Setsuna F. Seiei is the main protagonist of the story in Gundam 00. He's a Gundam Meister of Celestial Being.

Having grown up as a child soldier, brainwashed to murder his own parents, and later cast away when he was no longer deemed useful, Setsuna became taciturn, introverted, and wholeheartedly against war at a very young age. He believes deeply that there are key disturbances that prevent the world from coming together in peace and harmony, to the point of developing a habit of labelling specific people and/or forces as sources of conflict towards the world's path to peace. He has little tolerance for diplomats and politicians, believing that their negotiations only prolong wars and cause more strife. He has got a vendetta to settle and his past battle experiences stir up old bitter feelings, increasing his combat potential as a beneficial side effect. Though a self-proclaimed atheist, he often questions the motivations of God with people and worldly events. 

Having been saved by a Gundam when he was about to be killed as a child, he came to view the Gundams as the manifestation of the idea of salvation itself. He idolizes the Gundams so much that he wants to embody the Gundam himself, a means to eradicate all conflict. Ever since being saved and recruited into Celestial Being, he has devoted his being to realizing the organization's ideals and would not hesitate to fulfill them. However, Setsuna notes the irony of him being someone who is good at nothing but dishing out violence, despite his earnest yearning for peace nonetheless. 

Setsuna's codename could denote the contradiction of his ends and means, as it's translated as "Moment From the Holy Eternity".

He is part of the Kurdish people and the first Gundam protagonist of Middle Eastern descent. His real name is based off Soran Ebrahim, a Kurdish child actor who protrayed the protagonist of the film "Turtles Can Fly".

~!Due to the power of 00 Gundam's concentrated GN particles with Trans-Am Raiser, Setsuna's brain has been gradually enhanced to utilize quantum brainwaves. He's able to sense quantum brainwaves (QBWs) near him and track users of QBWs. Eventually, he naturally evolves into humanity's first true/genuine Innovator.!~

~!At the end of the movie, after Setsuna joined the ELS, his body is not entirely human. The ELS reformed his body based on their bio-technology, forever retaining his youthful appearance with a metallic shine. It can be inferred that Setsuna became a hybrid of an Innovator and an ELS.!~

It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy. During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the Union (formerly United States of America), the Human Reformist Alliance (Russia, China and India) and the AEU (Europe). However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war. Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious non-profit military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundam. This begins the stories of Gundam Meisters (pilots) Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tieria Erde as they are thrown into conflict between the 3 superpowers and the other various factions.

A Japanese actor, voice actor, singer and narrator from Saitama Prefecture.

Miyano joined The Himawari Theatre Group at the age of 7 under the influence of his older brother, yet he did not attend the class as much as he should have. After entering high school, due to the uncertainty he felt towards the future, Miyano started attending singing and dance lessons he has been skipping until now. While taking music lessons, Miyano started to discover his music style through the encounter with music produced by singers like CHEMISTRY and EXILE. Miyano's first acting job was in 1992 in Tokusou Exceedraft, where he appeared in a flashback as a child in a yakuza member's past.

In 2001, he had his voice acting debut in a live action teen drama Caitlin's Way.

In 2002, he voiced Riku in the Japanese version for the video game Kingdom Hearts. Miyano also had his first anime voice acting role the same year, voicing Akira in [Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Light & Dark](https://anilist.co/anime/4068/). In 2003, he voiced [Kiba](https://anilist.co/character/241/), the main character in [Wolf's Rain](https://anilist.co/anime/202/). On May 28, 2007, on the King Records label, Miyano debuted as a singer with the single "Kuon." On June 13, he released a collaboration single titled "Fight," with fellow voice actress [Romi Park](https://anilist.co/staff/95082/). The duo's single debuted on the Oricon chart at number 73.

In 2008, at the second Seiyuu Awards, Miyano won "Best Actor in a Leading Role" for his roles [Setsuna F. The August issue (on sale on June 26) of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Gundam Ace magazine has launched Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Aoi Kioku (Blue Memories), Tar&#333; Shiguma's new manga series based on the Gundam 00 anime television series. 
The magazine summarizes how the manga will deal with the lives of the Gundam Meister pilots by saying, "The present and the past&hellip;fiction and memories&hellip;the true selves of the boys will be revealed." 
The first installment, "Memory: 1 Setsuna," covers the memories of the main protagonist Setsuna's early childhood.

It shares its name with another Gundam 00 manga drawn by Kouzoh Ohmari and published by Kadokawa.

Announced at GUNDAM.INFO's "GUNDAM FIGURES LIVE!!!" live stream, the new anime project will reveal anecdotes, unresolved mysteries, and stories to fill-in gaps not explored between the TV anime's first and second seasons of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. 

Setsuna F. Seiei successfully solved the conflict in Azadistan. However, for Celestial Being that was only a temporary intervention. Meanwhile, the world worked in secret on a counterattack plan in retaliation: Celestial Being through their "Double Drive" research, further strengthening Gundam Technology.
