Toshiyuki Aoshima is a playboy around the Nekomi Institute of Technology campus and Sayoko&#039;s cousin. He is enamoured by Belldandy and tries often to steal her away from Keiichi, going as far as to set up a rival motor club. In the TV series, he and his cousin Sayoko can be identified by the super cars that they drive.

Marron gets the provisions and usually doesn't say much unless it is intensely profound. He is also the only Sorcerer Hunter (in the name at least)  who can use magic. Marron's main and only goal is to make his [brother](https://anilist.co/character/2558/) happy and to protect his brother, giving up all pleasures and desires for himself. It seems as if Marron is the weakest character, but when Carrot is threatened, his vicious side shows through. However, Marron does not stop Tira or Chocolate from doing what they will to Carrot. Marron is very beautiful and often gets looks from both sexes. Once or twice he has used this to his advantage by getting information or by letting a few guards believe he is a girl. If anything, Marron can be counted on and always has the right answer.

The first recruited member of BECK, Taira is the bassist, and the most talented band member next to Ry&ucirc;suke. He plays Music Man StingRay bass. His attitude may sometimes come off as uncaring. He has been seen working as a traffic officer. As the story progresses, we learn that his father was a jazz musician that left him and his mother when he was young.

The hot-headed member of the Order, he was initially skeptical about Zero and his plans.

L Lawliet is a world-renowned detective who takes on the challenge of catching Kira. In his investigation, L becomes suspicious of [Light Yagami](https://anilist.co/character/80/Light-Yagami) and makes it his goal to prove that Light is Kira. L is very secretive and only communicates with the world through his assistant, [Watari](https://anilist.co/character/2179/Quillsh-Wammy). He never shows his face to the world in person, instead, representing himself with a capital letter L.

L is highly intelligent, though his disheveled and languid appearance masks his great powers of deduction, and many question his abilities upon viewing him. L tends to second-guess everything he is presented with and is extremely meticulous and analytical. He is good at deceiving his opponents and is willing to take drastic measures to solve a case. He is also shown to have a dry sense of humor, and he isn't above making sarcastic remarks to people. Although he tends to be polite to some, L can seem condescending at times.

L has several quirks, such as preferring to crouch rather than sit, eating only sweet foods, and holding items by using only a thumb and a finger. He is often seen arranging objects and very intently stacking, or in other ways playing with, his staple food items. L is almost always encountered while performing actions that are considered inappropriate or rude in public. These actions/habits include biting fingernails, placing feet on furniture, slouching, chewing with an open mouth, talking with his mouth full, and calling out personal observations that may offend others.

Kensuke Aida is an otaku, a military buff, Toji&#039;s best friend, and one of the &quot;Other Children,&quot; Eva pilot candidates in the same class as Shinji, Toji, Rei, Asuka, and Hikari. His hobbies include camping in the mountains surrounding Tokyo-3 and playing at simulated war reenacting - by himself. Kensuke solidifies his friendship with Shinji after Shinji saves him and Toji during the fight against the fourth Angel, Shamshel. Kensuke dreams of becoming an Eva pilot and ceaselessly begs Shinji to pull strings in NERV so he can be selected as a pilot, despite Shinji telling him that he has no say in the matter. He also seems oblivious to the intense physical and psychological duress endured by Eva pilots. Nevertheless, Kensuke enjoys the privileges of being the friend of an Eva pilot; he and Toji accompany Shinji on the excursion to the UN combined naval fleet during the transportation of Unit 02. Like presumably every one of Shinji&#039;s classmates, Kensuke&#039;s mother is deceased. Like Toji, Kensuke has a crush on Misato Katsuragi. He is rarely seen without his camcorder at hand.

