First impressions of Ban are generally that he is a rude person and has a great sense of pride. With his unruly hair (He&#039;s often called &quot;Urchin Head&quot;) and sunglasses, people already judge him poorly (It doesn&#039;t help that he gives unflattering nicknames to almost anyone he meets, e.g. &quot;monkey trainer&quot; Shido and &quot;thread spool&quot; Kazuki). But he is actually a great guy with a strong sense of leadership and a very talented person. He is one quarter German and he&#039;s the grandchild of the &quot;Last Witch of the 20th Century&quot;.    He&#039;s also a brother-like figure to Himiko Kudo after she has gotten over her brother&#039;s death. Himiko&#039;s average fighting skills meant that she often bites off more than what she can chew. In such situations, Ban can be counted on to come to her aid (though it must be noted that she does return the favor at times).    In the GB duo, he&#039;s often the one who thinks of plans for their moves. Initially, Ginji was seen to be a sidekick to him. (In fact, when they first formed their partnership, Ban insisted that Ginji was only his sidekick.) As the story progresses, Ginji gradually held his own in their missions, and Ban acknowledged him as an equal.

Born as Sètanta from a mortal woman, Deichtine, and the Sun God Lugh he's a Hero from the Ulster Cycle of Irish Mythology. He took the name Cú Chulainn after he killed the guard dog of the blacksmith Culann, said to be stronger than 10 men, when he was only a child. To make up to the old blacksmith he offered himself as a guard dog and since then was called Cú Chulainn, "Culann's savage dog".

Trained in the Arts of the Spear and magic Runes by Scáthach, he wields the cursed Gàe Bolg, the spear that inflicts wounds that never heal.

The male protagonist, a hybrid of a youkai-dog and a human, a half-demon ("han'yo" in Japanese). He wields the Tessaiga (pronounced "Tetsaiga" in the American dub), a supernatural sword made from one of his deceased father's fangs. This sword, when properly wielded, can destroy one hundred demons with a single swing, and has further powers which are revealed as the story progresses. It is also a source of which hatred exists between Inuyasha and his brother Sesshomaru, a full youkai dog demon, being that Inuyasha can wield the Tessaiga and Sesshomaru can not. Inuyasha has a tendency for massive regeneration and can recover from injuries which would be fatal for any average human. This ability is likely derived from his youkai powers (Example: Episode 5, when Kagome brings medicine from her time). On the night of the new moon each month, Inuyasha will change into a normal human with black hair, brown eyes, and loses his yokai power during this time. Prior to meeting his current companions, he would conceal himself during this time. Inuyasha loves Kikyo, and still does, but things get complicated when he starts to develop feelings of love for Kagome. He has mastered different abilities for his sword including the red tessaiga that can destroy barriers and also learning the backlash wave which hurls an opponents demonic energy right back at it.

Seto Kaiba is the majority shareholder and President of his own multi-national company, KaibaCorp, who aims to become the world's greatest player of the Duel Monsters card game. To accomplish this goal, he must defeat his arch-rival, Yugi Muto. He is largely considered an anti-hero, as his motives are usually ego-centric, but in several cases towards a good cause. Among one of the recurring plots in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is Seto Kaiba being forced to deal with either people adversely affected by Gozaburo Kaiba's actions wanting to take their revenge on Seto Kaiba, or people from within KaibaCorp attempting to take over the corporation. 

Shouryuu is the king of En. Like Youko, Shoryu is a taika from feudal Japan, approximately 500 years ago. He was originally the leader of a clan, and after it was wiped out, he was taken by Enki to rule the kingdom of En. Though En was originally in terrible condition, his 500-year rule has led to an extremely calm and prosperous nation. Shoryu helped Youko by providing her with an army to retake the kingdom of Kei and rescue Keiki. As a fellow taika, Shoryu feels that he should help guide Youko in her new life.

Deidara is a missing-nin from Iwagakure. Before joining the Akatsuki, Deidara was a terrorist bomber for hire. His work caught the eye of Pain, who sent other Akatsuki members to recruit him. Though he refused at first, Deidara was forced to join the organization after being defeated by Itachi Uchiha. Deidara maintained a deep loathing for Itachi from that point onward and became determined to defeat him, even training one of his eyes to overcome Itachi's signature ability: genjutsu. Deidara was partnered with Sasori upon joining the organization, who earned Deidara's admiration through his artistic ability and insight. Deidara was partnered with Tobi after Sasori's death, whom he treated as a disciple. Despite Tobi's habit of accidentally angering Deidara, Deidara took great care to keep Tobi out of harm's way and even spent his final moments apologizing to him.  In battle, Deidara uses special mouths on the palm of each hand to create Exploding Clay, chakra-infused clay that explodes on command. He commonly uses the command "Katsu" to trigger it. The blast strength of his creations is determined by how much chakra he adds to them. His clay can take on any size or form, ranging from microscopic in size to copies of himself as tall as a skyscraper. Deidara refers to his creations as "art," believing the most beautiful thing about them to be their detonation. His admiration for his art is to such a degree that he believes it can't be defeated, leading to a feeling of overconfidence in battle. Depending on the complexity or potency of one of his works, Deidara applies it a designation that ranges anywhere between "C1" to "C4", the former being the most basic and the latter being his strongest and most complex attack. For his final act, Deidara also has a mouth on his chest that, once provided with clay, turns him into a living bomb that destroys everything within a 10 kilometer radius.

