The eccentric leader of Kyosho and best friend to Genjou and Houkou and a B-rank fighter. Until his dragon awoke, he did not care much for the state of affairs, but afterward he became extremely violent, blood-thirsty, and power-mad because he is completely possessed by his dragon. However, he is more interested in controlling powerful toushi than getting precious artifacts such as the Gyokuji and the Hyakuhekitou. When Kan'u refused to be freed in return for Ryubi surrendering the Gyokuji, Sousou happily accepts Kanu's request and orders the Gyokuji to be returned. Sousou often criticizes Kaku for wearing glasses, telling her she looks cuter without them. Easily the strongest character at the moment. He also has strange dreams involving an old man with writing on his forehead asking Sousou to avenge him.

Loosely based on the novel 'Romance of the three kingdoms', modern day Japan sees a similar struggle for power between different rival schools with the three strongest being; Kyosho Academy led by Sousou Moutoku, Nanyo Academy by Sonsaku Hakufu and Ryuubi Gentoku from Seito High School. Together these three tousei, each with their own mangatama, fight for the honour of becoming ikki tousen and fulfilling their fated destiny through battle and conquest.

Seven schools are constantly 'at war' with each other, and the students within - both male and female - have become skilled fighters and constantly battle with rival schools. Their lives and fates are guided by strange jewels that contain the spirits and destinies of warriors from the Sangokushi period. One girl, Sonsaku Hakufu, has recently moved to Japan and is apparently destined to unite the schools as her counterpart united seven countries long ago. But, like all heroes, there is a darker side to her fate, and as always there is a constant struggle by those around her to break the chains of their own destinies and make their own lives.

Hakufu's dreams of participating in new fights and tournaments are put on hold as new obstacles block her path. Her friends have lost faith in her, new enemies appear, and a younger sister she never knew existed suddenly shows up on her doorstep. Sealed in ancient jewels are the spirits of the heroes who tried and failed to unite China in the Three Kingdoms era. These jewels have been scattered throughout Japan, and have the power to draw out the full potential of those who inherit them. However, those owners, known as Toushi, are possessed with an insatiable appetite for battle. Hakufu Sonsaku is one such Toushi. Living in the country, Hakufu's desire to beat something to a pulp goes unfulfilled until her mother tells her to go to Tokyo, where she starts training with other Toushi and sets foot on the path to her destiny.

The fighters of the Kanto region have been able to determine that the previously unknown attackers are from Nara and are connected to the Yamato School and its dangerous leader Himiko. With leaders Hakufu Sonsaku and Moutoku Sousou already stripped of their Magatama jewels by the attackers, only Gentoku Ryuubi remains as the only fully operational leader. In order to maintain sufficient fighting strength, the fighters of Nanyo, Kyosho and Seito join forces for the counterattack. Although they expect to fall into a skillful trap, in the end they have no choice and even Hakufu wants to join in. However, Hakufu is “forgotten” at one of the stations on the way to Nara…