_Kensuke is named after a main character in the novel The Fascism of Love and Fantasies (Ai to Gensou no Fascism) by Ryu Murakami. He is also similar in appearance to the character Jean, from Hideaki Anno&#039;s earlier anime Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water._

Keisuke is Miaka's older brother. He's very protective of Miaka and always thinks what's best for her. At first, when he heard the story about The Universe Of Four Gods from Miaka, he had problems believing her but to make sure, he told her not to go near the book. In spite of that, Miaka went and he went after her. It was not until when he saw her disappear into the book, did he believe the story and throughout a large part of the anime, he is the one who reads the book and at the same time tries to figure out how to help her return to the real world. Toshiro Hijikata is the famed chain smoking, vice commander of the Shinsengumi so named by his subordinates, because of his fearsome demeanor. Purportedly the brains behind the force, he takes his work seriously, and is fiercely loyal to his leader, [Isao Kondo](https://anilist.co/character/2943). Hijikata has a reputation as a fearsome leader, earning the nickname of "demonic vice-commander". He is also hot-tempered and often speaks of seppuku. However, despite his cold exterior, he does have a more compassionate side. He also has a tendency to cry after watching movies that are not particularly emotional.

Hijikata is obsessed with mayonnaise and thus has the nickname "Mayora". He has been known to smother anything he eats under a mountain of mayonnaise, and he carries a number of objects shaped like jars of mayonnaise, such as his cigarette lighter. He was popular with girls until they discovered this obsession.

He enjoys fighting and sees [Gintoki Sakata](https://anilist.co/character/672) as a rival in practically everything he does from drinking contests to rock, paper, scissors ever since being defeated by him in battle. He is in constant danger of being killed by the attempts on his life by [Sougo Okita](https://anilist.co/character/2282). But, despite all this, he sees Sougo as one of his close friends, and vice versa. Before joining Shinsengumi, he used to be a troublemaker ronin. He enjoys fighting/having a good fight and says he doesn't care how many Amanto buildings get blown up, he only looks forward to having a big battle with the Joui rebels after Shinsengumi has rounded them in 1 fell swoop, in episode 5. He also formulated the Kyokuchuu Hatto, the 45 Regulations that form the disciplinary framework for Shinsengumi members, and implements them firmly.

He debuted as the captain of Aliea Academy's First rank team "Epsilon". In the FFI arc, he wanted to go against the world and persuaded Coach Hitomiko to form a team. Hiten is a Thunder Demon and the older brother of Manten. While Manten looks like a monster, Hiten appears to be a handsome human. The reason Hiten looks human and Manten looks like some kind of shark-man is that their parents were two different types of demons. Hiten looks like their father and Manten looks like their mother. While he may be the better looking of the two, he's also the more psychotically violent as well.

Kai is another of the White Base crew members. Unlike many of his teammates, Kai would rather runs away from battle. He's mostly a coward but likes to flirt with the ladies. Eventually he sums up the courage to become White Base's Guncannon pilot.

Shouji is Komatsu Nana's boyfriend. Friends at first, they build up their relationship and Shouji moves to Tokyo applying for art school with Nana joining him a year later. Their relationship is pure and kind but later on they can't seem to keep it going as they both are too busy with their lives.

Rockman is Netto&#039;s Net Navi, and devoted friend. He&#039;s basically the &quot;good guy&quot; of the series, as he foils the World 3&#039;s plans continuously. Rockman has a default weapon used in battle known as his &quot;Rock Buster&quot;, in which he does not need a battle chip from Netto to use. As the episodes of the series progress, Rockman himself often becomes to prime target of the World 3&#039;s evil operators and Navis.     As the series progress, Rockman begins to acquire a vast amount of various style changes. Beginning in Season 2 and all the way into Beast, these range from simple elemental changes, to soul unisons with other navis, and finally to ravenous &quot;beast-out&quot; transformations.    Despite all their troubles with Dr. Wily or some other evil, Rockman and Netto always remain the most dedicated of friends. The current human incarnation of the Organic Angel, Alexiel. Though dormant inside him, Alexiel retains many of her high astral powers and Setsuna is almost impervious to injury.
