Also known as the "Earth King." Amaimon is supposedly the second son of Satan and another Demon Prince of Gehenna. Unlike his father and elder brother Mephisto, Amaimon had little interest in Rin after their first encounter.   He is a human-like demon. He has a spike of hair that is lightly colored compared to the rest of his dark green hair. He wears a jacket that has cross-bones as buttons. He also wears a long-sleeved green shirt under his jacket, which is ripped at the ends.   He appears to be calm and collected, but very confident in his powers. However, he shows great anger and annoyance when someone gets in the way of his fun. He is very playful and doesn't take things seriously when it comes to fighting strong combatants which hint that he is very skilled in combat.

The primary male protagonist of the series, Mikado Ryugamine is a high school boy who moved to Ikebukuro with the encouragement of his best friend Masaomi in order to search for unusual beings and adventure. Mikado tries hard to change his image but so far he has not had any luck. Mikado has had moments where he speaks his mind, which is a reason why Masaomi admires him.

Satoshi is the older brother of Satoko Houjou. Although he is currently missing, his past influence is the key to the actions of several characters in Higurashi. Similar to Satoko, he cannot distinguish the difference between cauliflower and broccoli. Because of this, it can be inferred that both Satoshi and Satoko are color-blind. Satoshi is referred to by Satoko as Nii-Nii, a childish form of the Japanese word ani (兄, ani meaning older brother).  ~!It is revealed in Matsuribayashi-hen (Festival Accompanying Chapter), that Satoshi is in fact alive. Shion Sonozaki learned from Kyosuke Irie, that he has been kept in the underground levels of the Irie Clinic. Rikuo Nura is 3/4 human and 1/4 yokai.

He is the son of Rihan and Wakana Nura and grandson of Nurarihyon and Yohime. He is the third and current head of the Nura Clan.  Due to having yokai blood in his lineage, Rikuo has two forms: one in which he takes a human form, and another where his yokai blood takes over and he becomes a full yokai. The former is frequently called his "day" form, whereas the latter is called his "night" form, as originally he was only able to maintain it during darkness.  Rikuo was originally reluctant to accept his yokai blood and his role as the successor to the Nura Clan because he was teased at school for talking about yokai. As he ages, he realizes he has the ability to protect both humans and yokai because of his heritage, and acknowledges himself as the third leader of the Nura Clan.  Rikuo has officially exchanged sakazuki with Zen, Kubinashi, Tsurara, Jami, Kappa, Kurotabo and Aotabo.

The 12-year-old son of Heitarou. First appears being tutored by Osuzu, then turns up in fight trying to get the deed to Osuzu's father's store back. Jin saves him from a beating and becomes his bodyguard.

~!Takes matters into his own hand after his father refuses to get Osuzu out of the brothel, and he and Jin infiltrate dressed as an old man and a woman, respectively. They fail to free Osuzu, and the next day Susuke kills a Nagatomi who tries to molest her, precipitating a showdown between the clans. Susuke becomes the Nagatomis' hostage-wager, and is freed after Heitarou commits seppuku to atone for the murder, leaving his son as the head of the Kawara clan. !~

Hakuei's younger brother, he is currently the fourth prince in the Kou Empire. As he was taught to be able to do everything on his own by his sister, he is good at cooking. Because of Hakuei taking over his mother's position, he treasures her a lot as she is his one and only last kin.   He has a serious personality and worries over little things.   ~!Hakuryuu is the owner of the Djinn, Zagan. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing one Dungeon, and a King Candidate.!~   ~!Hakuryuu has a very troubled past. When Hakuryuu was younger, he was in a large fire during a revolt where his father and two brothers was killed. To save his life, his older brother, Hakuyuu Ren, splashed his blood all over Hakuryuu's body after telling to him that the culprit of the fire was their mother, Gyokuen Ren. The incident still caused him to receive the burn scar on the left side of his face.  After the revolt, Gyokuen told Hakuryuu and his older sister, Hakuei Ren, that the new Emperor, his uncle, Koutoku Ren, will adopt them and they will still have the title of prince and princess. Soon after, Hakuryuu, not believing what his brother had said, asks his mother about the truth. She admits it and says that she will marry the new Emperor. Later, Hakuei asks him what's wrong and he lies telling her nothing is wrong, hiding the truth about their mother, believing he had to protect her.!~   ~!Hakuryuu deeply likes Morgiana, after finding out her background and getting to know each other. He liked her enough that he proposed to her and promised to make her his empress. He said he will never give up until she loves him back, declaring he will come back to propose to her. !~

Seto has a shy nature. Due to past experiences with girls he is afraid to tell the one true girl he loves how he feels. As the years go by, Iori and himself become better friends but nothing more. With the help of his good friend Teratani, Seto hopes to one day change that and win Iori over forever.

Darrel Guilbeau is an American voice actor. He was recommend by friends to audition for Overman King Gainer and won the lead role of Gainer Sanga. Other notable roles include Hikari in The Melody of Oblivion and Sousuke Kawara in Samurai Champloo as well as Paranoia Agent, Stellvia, Koi Kaze, DearS, Rumiko Takahashi Anthology, Boys Be…, Captain Herlock, Cyborg 009, Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG, Kamichu! and the Pilot of Pretty Cure.    He has also multiple voices in the video games Radiata Stories, Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song and the main character in an upcoming version of Culdcept. On film his voice can be heard in Red Water starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Bam Bam and Celeste with Margaret Cho and the hit Korean comedy Attack the Gas Station.

As an actor he has appeared on film and television in Windtalkers directed by John Woo, Alias with Jennifer Garner and The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow.
