A girl from the city whose father owns a world famous sweets company. Since she will one day inherit the company, she desires to make it the best sweets company in the world. She is often amazed by Kokonotsu's uncanny ability to create and design the perfect sweets without even trying.

Hotaru came to the sweets shop to hire Kokonotsu's father who is actually very well-known. However when he refused, she found out he would not leave until Kokonotsu was guaranteed to take his place as head of the store. She was horrified when she discovered Kokonotsu's natural talent would go to waste so she struck a bargain with his father: if she could convince Kokonotsu to become the head of the store, then his father would immediately join her father's company.

Shikada Kokonotsu's father owns a rural sweets shop, and his plan is for Kokonotsu to take it over one day.
However, Kokonotsu wants to be a manga author instead!
One day in summer, the cute but weird girl Shidare Hotaru, from the famous sweets company, comes to pay a visit.
Apparently, Kokonotsu's father is famous and she wants him to join her family's company.
However, he will only agree if she can convince Kokonotsu to take over the family business!

Attended Nihon Narration Engi Kenkyuujo before becoming affiliated with her first management company. She works for Link Plan and was formerly affiliated with I'm Enterprise and Assemble Heart. Because of her strong voice, she often voiced tsundere characters.

She is a member of the duo [Petit Milady](https://anilist.co/staff/116523/petit-milady) with fellow voice actress [Aoi Yuuki](https://anilist.co/staff/101686/Aoi-Yuuki).

She married voice actor [Yuuki Kaji](https://anilist.co/staff/95672/) on her 30th birthday in 2019. On June 30, 2022 she announced that she was expecting her first child with Kaji.
