Wakana is known for being somewhat of a loner, and that is due to her outward personality that may seem harsh to others. She is skilled at playing the piano and has a cat as a pet.  Despite the fact that she is very good at singing, she refuses to do so to the point of turning down Konatsu's attempt to recruit her into her new choir club. Before joining Konatsu's choir club, she never went out or did any extracurricular activities with her classmates. 

The last year of high school is always a time of both looking forward and looking back. Before you lives the future, alternately bright and scary. Behind you lie memories, both happy and sad. And somehow, in the course of one year, you have to reconcile those two and decide where your life is going to go. 
For Wakana Sakai, who had started studying music, it's time to face the tragedy that made her abandon that path. For Sawa Okita, it's about her dreams of riding professionally. And for Konatsu Miyamoto, it's about bringing her friends together through the magic of a song. Can something as simple as the formation of a choir club really help solve the hurts and pangs that come with growing up? Can music bring people together despite their differences?

Music brings Wakana, Konatsu, Sawa and the others together into an ensemble during their last summer in high school.

Utopia is a song that was specially created for the True Tears x Hanasaku Iroha x Tari Tari Joint Festival Live featuring the seiyuu (voice actors) from the three series. P.A. Works produced a video of this song which is included in the the Blu-ray release of this event.