Nicknamed "The Serpent" for his reincarnation ability, Roa was a priest of the church that sought immortality and tricked Arcueid into drinking blood hidden within a rose, causing her to go berserk and wipe out almost all the True Ancestors, and also turning Roa into one of the most powerful Dark Apostles, to the point where he was strong enough to defeat Altrouge Brunestud when she tried to "teach him a lesson" as the rest of the Dark Apostles saw him as a upstart. 

His original body was finally defeated by a coalition comprised of Arcueid and the Burial Agency, and he has been re-incarnating ever since then. By the time of Tsukihime he has already re-incarnated 17 times and been destroyed by Arcueid each time as she seeks to gain her stolen power back, and perhaps to achieve some measure of revenge. Roa has 2 requirements for choosing the host of his next reincarnation, his family must have a high social standing so he would be born into luxury, and a body with a high potential. His last host was Ciel, who was chosen in haste and thus was born into a bakery's family but instead had a body with an extremely high physical and magical potential. Kensei is portrayed as a serious character, often angry at the others for their immaturity. A skilled and respected battlefield commander, he has a rather brutal fighting style quite often blasting his opponents apart. When outside of battle he has a blunt and slightly aggressive attitude, trying to cheer up a tearful Hisagi in a manner reminiscent of an army drill sergeant, though he seems more passive as a Vizard. He is most frequently irritated by his former lieutenant Mashiro Kuna due to her childish airheaded manner, he once noted she had the uncanny ability to aggravate him even when asleep.

Erroneously humbling himself before the Iga, Gennosuke is the very definition of honorable. In hopes of winning their admiration for the sake of his botrothed, Oboro, he will do anything to ensure their matrimony.    While Gennosuke tries to break the long-lasting hateful tradition and welcome the Iga as family, they plot against him, picking off his clansmen one by one. Well loved by the Kouga, Gennosuke is feared greatly by his enemies. He is thought to be so powerful that the Iga avoid direct confrontation with him at all costs. This fear is greatly justified for he posseesses the ultimate doujutsu technique, taught by his master Hyoma.

Kaneda's best friend since preschool and the second principal subject of the story's theme. Tetsuo is shown as a black sheep in the gang he and Kaneda are part of, and quietly suffers from a deeply rooted inferiority complex. He admires his friend yet at the same time strongly resents his own reliance upon him. After his psychokinetic abilities manifest, Tetsuo quickly becomes Kaneda's nemesis; he desires Kaneda's motorcycle (a symbol of status and power), and seeks to prove himself supremely powerful, without need of protection. Kisame Hoshigaki is a missing-nin from Kirigakure and is partnered with Itachi Uchiha. He gets along considerably better with Itachi than most Akatsuki members do with their own partners, immediately doing as Itachi asks of him and always looking out for Itachi's well-being. His former country, the Land of Water, now seeks him out for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations. When he was still loyal to Kirigakure, he was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, a group of ninja that wield particularly large weapons in battle. 

Kisame has a distinctive shark-like appearance, complete with pale blue skin, small white eyes, gill-like facial structures, and sharp triangular teeth. Even his name, Kisame, means "demon shark". His shark-like qualities carry over to the type of techniques he uses in battle, as he often shapes bodies of water into the forms of sharks that proceed to attack opponents. If there is no water source where he happens to be fighting, Kisame can use Water Release: Exploding Water Shockwave to create a lake's worth of water to be used for attacks. Kisame is also noted to have a particularly large reserve of chakra; even when he fights at 30% power in one instance his chakra supply is compared to that of a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox-enhanced Naruto Uzumaki.

