A somewhat energetic girl who can understand and translate Maon's whistling.

For her first year of high school, family circumstances force Fuu Sawatari to move to Takehara, a scenic old town near Hiroshima on the Inland Sea and live with her relatives. Her father, who has passed away, grew up in Takehara and always spoke fondly of his childhood while living there. Sawatari learns to love taking photographs with his old film camera, a Rollei 35S while making friends and learning about the town.

As a little girl, Fuu Sawatari’s father taught her to love photography. They took pictures everywhere they went. But after he passed away, seeing those photographs only served as a reminder of her loss, so she locked them away to be forgotten. Years later, her brother Kou finds their father’s picture album, and as he flips through its pages, the pictures remind Fuu of all the happy memories of her father that she will carry with her forever. 
 
Now, as the shy Fuu enters her first year of high school, she once again takes up her father’s old camera, determined to take wonderful pictures that will bring joy and happiness to others.

Episode 8.5 of Tamayura: More Aggressive.

The story of the first film of four is set in the spring, when Fuu, Kaoru, Norie, and Maon get promoted to third-year high school students, while Kanae has graduated. Two kouhai join the photography club. Even though they bring in new friends, their lively daily life remains unchanged. Yet, the four third-year students are slowly thinking about their own future dreams and paths as they face graduation in about a year.

Sawatari Fu, also known as Potte, recently moved to her late father's hometown and is restarting her life at her new school. She is typically nervous and shy but when it comes to photography, she is extremely passionate, especially since it makes her feel still connected to her dad. Fu becomes close friends with Kaoru, Norie and Maon and they spend the best times of their lives together.
