Even in his past life, Cid's dream wasn't to become a protagonist or a final boss. Armed with his overactive imagination, Cid jokingly recruits members to his organization and makes up a whole backstory about an evil cult that they need to take down. Cid is a boy who reincarnated in another world, and decided to enjoy a scenario of being "the eminence in shadow, someone who meddles with the story from the shadows, and exhibits his true power in secrecy". Thus unfolds the story of him and the secret organization he leads—shadow garden—as well their their pleasant friends! An easy-going 4-koma manga starts right here and now!

Some people just aren’t suited to playing the part of the flashy, in-your-face hero or the dastardly, mustache-twirling villain with larger-than-life panache. Instead, they operate in the shadows and pull the strings of society through wit and cleverness. That’s the role Cid wants to play when he’s transported to another world. Cid spins a yarn or three and becomes the unlikely leader of the underground Shadow Garden organization that fights against a menacing cult (which he totally made up). However, there’s a catch even his wild imagination didn’t see coming: the cult he concocted actually exists, and they’re beyond displeased that his power fantasy just got in the way of their evil plans!

This is the start of a serious comedy about the Seven Shadows (and the main character) being the strongest, an overwhelming chuunibyou syndrome, and misunderstandings!?