Initially a wealthy, spolied, prettyboy enemy of Otaru's, later revealed to have gay feelings for him. He despises Otaru's marionettes, seeing them as rivals, and is frequently physically abused by them (especially Bloodberry) for comic relief. Akazawa Yoshirou is known to be a powerful and talented singles player. Based on the actual captain, Sagara Sōzō (1839 - 1868) was the leader of the Sekihōtai's First Troop. Sanosuke looked up to him greatly; he was, to Sanosuke, the ideal role model. He was killed when the Meiji government purged the Sekihōtai, leading to Sanosuke's embitterment towards it. His head was placed on a platform and in a cage for all to see, it haunts Sano still to this very day. Sometime after his death, Sano took his name and became Sagara Sanosuke. Shiba regularly visits the Sevii Islands. He and his Pokémon use the spa on One Island, and he visits Two Island to buy RageCandyBars. Shiba once used to train with Touki, a Fighting-type Gym Leader from Hoenn.

Although his legs are not strong, he proves to his teammates that he can steal, rebound and defend better than ever before. He plays the position of center in the team.    He is often called &quot;old man&quot; by Ishii because of his hair and appearance. In the anime, before the prefectural championship, he changed his hairstyle. Dobashi attended Takakura Junior High.  

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, Johan Anderson (called Jesse Anderson in the 4Kids dub) is one of the transfer students who arrived at Duel Academy during Judai&#039;s third year. Johan is the representative from North Academy, and plays a Gem Beast deck which centers around the seven Gem Beast monsters, including his spirit partner Ruby Carbuncle. Johan becomes fast friends with Judai after discovering that they share the ability to communicate with monster spirits. Judai and his friends help Johan on his quest to complete his deck by finding the ultimate Gem Beast -- the Rainbow Dragon.    Johan and the other exchange students debuted in the manga at the end of chapter 37, but it currently unknown what their role in the story will be.

Ash in the manga    Former Chronos Number X and partner as well as best friend of Naizer. He never actually appeared in the volumes, but it was explained that he was killed by Creed Diskenth.    Ash in the anime    Ash actually does appear in the anime, and it's shown that his weapon is a cane (name unknown), having the ability to split the ground with one hit. This may be a shikomizue (a cane with a sword inside). Another notable detail is that Ash has an &quot;X-shaped&quot; scar between his eyebrows, which is covered by his bandana. Like in the manga, he was killed by Creed, but the scene is actually shown.

Jiroubou is the physically strongest member of the Sound Four. Through simple physical attacks, he can defeat an opponent in one or two blows. Because he is able to absorb the chakra of others, Jiroubou often captures opponents so that he can absorb their chakra as a form of sustenance.

A mysterious and silent refugee who is searching for his missing sister Usagi, or Bunny. For punishment of a crime committed in his past, he was transformed into a "beast-human"; hybrid - criminals who have committed a crime so grave as to warrant life in prison have beast heads grafted onto their bodies in order to make them regret their sin for the rest of their lives. Boma disguises his wolf-like features with a holographic device.

He accepts one job for Clair Leonelli - to destroy J. However, he ends up refusing the job. He is a skilled swordsman and makes a deadly enemy (and later, a powerful ally) for Daisuke and J.   

Andy practices the Shiranui-ryuu ("style" in Japanese) Ninjutsu and a form of empty-handed ninja combat called Koppouken, which he trained in after witnessing his foster father's murder in order to gain revenge on Geese Howard. Mai Shiranui is his fiancée (in her mind), and the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, the man he learned Ninjitsu from.  It was after his foster father Jeff's death that Tung Fu Rue took responsibility for raising himself and Terry. Andy went to Japan to train under Hanzo and grew up alongside Mai, while Terry stayed in South Town.  During Andy's time in Japan, he met the Muay Thai fighter Joe Higashi, and challenged him to a match. When Andy won, he invited Joe to return to America with him to enter the King of Fighters tournament, held by Geese. Before this, Andy had rarely, if ever, seen Terry in the interim since Jeff's death. Andy quickly grew jealous of Terry because Terry was taller, older, more experienced and quite possibly a better fighter, and unlike Andy, Terry did not practice a grueling daily training regimen.  Late in the tournament, Andy tried to kill off Geese by himself. Geese's power proved to be too much for Andy as he almost fell to his death. Terry saved Andy, who finally acknowledged Terry as the better of the two brothers.  Andy's emotions prevented him from reaching the final round, but when Terry defeated Geese, Andy felt a sense of closure and returned to Japan to continue his training. After Terry beat Geese at the end of their first King of Fighters Tournament, a new tournament was held, this time hosted by Wolfgang Krauser. Andy, while present in the tournament, did not accomplish much story-wise.  Ever since Geese's death, the fall of the First Southtown, and the birth of Second Southtown, Andy has been busy training Hokutomaru through the ways of Shiranui-ryuu Ninjutsu and Koppouken. Instead of fighting in the tournament himself, he sends Hokutomaru in his place to see what his apprentice has learned. In Hokutomaru's ending Andy writes him a note saying that he was proud of how strong Hokutomaru has gotten.
