Udono is Gennosuke's portly and jovial best friend. Altough he is very friendly, he faces massive rejection from the ladies. Often coming across as abrasive, he speaks his mind, and is unabashedly honest.  Udono's redeeming quality is his ability to expand and contract like a balloon. Because of his rubbery nature, weapons bounce right off of him. But unfortunately for Udono his trusting nature opens him to sneakier, underhanded attacks, which could ultimately lead to his doom.

Aria is part of the Element 4 group as well as it strongest member. He is a very large man that towers over the other members. Despite his large appearance he seems to cry a lot. Aria&#039;s magic is called Drain which drains it&#039;s opponent of his or her magic power. Once it&#039;s drained it floats in the air and eventually disappears. The greater the magic power of the opponent the more damage Drain causes. His power is so great that he has to keep his eyes closed to contan it and only opens them for the strongest of opponents. Duke Everlue is the main antagonist of the Daybreak arc. A corrupted politician, he holds absolute power and influence over the nearby town of Shirotsume.  Everlue is a conceited and selfish man who declares himself to be highly-cultured and superior to everyone around him. He keeps a massive collection of books to flaunt his avid love for literature, though Lucy refers to him as an enemy of literature for blackmailing novelist Kemu Zaleon into writing a novel with Everlue as the main character. He is also extremely greedy and possessive, deeming anything he owns to be his alone and refuses to give it away or let anyone touch it even if he sees it as worthless.  Everlue has a rather twisted sense of beauty: He views otherwise, unattractive women to be beautiful, and declares ordinary-looking girls such as Lucy to be ugly. Jared Anderson is an American crew member of Annex I, assigned to Squad 2 led by Michelle K. Davis. Jared grew up in a normal family and graduated from a local high school. He signed up for the air force where he was assigned to the communications. Although he was sociable and dedicated to his job he had little financial sense and racked up large debts from a life of luxury and gambling forcing him to join the Annex Project.
