Verard is said to have met Liselotte 800 years ago before his death, during a time when his country was part of a civil war. Verard had the view that the world shouldn&#039;t exist as it was full of hate and destruction, a view shared by Liselotte which she vowed to carry out after learning of his death.    Kakeru is told by Shiori that the Holy Office of the Index believed that Verard would awaken inside the Eye of Aeon, take over Kakeru&#039;s body and attempt to release Liselotte; a reason why the Black Knights wanted to kill him. During the final battle with Liselotte, Kakeru stops and passionately defies Liselotte saying that he would protect the world because even though there was, there was also good. When Liselotte prepares to attack Kakeru again however, a voice emerged, telling her to stop. Liselotte stops in shock, saying the voice belonged to Verard. He explains that he was wrong in wanting to destroy the world, and that people do care, saying that Kakeru had taught him that. However Liselotte ignores Verard&#039;s plea to stop and continues attacking, saying all she wanted was the Eye of Aeon. Before he became part of Kogarasumaru, he was the leader of the team Night King (夜王 Yaou) which was broken up after Buccha lost a Parts War with Ikki. Buccha is often characterized as a tank. He attends Higachu Junior High School. He appears to be obese, but his body is only ten percent fat. His size is actually caused by a large amount of blood pooling in his gut from overeating. He also has the ability to manipulate that blood and send it to his muscles, causing him to temporarily have a slimmer, cut figure and even cause his limbs to become longer. He also has a semi-split personality similar to that of Akito/Agito. When not in a fight is simply cares for food and relaxing. But when the topic of battle comes up his other half takes hold, and he becomes a devastating killing machine. He can also dance. He uses brass knuckles-esque gloves in combat, which combined with his superhuman strength is truly devastating his character design is based on the wrestler Abdullah the butcher note the three lines on his forehead, and his nickname "Buccha". Spielberger, managed to board the U-Boat before leaving Kiel, Germany, carrying a painting, &quot;The Twelve Knights Led by Brunhilda&quot;, believed to be painted by Adolph Hitler (over sixty years later, it was revealed that it was a meaningless painting).    Unlike Spielberger, who rarely left his quarters, Matsuda openly socialized with Ahbe and his crew. He even taught the German crew shogi (Japanese chess), which he played with them during his journey to the Japanese base in Batavia, located in the South China Sea.    For the most part, U-1324 was lucky, avoiding enemy patrols, and even torpedoing an enemy tanker in the Indian Ocean. However, the ship ran into a U.S. Navy patrol near Batavia, and was depth-charged into a dive bow-first into the floor of the ocean. With escape impossible and not wishing the disgrace of capture, Matsuda committed seppuku (ritual suicide).

A seemingly mouthless man, the appointed examiner for the first part of the Hunter Exam. He tests the examinees&#039; stamina by leading them on an marathon of initially unknown length through an underground tunnel. Though he seems only to move his legs at a fast walking pace, the examinees are forced to run faster and faster to keep up with his speed. After they emerge from the tunnel, Satotz then leads the examinees through the Numere Marsh, nicknamed the "The Swindler's Nest", a swamp filled with deadly man-eating animals, before leaving them at the site of the second exam. As an Archaeological Hunter in his normal profession, he was also inspired by Ging in taking up the Hunter license. He initially simply felt a strong civic duty to carry out his role as a judge, he progressively takes a liking to Gon and wishes to help him.

His name was unknown from the anime, and often referred to as Hanai&#039;s Master or the Drunken Master, Itou Matakichi is Hanai&#039;s self proclaimed master who trains Hanai in the mountains, through a parody technique. He is extremely proud of his culinary skills. His previous employ was at a hotel, and due to his experience, he is ostentatious and looks down upon Shannon and Kanon.

Hidetoshi Nakata, simply known as Teacher, is Kiyomaro's math teacher and homeroom teacher at Mochinoki Middle School. 
In the first episode of the anime, Mr. Nakaka appeared to have a more serious and intimidating appearance and appears younger, given he had brown hair at the time. Sooner in the anime, Mr. Nakata was redesigned to look more like his manga counterpart, appearing slightly chubbier, older (with brownish-gray hair), and appears to be more comical.
