The protagonist of this work. An 11-year-old girl who attends the elementary school division of Kotemari Academy. She is a lively and energetic girl with a distinctive flaxen-colored short haircut.
She loves magic, but inherited from her father a natural clumsiness that makes her hands slow and her skills are still immature. She wants to become a magician like her idol, Emily Howell, and by receiving magic from the mirror spirit Topo, she is able to transform into her ideal self, "Magical Emi."

Mai's transformed form, Emi, is named after Emily Howell, a magician whom Mai admires. She suddenly appears as a mysterious genius magician and makes Magicarat's performance, which was on the verge of failure, a success. Koganei, who happens to be there, notices her star potential and she makes her debut in the entertainment industry, becoming the star of Magicarat.

In this 15-minute short story, released more than 15 years after the finale of the popular Mahou no Star Magical Emi franchise, a new life was born into the Kazuki family. How did her baby brother change the family's life and what are Mai's feelings about him. At the end of an eventful day for the siblings and Shou, another concert is waiting for Emi.

Then one day, she encounters a ball of light that was put into a stuffed doll of flying squirrel, bringing it to life and somehow giving her the power to turn in to the 18 year-old magician "Magical Emi." As Emi, Mai was able to join the magic act. But she must keep her identity a secret from her family and from her crush. 

Alessandra Karpoff is an Italian voice actress known for voicing Misty (Pokemon), Keiko Yukimura (Yu Yu Hakusho) and Sailor Mars (1st season), Sailor Neptune and Sailor Jupiter (last season) for the Sailor Moon franchise.

An OVA that both summarizes and continues the Mahou no Star Magical Emi TV series.

Yuu, Persia, Mai and Yumi are together in a science fiction-like adventure. An awful monster assault young and beautiful girls, leaving them transformed into ugly hags: only our four magical girls with their powers can fly to the space and fight for Earth 's sake, so Yuu transforms into Creamy Mami, Mai into Magical Emi, Persia into Fairy and little Yumi draws space suits for all of them.
