals. Despite her personality, she's the highest ranking Jewelpet in Jewel Land, earning her the "Crystal Class" due to the fact that her magic is always successful. In Jewelpet Tinkle, she is Sara's Jewelpet partner. Her birthday is on September 1st and her name is based on the Gemstone  Sapphire. Noel is the Mermaid Princess of the Arctic Ocean, and the keeper of the Deep Blue Pearl. She has three different forms: Mermaid Noel, Human Noel, and her singer form, Deep Blue Pearl Voice. She has no image song.

Noel is portrayed as the smart and quiet type, but she is involved in most of the second trio's crazy things. Noel is not one who makes a decision without thinking, but she is willing to sacrifice herself if it means saving her friends.

She was captured by Gaito, and so she only appeared near the end of the first season when Lucia and Co. went to face Gaito and liberate everyone. Noel was then freed and reunited with her younger sister, Karen.  

~!When Gaito was defeated, Noel leaves to help rebuild her kingdom. She comes back to the human world with Karen and Coco, but they are only comic relief. Noel returns a second time when the Mermaids fight Michel.!~  

Hazuki is Doremi's childhood friend, and likewise, the opposite of Doremi. She is quiet, smart, and proper, not to mention that she also has a wealthy family. Hazuki sometimes feels insecure about her ties with her friends, and thinks she will lose them forever. (But Doremi reassures that they will be friends forever.)  One important fact about Hazuki is that she has an extreme fear of ghosts. Whenever there is mention of one, she'll scream, run around, and constantly shout Majorika's name.  Hazuki has no real love interest, but she has affection for Yada Masaru. Though she is the love interest of Fujio from FLAT 4, she doesn't appear to like him that way. Her family consists of her parents and her maid, Baaya.  Her enchantation spell is "Paipai Ponpoi Puwapuwa Puu", her Magical Stage's being "Paipai Ponpoi Shinayakani".   In the English adaption, her name is changed to Reanne Griffith in 4Kids Entertainment.  In Finnish, her name is changed to Sylvi Nevakivi in Ojamajo Doremi in Finnish on MTV3.

Kaya is a rich girl who gets an inheritance after her parents died. Kaya becomes sickly, and her caretaker Klahadore often tends to her. (Klahadore was found three years earlier by her father, practically dead on their doorstep. Kaya's father took pity and offered the man a job.) Secretly, the town liar--Usopp--climbs a tree outside her window and tells her tall tales that make her laugh and feel better. However, Klahadore is very disapproving of this and eventually kicks Usopp out and makes Kaya believe that he is a bad influence.

Chiaotzu is seemingly a small, doll-like human with plain white skin and red cheeks; his name is based off of the food jiaozi. When first introduced Chiaotzu is a student of the Crane Hermit (a rival of Master Roshi) and the constant companion of fellow student Tien; he quickly amends his ways though and joins Goku and his friends. While not outstanding in physical prowess compared to other superhuman warriors in Dragon Ball, Chiaotzu has considerable potency in psionics, especially in psychokinesis. Chiaotzu is not very well educated, as shown in the Tien Shinhan Saga. There was one part where Krillin was called &quot;squid&quot; due to his shaved head. Krillin angered and said that Chiaotzu was also a bald. But Chiaotzu took off his cap, revealling ONE hair on top of his head (which makes Krillin very angry). Chiaotzu lost the battle in the 22nd Martial Arts Tournament by Krillin&#039;s maths knowledge.    Chiaotzu&#039;s importance in the series rapidly diminishes after his introduction in the Tenshinhan Saga, where he is a major character. He is a minor character in the subsequent Demon King Piccolo, Piccolo Junior and Vegeta sagas, and is more-or-less a background character for the others.
